N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-palladium(II) complex (GO@NHC-Pd) was synthesized on graphene oxide (GO) support via a simple and cost-effective multistep approach. The spectroscopic, microscopic, thermal, and surface analyses of GO@NHC-Pd confirmed the successful formation of the catalyst. The investigation of catalytic activity showed that GO@NHC-Pd was very effective in Suzuki–Miyaura as well as Hiyama cross-coupling. Being heterogeneous in nature, GO@NHC-Pd was recovered after each reaction cycle easily and reused for up to nine and six cycles in Suzuki–Miyaura and Hiyama cross-coupling, respectively, without significant loss of activity. Further exploration of the supercapacitor performance of GO@NHC-Pd catalyst assembled in a two-electrode cell configuration shown a maximum attained capacitance of 105.26 F/g at a current density of 0.1 A/g with good cycling stability of 96.89% over 2,500 cycles. 相似文献

The behaviour of alginate gel film in response to the tensile load is analysed in this paper. The bubbles of 0.5?mm diameter were embedded in the film by the fluidic method prior to gelation, thus providing uniform voidage over the entire film. Further, the intrinsic porosity of the gel matrix around the voids was varied by removing water through either evaporation under vacuum, or employing lyophilisation. The Poisson’s ratio and the modulus of elasticity were estimated from direct measurements. The viscoelasticity of the gel matrix was characterized from stress-relaxation measurement. The transient response to tensile loading and the evolution of stress contours were studied through numerical simulation in ANSYS. The ultimate strength was studied for the gel films with embedded voids of different sizes. The numerical simulations were validated by experimental measurements. 相似文献

Potential of mean force (PMF) calculations provide a reliable method for determination of the absolute binding free energies for protein-ligand systems. The common method used for this purpose -- umbrella sampling with weighted histogram analysis -- is computationally very laborious, which limits its applications. Recently, a much simpler alternative for PMF calculations has become available, namely, using Jarzynski's equality in steered molecular dynamics simulations. So far, there have been a few comparisons of the two methods and mostly in simple systems that do not reflect the complexities of protein-ligand systems. Here, we use both methods to calculate the PMF for ion permeation and ligand binding to ion channels. Comparison of results indicate that Jarzynski's method suffers from relaxation problems in complex systems and would require much longer simulation times to yield reliable PMFs for protein-ligand systems. 相似文献

Ternary 3d -metal complexes [M(Tp (Ph))(B)](ClO 4) ( 1- 8), where M is Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II), Tp (Ph) is anionic tris(3-phenylpyrazolyl)borate, and B is N,N-donor heterocyclic base, namely, 1,10-phenanthroline (phen, 1- 4) and dipyrido[3,2- d:2',3'- f]quinoxaline (dpq, 5- 8), were prepared from a reaction of the perchlorate salt of the metal with KTp (Ph) and B in CH 2Cl 2. The complexes were characterized by various physicochemical methods. 4- 6 and 8 were structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The crystal structures of the complexes show the presence of discrete cationic complexes having a square-pyramidal (4 + 1) coordination geometry in which two nitrogen atoms of the phenanthroline base (B) and two nitrogen atoms of the Tp (Ph) ligand occupy the basal plane and one nitrogen of the Tp (Ph) ligand binds at the axial site. The phenyl groups of the Tp (Ph) form a bowl-shaped structure that essentially encloses the {M(phen/dpq)} moiety. DNA-binding studies were carried out using various spectral techniques and from viscosity measurements. The complexes show moderate binding propensity to calf thymus DNA at the minor groove, giving binding constant values ( K b) of approximately 10 (4) M (-1). The complexes exhibit poor DNA-cleavage activity in the dark in the presence of 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) or hydrogen peroxide (H 2O 2). The photoinduced DNA-cleavage activity of the complexes was investigated using UV-A radiation of 365 nm and visible light of two different wavelengths with a tunable multicolor Ar-Kr mixed gas ion laser source. The dpq complexes show efficient photoinduced DNA-cleavage activity via a metal-assisted photoexcitation process involving the formation of singlet oxygen as the cleavage active species in a type-II pathway. The paramagnetic d (7)-Co(II)-dpq and d (9)-Cu(II)-dpq complexes exhibit efficient DNA-cleavage activity in visible light. The paramagnetic d (8)-Ni(II)-dpq complex displays only minor DNA-cleavage activity in visible light. Diamagnetic d (10)-Zn(II)-dpq complex shows only UV-A light-induced DNA cleavage but no apparent DNA-cleavage activity in visible light. Steric protection of the photoactive quinoxaline moiety of the dpq ligand inside the hydrophobic {M(Tp (Ph))} molecular bowl has a positive effect on the photoinduced DNA-cleavage activity. 相似文献

Mutations in multi-domain leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) have been an interest to researchers as these mutations are associated with Parkinson's disease. G2019S mutation in LRRK2 kinase domain leads to the formation of additional hydrogen bonds by S2019 which results in stabilization of the active state of the kinase, thereby increasing kinase activity. Two additional hydrogen bonds of S2019 are reported separately. Here, a mechanistic picture of the formation of additional hydrogen bonds of S2019 with Q1919 (also with E1920) is presented using ‘active’ Roco4 kinase as a homology model and its relationship with the stabilization of the ‘active’ G2019S LRRK2 kinase. A conformational flipping of residue Q1919 was found which helped to form stable hydrogen bond with S2019 and made ‘active’ state more stable in G2019S LRRK2. Two different states were found within the ‘active’ kinase with respect to the conformational change (flipping) in Q1919. Two doubly-mutated systems, G2019S/Q1919A and G2019S/E1920 K, were studied separately to check the effect of Q1919 and E1920. For both cases, the stable S2 state was not formed, leading to a decrease in kinase activity. These results indicate that both the additional hydrogen bonds of S2019 (with Q1919 and E1920) are necessary to stabilize the active G2019S LRRK2. 相似文献

The Na3[Ru2(μ-CO3)4] complex is acting as a water oxidation catalyst in a homogeneous system. Due to the significance of heterogeneous systems and the effect of bicarbonate on the kinetic, we studied the bicarbonate effect on the heterogeneous electrocatalyst by entrapping the Na3[Ru2(μ-CO3)4] complex in a sol-gel matrix. We have developed two types of sol-gel electrodes, which differ by the precursor, and are demonstrating their stability over a minimum of 200 electrochemical cycles. The pH increases affected the currents and kcat for both types of electrodes, and their hydrophobicity, which was obtained from the precursor type, influenced the electrocatalytic process rate. The results indicate that NaHCO3 has an important role in the catalytic activity of the presented heterogeneous systems; without NaHCO3, the diffusing species is probably OH−, which undergoes diffusion via the Grotthuss mechanism. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to present a simple and fast one-step entrapment process for the Na3[Ru2(μ-CO3)4] complex by the sol-gel method under standard laboratory conditions. The results contribute to optimizing the WSP, ultimately helping expand the usage of hydrogen as a green and more readily available energy source. 相似文献

ABSTRACTA three-component model on the structure of colloidal solution with size asymmetric electrolytes is attempted here using density functional theory and Monte Carlo simulation. The solvent is represented as an individual component along with that as a dielectric continuum. The theory uses a weighted density approximation for the hard-sphere contribution to the free energy, whereas the ionic contribution is evaluated through a perturbation expansion around the bulk density. The theory is found to reproduce the simulation data quite well for a wide range of parametric conditions. The present study reflects the importance of the presence of the solvent in determining the structural behaviour of spherical double layers. 相似文献
