Detailed chemical mechanisms have to be incorporated in turbulent combustion modelling to predict flame propagation, ignition, extinction or pollutant formation. Unfortunately, hundreds of species and thousands of elementary reactions are involved in hydrocarbon chemical schemes and cannot be handled in practical simulations, because of the related computational costs and the need to model the complexity of their interaction with turbulent motions. Detailed chemistry may be handled using look-up tables, where chemical parameters such as reaction rates and/or species mass fractions are determined from a reduced set of coordinates, progress variables or mixture fractions, as proposed in ILDM, FPI or FGM methods. Nevertheless, these tables may require large computer memory spaces and non-negligible access times. This issue becomes of crucial importance when running on massively parallel computers: to implement these databases in shared memories would induce a large number of data exchanges, reducing the overall code performance; on the other hand duplicating databases in every local processor memory may become impossible either for large databases or small local memories. This work proposes to take advantage of the self-similar behaviour of turbulent premixed flames to reduce the size of these chemical databases, specifically when running on massively parallel machines, under the FPI (Flame Prolongation of ILDM) framework. Several approaches to reduce the database are investigated and discussed both in terms of memory requirements and access times. A very good compromise is obtained for methane–air turbulent premixed flames, where the size of the database is decreased by a factor of 1000, while the access time is reduced by about 60%.  相似文献

Complementary shapes of the neutral symmetrical halogen-bond bis-donor core and octahedral inorganic cluster core prevent halogen-bonded polymers developing in more than one direction, favouring further templating by conducting radical cation slabs and yielding an 8 : 1 : 1 phase formulation instead of n : 2 : 1, with a 2D net, or m : 3 : 1, with a pseudo-cubic architecture, which may in principle also be targeted.  相似文献

The composition of the essential oil of Cistus albidus (L.) obtained from plants growing wild in Provence (France) has been investigated using GC-RI (RI = retention indices), GC/MS and (13)C-NMR. Eighty-eight components were reported accounting for 81.8% of the essential oil. This essential oil was characterized by a high content of sesquiterpenes with alpha-zingiberene (12.8%), alpha-curcumene (7.7%), (E)-beta-caryophyllene (5.9%), alpha-cadinol (5.4%), alpha-bisabolol (4.1%), caryophyllene oxide (3.8%), allo-aromadendrene (3.4%), delta-cadinene (3.4%), and germacrene D (3.1%) being the main components.  相似文献

The molecular structures and enthalpy release of poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers binding to 1,2-dimyristoyl- sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DMPC) bilayers were explored through atomistic molecular dynamics. Three PAMAM dendrimer terminations were examined: protonated primary amine, neutral acetamide, and deprotonated carboxylic acid. Fluid and gel lipid phases were examined to extract the effects of lipid tail mobility on the binding of generation-3 dendrimers, which are directly relevant to the nanoparticle interactions involving lipid rafts, endocytosis, lipid removal, and/or membrane pores. Upon binding to gel phase lipids, dendrimers remained spherical, had a constant radius of gyration, and approximately one-quarter of the terminal groups were in close proximity to the lipids. In contrast, upon binding to fluid phase bilayers, dendrimers flattened out with a large increase in their asphericity and radii of gyration. Although over twice as many dendrimer-lipid contacts were formed on fluid versus gel phase lipids, the dendrimer-lipid interaction energy was only 20% stronger. The greatest enthalpy release upon binding was between the charged dendrimers and the lipid bilayer. However, the stronger binding to fluid versus gel phase lipids was driven by the hydrophobic interactions between the inner dendrimer and lipid tails.  相似文献

The ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic wave functions of the KMnF3 perovskite have been evaluated quantum-mechanically by using an all electron approach and, for comparison, pseudopotentials on the transition metal and the fluorine ions. It is shown that the different number of α and β electrons in the d shell of Mn perturbs the inner shells, with shifts between the α and β eigenvalues that can be as large as 6 eV for the 3s level, and is far from negligible also for the 2s and 2p states. The valence electrons of F are polarized by the majority spin electrons of Mn, and in turn, spin polarize their 1s electrons. When a pseudopotential is used, such a spin polarization of the core functions of Mn and F can obviously not take place. The importance of such a spin polarization can be appreciated by comparing (i) the spin density at the Mn and F nuclear position, and then the Fermi contact constant, a crucial quantity for the hyperfine coupling, and (ii) the ferromagnetic–antiferromagnetic energy difference, when obtained with an all electron or a pseudopotential scheme, and exploring how the latter varies with pressure. This difference is as large as 50% of the all electron datum, and is mainly due to the rigid treatment of the F ion core. The effect of five different functionals on the core spin polarization is documented.  相似文献

