N-(n-Alkyl)-N′-diphenylphosphorylureas as a new type of extractants for preconcentration of actinides and lanthanides

N-(n-Alkyl)-N′-diphenylphosphorylureas Ph₂P(O)NHC(O)NHC _n H_2n+1 (n = 6–10) were synthesized by the reaction of diphenylphosphoryl isocyanate with primary n-alkylamines C _n H_2n+1NH₂. The products (especially N-diphenylphosphoryl-N′-n-octylurea) are efficient extractants capable of extracting actinides and lanthanides from nitric acid solutions with high distribution coefficients. First cobalt (borole)arene complexes [(η-C4H4BOH)Co(arene)]+

Heating of (η-C₄H₄BCy)Co(CO)₂I (Cy is cyclohexyl) with arene ligands in the presence of AlCl₃ at 80 °C followed by hydrolysis afforded the [(η-C₄H₄BOH)Co(arene)]⁺ complexes (arene = C₆H₆ (2a), C₆H₅Me (2b), and 1,3-C₆H₄Me₂ (2c)). The starting iodide complex was synthesized by the reaction of [(η-C₄H₄BCy)Co(CO)₂]₂ with I₂. The structure of [2a]BPh₄ was established by X-ray diffraction. Hydroformylation of alkenes in supercritical carbon dioxide catalyzed by rhodium complexes with amidophosphite derivatives of carboranes

New carborane-containing amidophosphites are synthesized. Their effectiveness as ligands in the Rh-catalyzed hydroformylation of alkenes in supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO₂) is tested. It is shown that the use of carboranylamidophosphites makes it possible to achieve a high degree of conversion at a low catalyst loading. In the SC-CO₂ medium, the regioselectivity is higher as compared to the toluene medium.     

Synthesis and structure of 2,4-dinitrophenylcyanoacetamide derivatives as CH acids and their organic salts

C-Arylation of cyanoacetamides with chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene was performed in acetonitrile in presence of potassium carbonate. The CH acids obtained react with triethylamine or N-methylmorpholine to give salts that contain anions possessing highly conjugated system of unsaturated bonds.     

A convenient one‐pot synthesis of 1,2‐azaphospholanium salts

A novel facile one‐pot synthesis of the 1,2‐azaphospholanes by intramolecular alkylation of 3‐halopropyl amides of tricoordinate phosphorus has been suggested. Using this method, a series of the differently N‐substituted 1,2‐azaphospholanium salts were synthesized. 3‐Aminopropylphosphine oxides were obtained by hydrolysis of the salts. A probable mechanism of the 1,2‐azaphospholanium salts formation is discussed. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
