Molecular structure of (diethyldithiocarbomoyl)diphenylthiophosphinate

X-Ray study of (diethyldithiocarbomoyl)diphenylthiophosphinate was carried out. AZ-conformation of the diethyldithiocarbomoyl ligand, which results in a short nonvalent intramolecular P...S contact (3.315 Å), is realized in the molecule. Synthesis and modeling study of (2S,5R,6R)- and (2S,5R,6S)-6-hydroxy- 8-(1-decynyl)-benzolactam-V8 as protein kinase C modulators

[structures: see text] Both (2S,5R,6R)- and (2S,5R,6S)-6-hydroxy-8-(1-decynyl)benzolactam-V8 were designed and synthesized as PKC modulators. Biological assays reveal the (6R)-ligand to be 20-fold more potent than its (6S)-counterpart in binding to PKC alpha.     

Reaction of α-α'-dichloro-substituted 1,5-diketones with ammonia and ammonium acetate

Under the influence of ammonia or ammonium acetate, -'-dichloro-substituted 1,5-diketones undergo heterocyclization to give -chloropyridines or 2-benzoylpyrrole derivatives. Electrophilic addition of lead tetraacetate to 2-carene in an acidic medium

Oxidation of 2-carene by lead tetraacetate in acetic acid afforded p-menth-1(10),2-dien-7-ol, 2-acetyl-6,6-dimethylbicyclo[3.1.0]hexane, p-menth-2-ene-1,7-diol, p-menth-1-ene-3,7-diol, and 2-(m-tolyl)propanol-2.Deceased.A. Total synthesis of polycavernoside A, a lethal toxin of the red alga Polycavernosa tsudai

[structure: see text] Two approaches to the synthesis of the aglycon 120 of polycavernoside A (1) were developed, only one of which was completed. The successful "second-generation" route assembled the aglycon seco acids 102 and 106 via Nozaki-Hiyama-Kishi coupling of aldehyde 70, prepared from methyl (S)-3-hydroxy-2-methylpropionate (72) and (S)-pantolactone (73), with vinyl bromide 71. The latter was obtained from a sequence which commenced from the silyl ether 24 of 3-hydroxypropionaldehyde and entailed cyclization of (Z)-zeta-hydroxy-alpha,beta-unsaturated ester 82. Regioselective Yamaguchi lactonization of trihydroxycarboxylic acids 102 and 106 and subsequent functional-group adjustments led to macrolactone 120, to which the fucopyranosylxylopyranoside moiety was attached. Stille coupling of the glycosidated aglycon 128 with dienylstannane 129 furnished polycavernoside A in a synthesis for which the longest linear sequence was 25 steps. The overall yield to lactone 120 was 4.7%.     

Structural, textural, and electronic properties of a nanosized mesoporous ZnxTi1-xO2-) solid solution prepared by a supercritical drying route

Mesoporous nanosized TiO2 and Zn(x)Ti(1-x)O(2-x) solid solution having a Zn content below 10 mol % with a particles size between 13 and 17 nm are prepared by a template-free sol-gel method followed by high-temperature supercritical drying in 2-propanol. The structural, textural, and electronic properties of the obtained nanomaterials are methodically investigated by using XRD, SEM, TEM, ED, HREM, EDX, ICP-OES, N(2) adsorption-desorption, Raman spectroscopy, and diffuse reflectance UV-vis spectroscopy. It is shown that the proposed synthesis technique leads to the formation of a Zn(x)Ti(1-x)O(2-x) solid solution based on the anatase crystal structure rather than a two-phase sample. High-resolution electron microscopy and electron diffraction indicate that the distribution of zinc atoms over the anatase structure does not lead to a considerable deformation of the crystal structure.     

Structure of the P-diastereomer of 1,2;3,4;5,6-tris-O-(diethyl-amidothionephosphate)galactite,C18H38N3O6P3S3

Conclusions An x-ray diffraction structural analysis showed that the P-diastereomer of 1,2;3,4;5,6-tris-O-(diethylamidothionephosphate)galactite (C₁₈H₃₈N₃O₆P₃S₁₈) with melting point 178.5-179C has terminal dioxaphospholane rings in a cis arrangement. One of these rings has planar conformation, while the other has twist conformation. These rings also differ in the configuration of the phosphorus atom. Electronic structure of saturated hydrocarbons in the semi-empirical equivalent orbital method

The problem of obtaining the matrix elements of Hartree-Fock Hamiltonians for alkanes using the EO method is considered. It has been shown that the data on the electronic structure of diamond together witht ₁/e splitting in the neopentane photoelectron spectrum are helpful to produce such EO method parameter scale which involves even “through space” interactions. In terms of the EO method the photoelectron spectra of propane, butane, isobutane, and neopentane are interpreted. The valence band structure of polyethylene in analytical form is obtained.     

Synthesis and alkylation ofN-methylmorpholinium 6-amino-3,5-dicyano-4-methylpyridine-2-thiolate

The condensation of acetaldehyde with a twofold excess of cyanothioacetamide andN-methylmorpholine givesN-methylmorpholinium 6-amino-3,5-dicyano-4-methylpyridine-2-thiolate. This compound is also formed by recyclization of 2,6-diamino-3,5-dicyano-4-methyl-4H-thiopyran. From this pyridinethiolate, several substituted 2-alkylthiopyridines and 3,6-diamino-5-cyano-4-methyl-2-methoxycarbonylthieno[2,3-b]pyridine were obtained.     

Novel radial oligothienyl silanes

A series of thiophene-based homologues with a silicon core surrounded by mono-, bi-, terthiophene, and their derivatives with alkylsilyl linkages has been prepared using hydrosilylation and Stille coupling methods.
