The environmental mobility/availability behavior of radionuclides in soils and sediments depends on their speciation. Experiments have been carried out to develop a simple but robust radionuclide sequential extraction method for identification of radionuclide partitioning in sediments and soils. The sequential extraction protocol was optimized for temperature, concentration of reagents and reaction time. Optimum extraction conditions were chosen based on the release of 239,240Pu, 238U and stable elements. Results from the experiments with lake sediment (SRM 4354) are compared to the previous trials where the sequential extraction protocol was optimized with the ocean sediment (SRM 4357). Based on these two trials the NIST standard sequential extraction protocol is established for defined extraction settings for temperature, reagent concentration and time.  相似文献

The key building blocks (6, 7, and 8) for the intended construction of the originally proposed structures of azaspiracid-1, a potent marine-derived neurotoxin, were coupled and the products elaborated to the targeted compounds (1a,b) and their C-20 epimers (2 and 3). The assembly of the three intermediates was accomplished by a dithiane-based coupling reaction that united the C(1)-C(20) (7) and C(21)-C(27) (8) fragments, followed by a Stille-type coupling which allowed the incorporation of the C(28)-C(40) fragment (6) into the growing substrate. Neither of the final products (1a,b) matched the natural substance by TLC or (1)H NMR spectroscopic analysis, suggesting one or more errors in the originally proposed structure for this notorious biotoxin.  相似文献

Hybrid particles of poly(methyl methacrylate) and carboxymethylcellulose, PMMA/CMC, were attached to atomic force microscopy cantilevers and probed against concanavalin A (ConA) films formed either on Si wafers or on CMC substrate. Regardless of the substrate, the approach curves showed different inclinations, indicating that the probe first touches a soft surface and then a hard substrate. The distance corresponding to the soft layer was estimated as 20 +/- 10 nm and was attributed to the CMC layers attached to the hybrid particles surfaces. Probing PMMA/CMC particles against ConA adsorbed onto Si wafers yielded retract curves with a sawlike pattern. The average range of adhesion forces (maximum pull-off distance) and mean adhesion force were estimated as 100 +/- 40 nm and -11 +/- 7 nN, respectively, evidencing multiple adhesions between CMC sugar residues and ConA. However, upon probing against ConA adsorbed onto CMC substrates, the mean pull-off distance and mean adhesion force were reduced to 37 +/- 18 nm and -3 +/- 1 nN, respectively, indicating that the ConA molecules immobilized onto CMC films are less available to interact with the hybrid particle than the ConA molecules adsorbed onto Si wafers. Another set of experiments, where PMMA/CMC particle probed against ConA-covered Si wafers in the presence of mannose, showed that the addition of mannose led to a considerable decrease in the mean adhesion force from -11 +/- 7 to -3 +/- 1 nN. Two hypotheses have been considered to explain the effect caused by mannose addition. The first suggested the desorption of ConA from the substrate so that the hybrid particle would probe bare Si wafer (weak adhesion). The second proposed the adsorption of mannose onto the ConA layer so that mannose layer would probe against another mannose layer, leading to low adhesion forces. In situ ellipsometry and capillary electrophoresis have been applied to check the hypotheses.  相似文献

Previous studies indicate that in brain tissue the endocannabinoid 2-AG is inactivated by monoglyceride lipase (MGL)-catalyzed hydrolysis, and a recent report has indicated that MGL activity could be specifically inhibited by URB754 . In the present study, URB754 failed to inhibit 2-AG hydrolysis in rat brain preparations. In addition, brain cryosections were employed to assess whether URB754 could facilitate the detection of 2-AG-stimulated G protein activity. Nevertheless, whereas pretreatment with PMSF readily allowed detection of 2-AG-stimulated G protein activity, URB754 was ineffective. In contrast to previous claims, brain FAAH activity was also resistant to URB754. Thus, in our hands URB754 was not able to block the endocannabinoid-hydrolyzing enzymes and cannot serve as a lead structure for future development of MGL-specific inhibitors.  相似文献

Knowledge of ionicity is requisite for successful identification of those salt qualities required to design and couple the most appropriate fluid for performance of an intended chemical function. We report on utilisation of (35)Cl(-) quadrupolar coupling constants (C(Q)) to quantitatively assess the ionicities of given chloride salts, by exploiting the electronic response of the quadrupolar chlorine atom as a function of its immediate chemical environment. We find that protic salts in particular, like their aprotic analogues, are highly ionised, while at the same time being highly associated, in stark contrast to literature reports claiming in general that they are of sub-ionic origin.  相似文献

Thermal behavior of mixtures composed of cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB), carboxymethylcellulose acetate butyrate (CMCAB), or cellulose acetate phthalate (CAPh), and sorbitan-based surfactants was investigated as a function of mixture composition by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Surfactants with three different alkyl chain lengths, namely, polyoxyethylenesorbitan monolaurate (Tween 20), polyoxyethylenesorbitan monopalmitate (Tween 40), and polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearate (Tween 60) were chosen. DSC measurements revealed that Tween 20, 40, and 60 act as plasticizers for CAB, CMCAB, and CAPh (except for Tween 60), leading to a dramatic reduction of glass transition temperature (T g). The dependence of experimental T g values on the mixture composition was compared with theoretical predictions using the Fox equation. Plasticization was strongly dependent on mixture composition, surfactant hydrophobic chain length, and type of cellulose ester functional group.  相似文献

A standardization method for NAA has been developed based on the activation equation and on isotope-related k i -values that are composite nuclear constants. This approach combines the simplicity of the absolute methods with nearly the same accuracy as that obtained by the relative ones. The k i -constants are calculated from the well measured k 0-factors and the neutron flux is determined as with the k 0-method. A computer program was developed for the determination of the neutron flux parameters and the concentration of the trace element. These calculations start with the measured activity of the radionuclides.  相似文献

Strain-compensated GaInNAs/GaAsP quantum well structures and lasers were grown by gas source molecular beam epitaxy using a RF-plasma nitrogen radical beam source. The optimal growth condition for the quantum well structure was determined based on room-temperature photoluminescence measurements. Effects of rapid thermal annealing (RTA) on the optical properties of GaInNAs/GaAsP quantum well structures as well as laser diodes are examined. It was found to significantly increase the photoluminescence from the quantum wells and reduce the threshold current density of the lasers, due to a removal of N induced nonradiative centers from GaInNAs wells.  相似文献
