The multidisciplinary, noninvasive analysis of baroque amber artworks is part of a research project that deals with the most valuable objects from the Museum of Gdansk (Poland). The two most interesting objects will be presented here: a Baroque Gdansk wardrobe-shaped amber cabinet (made by Johann Georg Zernebach, Gdansk, 1724) and a crucifix (Gdansk, 17th century). Macro- (UV, IR, and X-radiography) and micro- (XRF and Raman spectroscopy) analytical methods were applied to reveal traces of old conservation treatments and uncover the techniques of the 17th and 18th century amber masters. UV photography shows the differences between the amber plates that are not so easily detected under visible light, while XRF spectrometry detects elements atypical for amber objects, suggesting previous conservation treatments. Confocal Raman measurements, especially Raman depth profiling, were performed for the amber artworks and allowed to detect areas of previous conservation treatments. Single-point scans were collected from the surface (0 μm) to a depth of −200 μm, with a step of 50 μm. The results allowed us to identify three different types of zones: where the amber was preserved without any protective layer, places where the amber was covered with a thin layer of a protective substance, and places where amber elements were compensated for loss using a binding agent and filler. The presented project allowed the development of a comprehensive methodology for the analysis of amber objects, especially to optimize the capabilities of confocal Raman microscopy. The combination of macro- and microanalytical techniques made it possible to obtain a broad overview of such complex artworks while optimizing the time and effort spent on the investigations.  相似文献

The structures and electronic properties of a series of cyclometalated Ir(III) complexes with substituted dppz ancillary ligand (dppz: dipyrido[3,2-a:2′,3′-c]phenazine) including tert-butyl, pyrrolidine ring, and alkoxys substituents as donor group have been theoretically study. With the aim of highlight the attractive qualities of each system for their use as luminescent material, the effects of the electron-donor substituents onto dppz was evaluated on the structural, charge transport, absorption, and phosphorescent properties. The effect of the substituent was studied on the modulation of the bright and dark triplet states. Main results show that ortho-methoxy and tert-butyl substituents act as lower electron-donating groups, then, efficient electron donation ability was displayed with alkoxy (ethoxy and propoxy) substituents. The best performance was found in a complex with pyrrolidine ring according since their phosphorescence is favored, highlighting their larger electric transition dipole moment value, proposing this system as potential candidate to LEC technology.  相似文献

When a molecular compound is thermodynamically unstable (but kinetically persistent) with respect to the elements, structures that contain segregated layers of the elements may be favored at moderate pressures, as a compromise between the potential stability of novel electronic configurations and decomposition into the elements (or other stable compounds). We use stannane, SnH4, to approach this quite general problem theoretically, since the heat of formation of SnH4 is so positive. Our ground‐state DFT searches for optimal structures begin with slabs formed from 1–4 layers of tin atoms in the β‐Sn and bcc configurations, and also slabs of molecular hydrogen or hydrogen atoms, preserving the overall SnH4 stoichiometry. As argued, segregated layers are an important structural feature in the lower‐ and moderate‐pressure regime (0 and 50 GPa). By 140 GPa (V/V0=0.21) the coordination of tin and hydrogen increases and the slabs disappear, as judged from the optimized structures.  相似文献

Rhodium-catalyzed decomposition of aryldiazoacetates in the presence of pyrroles or furans results in mono- or biscyclopropanation of the heterocycle, but with opposite enantioinduction. In the absence of sterically encumbering groups, the cyclopropanation of furan occurs with initial bond formation at the 2-position. If this pathway is sterically blocked, cyclopropanation can occur with initial bond formation at the 3-position of the furan ring; in this case, the cyclopropanation reaction takes place on the opposite face of the heterocycle, and the opposite enantioinduction is observed. Upon extension of this methodology to benzofurans, a highly enantioselective monocyclopropanation reaction occurs to furnish a product derived from initial bond formation at the 2-position of the benzofuran. When this reaction pathway is inhibited by sterically encumbering substituents on the benzofuran, no cyclopropanation of the furan ring is observed, and instead, double cyclopropanation of the benzene ring occurs. Double cyclopropanation of the benzene ring was also observed in reactions with indoles.  相似文献
