The goal of this work was to determine whether the frequency dependence of apparent backscatter coefficient (not corrected for attenuation within the myocardium) could differentiate completed, remote infarction from acute myocardial injury in vivo. Myocardial infarcts were produced in six dogs by coronary artery occlusion. One to 12 months later, acute ischemic injury was induced in each dog by ligation of a coronary artery that supplied a region of myocardium adjacent to the established infarct. Infarct, ischemic, and normal regions were interrogated with a 5-MHz, circular, 0.5-in. diam, broadband, focused, piezoelectric transducer mounted in a water-filled stand-off device placed against the exposed, beating heart. Apparent backscatter coefficients were measured over the range of frequencies from 3-7 MHz. The frequency dependence was obtained from the slope of log apparent backscatter coefficient versus log frequency. No significant difference in frequency dependence was found between normal and acutely ischemic myocardium for periods of up to 2 h of ischemia. In contrast, frequency dependence in regions of remote infarct (1.8 +/- 0.1, mean +/- standard error) was significantly lower than that in acutely ischemic or nonischemic regions (2.3 +/- 0.1) (p less than 0.01). These results suggest that remote myocardial infarction can be differentiated from acutely injured but still potentially salvageable myocardium in vivo on the basis of the frequency dependence of backscatter. 相似文献
Fe60Mn10Al20Nb10, (Fe60Mn10Al30)95Nb5 and (Fe60Mn10Al30)90Nb10 ball milled powdered alloys were investigated using X-ray diffraction, Mössbauer spectrometry, thermomagnetic (TGM) and magnetization measurements. We studied the influence of Nb content and of different milling times on the structural and magnetic properties. Two main features can be concluded: (1) the FeAlMn induces a BCC phase whatever the Nb content is, and (2) as both increasing Nb content and milling time give rise to an highly disordered state in conjunction with a decrease of the ferromagnetic behavior. 相似文献
Mixing liquids at the micro-scale is difficult because the low Reynolds numbers in microchannels and in microreactors prohibit the use of conventional mixing techniques based on mechanical actuators and induce turbulence. Static mixers can be used to solve this mixing problem. This paper presents micromixers with geometries very close to conventional large-scale static mixers used in the chemical and food-processing industry. Two kinds of geometries have been studied. The first type is composed of a series of stationary rigid elements that form intersecting channels to split, rearrange and combine component streams. The second type is composed of a series of short helix elements arranged in pairs, each pair comprised of a right-handed and left-handed element arranged alternately in a pipe. Micromixers of both types have been designed by CAD and manufactured with the integral microstereolithography process, a new microfabrication technique that allows the manufacturing of complex three-dimensional objects in polymers. The realized mixers have been tested experimentally. Numerical simulations of these micromixers using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) program FLUENT are used to evaluate the mixing efficiency. With a low pressure drop and good mixing efficiency these truly three-dimensional micromixers can be used for mixing of reactants or liquids containing cells in many microTAS applications. 相似文献
Summary A new technique is described for the identification of the chloride ion through the formation of chromyl chloride, based on the extraction of the latter with carbon tetrachloride. The identification limit is 2g of chloride. It is possible to carry out the test in the presence of many other anions, including fluoride, which cannot be present when the traditional distillation technique is employed.
Zusammenfassung Vorgeschlagen wird eine neue Technik zum Chloridnachweis durch Bildung von Chromylchlorid. Dieser Nachweis beruht auf der Extraktion des Chromylchlorids mit Tetrachlorkohlenstoff. Die Nachweisgrenze liegt bei 2g Chlorid, wobei die Möglichkeit besteht, den Test auch in Gegenwart von Fluorid durchzuführen, das bei Anwendung der üblichen Destillationsmethoden nicht anwesend sein darf.
Blackbox optimization tackles problems where the functions are expensive to evaluate and where no analytical information is available. In this context, a tried and tested technique is to build surrogates of the objective and the constraints in order to conduct the optimization at a cheaper computational cost. This work introduces an extension to a specific type of surrogates: ensembles of surrogates, enabling them to quantify the uncertainty on the predictions they produce. The resulting extended ensembles of surrogates behave as stochastic models and allow the use of efficient Bayesian optimization tools. The method is incorporated in the search step of the mesh adaptive direct search (MADS) algorithm to improve the exploration of the search space. Computational experiments are conducted on seven analytical problems, two multi-disciplinary optimization problems and two simulation problems. The results show that the proposed approach solves expensive simulation-based problems at a greater precision and with a lower computational effort than stochastic models.
The -radiolysis of solutions of benzene and naphthalene in carbon tetrachloride has been studied to obtain information about chlorination reactions. The position of naphthalene showed a reactivity 2.5 higher with respect to benzene, while the absence of 2-chloronaphthalene among the products confirmed the relatively high activation energy required for the attack in position. 相似文献
