Elementary formulas for a hyperbolic tetrahedron

We derive some elementary formulas expressing the relation between the dihedral angles and edge lengths of a tetrahedron in hyperbolic space.     

Conformation of the keto form of fluorine-containing β-ketoesters

Conclusions The conformation of the keto form of fluorine-containing -ketoesters is determined by the orientation of the ester group with eclipsing of the carbonyl by a C-H bond and the different orientation of the perfluoroacyl group with eclipsing of the carbonyl by both the C-C and C-H bonds with predominance of the latter.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 6, pp. 1412–1415, June, 1987.     

Shell corrections to the deformation energies of very high spin nuclei (I ≲ 100)

Deformation energies at spins I ? 100 of 16 rare earth nuclei have been calculated including shell corrections obtained by a straightforward generalization of the Strutinsky method. Largely deformed shapes are predicted for some high rotational states.     

Crystal structure of 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoro-3-aminohex-3-en-5-one and isomerization of β-aminovinylketones and β-aminovinylthiones containing fluorine

The x-ray structure of 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoro-3-aminohex-3-en-5-one has been solved. Isomerization of -aminovinylketones and -aminovinylthiones containing fluorine occurs with significant rearrangement of the molecular packing in the crystal apparently through a bimolecular mechanism.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 5, pp. 1048–1051, May, 1990.     

Investigation of the chemistry of phenoxazines

Depending on the position of the annelated benzene ring, benzophenoxazinones add thiophenols in the benzenoid, quinonoid, or both parts of the molecule to give mono- or diarylmercapto derivatives. A substituent in the benzenoid portion of the molecule hinders polarographic reduction and shifts the visible absorption band bathochromically, while a substituent in the quinonoid portion has practically no effect on the E_1/2 value.See [1] for communication IV.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 10, pp. 1345–1350, October, 1972
