Synthesis, structure, and properties of allylamino glycosides

Glycosylation of allylamine with D-glucose, D-galactose, and D-mannose in dry primary aliphatic alcohols was studied. The structures of the resulting N-allyl glycosylamines were established, and their reactivities were studied. It was found that N-allyl glycosylamines tend to structural isomerization involving a change in ring size and do not tend to radical polymerization in the presence of azo initiators.     

A physicochemical study of the structure of polymers derived from 2-deoxy-<Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-methacryloylamido-<Emphasis Type="Italic">D</Emphasis>-glucose and their conjugates with ligands of various molecular sizes

Conjugates of polymers of 2-deoxy-N-methacryloylamido-D-glucose with ligands of various molecular sizes were synthesized. The structures and compositions of the starting polymers and conjugates were examined, and their structure in aqueous solutions was studied by viscometry.

Study of complexation between perrhenate ion and N-methyl-N-vinylacetamide and N-methyl-N-vinylamine copolymers in aqueous solutions by fast monolith high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)

Complexation between perrhenate ion and N-methyl-N-vinylacetamide and N-methyl-N-vinylamine copolymers in aqueous solutions was studied by high-performance liquid chromatography on monolith ultrashort columns. It was demonstrated that complexation has slow kinetics and strongly depends on the length of alkyl substituent.     

Copolymers of 4-Acryloylmorpholine with 2-Dimethyl- and 2-Diethylaminoethyl Methacrylate and Silver-Containing Nanocomposites Based on Them

Copolymers of 4-acryloylmorpholine with 2-dimethyl- and 2-diethylaminoethyl methacrylates of variable composition and molecular mass were prepared by free-radical copolymerization. The reactivity ratios of the comonomers were determined for the first time. The copolymers synthesized are capable to reduce Ag⁺ ions without using additional agents to form stable nanodispersions of zerovalent silver with spherical nanoparticles of 8–10 nm size.

Pyroelectric properties of an antiferroelectric liquid crystal

The effects of temperature and applied voltage on the pyroelectric properties of an antiferroelectric liquid crystal are given. It has been found that the pyroelectric signal depends strongly on the bias voltage across the sample. The pyroelectric signal behaviour is interpreted with the aid of spontaneous polarization data and good agreement is found between the results from the pyroelectric and polarization techniques. The spontaneous polarization of the sample exhibits the temperature- and field-induced `Devil's staircase' behaviour, as predicted by the Ising model.
