Radiation-chemical transformations of humic acid in aqueous solutions

The transformations of kinetically stable aqueous humic acid solutions saturated with Ar, N₂O, or air by the action of fast electrons at absorbed doses to 20 kGy were studied. In radiolytic and postradiation processes, humic acid was converted into insoluble compounds, whose precipitation accelerated with dose. The formation of insoluble compounds was enhanced in neutral and acidified solutions saturated with air and/or N₂O. As low-molecular-mass carboxylic acids that resulted from the radiolytic fragmentation of humic acid were accumulated in solution, the phase transformation weakened. The irradiated solutions were easy to purify by chemical coagulation.     

Synthesis of substituted pyrrolo[3,2-<Emphasis Type="Italic">f</Emphasis>]-quinolines from 5-aminoindoles and diethyl oxaloacetate

The reactions of a series of substituted 5-aminoindoles with diethyl oxaloacetate were studied. Synthesis of pyrrolo[2,3-<Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>]quinolines from 4-amino-2,3-dimethyl-and 4-amino-1,2,3-trimethylindoles

A study was carried out on the reactions of 4-amino-2,3-dimethyl-and 4-amino-1,2,3-trimethylindoles with acetylacetone, dibenzoylmethane, ethyl acetoacetate, ethyl trifluoroacetoacetate, and ethyl oxaloacetate. Reaction of Polyhalo Semiquinoid Structures Originating from 4-Aroyl(arylsulfonyl)oximino-2,5-cyclohexadiene-1-ones with Arylsulfinic Acids

Stable semiquinoid structures, 4-aroyl(arylsulfonyl)oximino-2,6-dimethyl-5,6-dichloro-2-cyclohexen-1-ones, do not react with dialkyl phosphites, alcohols, tosylhydrazine, p-toluidine, and hydrazoic acid. In reactions with arylsulfinic acids occurs a nucleophilic substitution of chlorine at the sp ³-hybridized C⁵ carbon in the minor Z-isomer yielding 4-aroyl(arylsulfonyl)oximino-5-arylsulfonyl-2,6-dimethyl-6-chloro-2-cyclohexen-1-ones.     

Investigation of contactless electron transmission through dielectric channels

The effect of the contactless transmission (guiding) of 10 keV electrons through cylindrical dielectric channels and planar channels formed by glass plates is studied. The capture and propagation of an electron beam along the channel axis, usual in these cases, are observed in the experiments with two plates. The deviation of the reflection angle from the specular angle and its dependence on the plate length and beamcurrent value under beam reflection from a single plate are investigated.     

Theoretical analysis of two-gap superconductivity of magnesium diborades and iron pnictides in the generalized α model

A generalized ?? model for computing the superconducting parameters of real two-band superconductors is proposed based on an analysis of the properties of two-band equations in the theory of superconductivity. Using this model, we calculate the heat capacity and optical properties of Ba(Fe_{1 ? x} Co _x )₂As₂ superconducting compound and obtain the temperature dependences of the gaps and energies of the Leggett modes in the Mg_{1 ? x} Al _x B₂ superconducting system. Good quantitative coincidence of the calculated data and experimental results is demonstrated.     

Mechanism of electrochemical oxidation of 1-chloro-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine

In contrast to 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine and other aliphatic amines, at the electrochemical oxidation of 1-chloro-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine a sufficiently stable cation-radical is formed. Its formation is confirmed by the data of cyclic voltammetry and electron paramagnetic resonance. Further transformation of the cation-radical leads to the formation of 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl.
