The thermomechanical properties of anion exchange polymers based on polysulfone (PSU) quaternized with trimethylamine (TMA) or 1,4‐diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) and containing hydroxide or chloride anions by tensile stress–strain tests and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) have been determined. The reported mechanical properties included the Young's modulus, tensile strength, and elongation at break from tensile tests and the storage and loss modulus and glass transition temperature from DMA. The anion exchange membranes behaved as stiff polymers with Young's modulus in the order of 1 GPa, relatively with high strength (about 30 MPa) and low elongation at break (around 10%) was observed. Tensile tests were also made with membranes exchanged with hydrogen‐carbonate and carbonate anions to control the absence of important carbonation of the OH form. The glass transition temperatures were of the order of 150 °C (PSU‐TMA) or 200 °C (PSU‐DABCO) for the hydroxide form, confirmed by differential scanning calorimetry; they increase further by about 50 K, when hydroxide ions are replaced by chloride. This result and the increase of the storage modulus could be interpreted by the higher hydration of hydroxide ions and the plasticizing effect of water, which reduced the Van der Waals interactions between the macromolecular chains. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(butylene succinate‐ran‐butylene azelate) random copolyesters were thermally fractionated by successive self‐nucleation and annealing (SSA). The samples before and after SSA were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X‐ray diffraction (WAXS and SAXS). WAXS results indicate that a small degree of comonomer inclusion is present in the crystalline phases that are formed in the copolymers depending on composition: a PBS‐like unit cell or/and a PBAz‐like unit cell, thus confirming the isodimorphic behavior of the samples. SSA on the other hand demonstrated that the degree of comonomer exclusion during crystallization is far larger than comonomer inclusion, as judged by the increase in fractionation degree with compositions leading to the pseudo‐eutectic point. Furthermore, WAXS, SAXS, and SSA results show that the isodimorphic behavior is not highly dependent on kinetic factors, as the degree of comonomer inclusion or exclusion in the samples was not significantly altered by SSA thermal fractionation, a thermal treatment that promotes annealing and molecular segregation of defects to the amorphous regions of the material. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report experimental observation of rains of solitons in figure-of-eight fiber laser passively mode-locked through nonlinear optical loop mirror. Soliton pulses are created from an extended noisy background and drift until they reach a condensed phase comprising several tens of aggregated solitons. The observation of this dynamics tends to strengthen the idea of the universality of the collective behavior of solitons.  相似文献

Ankyrins are cellular repeat proteins, which can be genetically modified to randomize amino-acid residues located at defined positions in each repeat unit, and thus create a potential binding surface adaptable to macromolecular ligands. From a phage-display library of artificial ankyrins, we have isolated AnkGAG1D4, a trimodular ankyrin which binds to the HIV-1 capsid protein N-terminal domain (NTDCA) and has an antiviral effect at the late steps of the virus life cycle. In this study, the determinants of the AnkGAG1D4-NTDCA interaction were analyzed using peptide scanning in competition ELISA, capsid mutagenesis, ankyrin crystallography and molecular modeling. We determined the AnkGAG1D4 structure at 2.2 Å resolution, and used the crystal structure in molecular docking with a homology model of HIV-1 capsid. Our results indicated that NTDCA alpha-helices H1 and H7 could mediate the formation of the capsid-AnkGAG1D4 binary complex, but the interaction involving H7 was predicted to be more stable than with H1. Arginine-18 (R18) in H1, and R132 and R143 in H7 were found to be the key players of the AnkGAG1D4-NTDCA interaction. This was confirmed by R-to-A mutagenesis of NTDCA, and by sequence analysis of trimodular ankyrins negative for capsid binding. In AnkGAG1D4, major interactors common to H1 and H7 were found to be S45, Y56, R89, K122 and K123. Collectively, our ankyrin-capsid binding analysis implied a significant degree of flexibility within the NTDCA domain of the HIV-1 capsid protein, and provided some clues for the design of new antivirals targeting the capsid protein and viral assembly.  相似文献

The performance of a cryogenically cooled double‐crystal silicon monochromator was studied under high‐heat‐load conditions with total absorbed powers and power densities ranging from 8 to 780 W and from 8 to 240 W mm?2, respectively. When the temperature of the first crystal is maintained close to the temperature of zero thermal expansion of silicon, the monochromator shows nearly ideal performance with a thermal slope error of 0.6 µrad. By tuning the size of the first slit, the regime of the ideal performance can be maintained over a wide range of heat loads, i.e. from power densities of 110 W mm?2 (at total absorbed power of 510 W) to 240 W mm?2 (at total absorbed power of 240 W).  相似文献

Matrix-valued functions analytic and contractive in the open unit disk (Schur functions) play an important role in system theory. They represent transfer functions of causal time-invariant dissipative systems. In this paper we show how a Schur function can still be associated to a k-periodic system. This function satisfies a certain symmetry condition (conditions (1.7) for k=2 and (4.4) for general k). We study a general bitangential interpolation problem for the Schur functions satisfying this symmetry condition.  相似文献