Many cold habitats contain plenty of microorganisms that represent the most abundant cold-adapted life forms on earth. These organisms have developed a wide range of adaptations that involve the cell wall of the microorganism. In particular, bacteria enhance the synthesis of unsaturated fatty acids of membrane lipids to maintain the membrane fluidity, but very little is known about the adaptational changes in the structure of the lipopolysaccharides (LPSs), the main constituent of the outer leaflet of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. The aim of this study was to investigate the chemical structure of these LPSs for insight into the temperature-adaptation mechanism. For this objective, the cold-adapted Psychromonas arctica bacterium, which lives in the arctic sea-water near Spitzbergen (Svalbard islands, Arctic) was cultivated at 4 degrees C. The lipooligosaccharides (LOSs) were isolated and analysed by means of chemical analysis and electrospray ionisation high-resolution Fourier transform mass spectrometry. The LOS was then degraded either by mild hydrazinolysis (O-deacylation) or with hot 4 M KOH (N-deacylation). Both products were investigated in detail by using 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. The core consists of a mixture of species that differ because of the presence of nonstoichiometric D-fructose and/or D-galacturonic acid units.  相似文献

The dynamics of the enolic form of acetylacetone (E-AcAc) was investigated using a femtosecond pump-probe experiment. The pump at 266 nm excited E-AcAc in the first bright state, S2(pi pi*). The resulting dynamics was probed by multiphoton ionization at 800 nm. It was investigated for 80 ps on the S2(pi pi*) and S1(n pi*) potential energy surfaces. An important step is the transfer from S2 to S1 that occurs with a time constant of 1.4 +/- 0.2 ps. Before, the system had left the excitation region in 70 +/- 10 fs. An intermediate step was identified when E-AcAc traveled on the S2 surface. Likely, it corresponds to an accidental resonance in the detection scheme that is met along this path. More importantly, some clues are given that an intramolecular vibrational energy relaxation is observed, which transfers excess vibrational energy from the enolic group O-H to the other modes of the molecule. The present multistep evolution of excited E-AcAc probably also describes, at least qualitatively, the dynamics of other electronically excited beta-diketones.  相似文献

The LNA dinucleotide mimic of TpT whose two-sugar puckers are locked in the C3'-endo conformation selectively produces the corresponding cyclobutane pyrimidine dimer under 254 nm irradiation. In the natural series (TpT) the sugar puckers are in a major C2'-endo sugar conformation and the (6-4) photoproduct is also produced. Consequently, this study demonstrates that the C2'-endo conformation of the sugar pucker is necessary for (6-4) photoproduct formation.  相似文献

A series of 2D metals, beta-(BDT-TTP)6[Re6Se6Cl8] x (CHCl2-CHCl2)2, 2; beta-(ST-TTP)6[Re6S6Cl8] x (CH2Cl-CHCl2)2, 3; beta-(BDT-TTP)7[Re6S6Cl8]0.5[Re6S7Cl7]0.5 x (CH2Cl2), 4; beta-(BDT-TTP)7[Re6Se6Cl8]0.5[Re6S7Cl7]0.5 x (CH2Cl2), 5; beta-(BDT-TTP)8[Re6S7Cl7] x (CH2Cl2)4, 6 (BDT-TTP and ST-TTP are 2,5-bis(1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene and 2-(1,3-diselenol-2-ylidene)-5(1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene, respectively) is reported to have one single beta-slab layered topology despite successive increases of the cluster anion negative charge. The charge density within the templating composite inorganic-neutral molecule slab is shown to remain above a threshold of ca. one negative charge per square nanometer, that is, for cluster anions with two negative charges and higher. Conversely, discrete stacks are shown to be stabilized instead in the semiconducting salts (BDT-TTP)2[Re6S5Cl9], 1 where the cluster anion bears one negative charge only. The electronic structure of salts 2-6 is shown to be very stable and kept almost intact across the series. The templating strategy is shown to fulfill its anticipated potential for deliberate installment of incommensurate band fillings in molecular metals. The deliberate admixture of the 6:1 and 8:1 structures yields novel phases with a 7:1 stoichiometry with the anticipated crystal and electronic structures. The action at the organic-inorganic interface triggered by changing the anion charge yet keeping its shape and volume identical, which ultimately governs the shape of the unit cell, is of paramount importance in defining the Fermi surface of these metallic salts. The present BDT-TTP salts thus provide a series of materials with strongly related but subtly different Fermi surfaces worthy of many physical studies. Shubnikov-de Haas measurements are expected to be particularly interesting since they are especially sensitive to the details of the Fermi surface.  相似文献
