New effects are observed wherein the internal structure of the domain walls in a thin magnetic iron garnet film are modified
by the action of focused laser radiation. A single laser pulse with increasing power gives rise to the following: 1) displacement
of vertical Bloch lines in a domain wall; 2) generation of a pair of vertical Bloch lines on initially line-free walls; and,
3) an irreversible change in shape of a domain wall and the domain structure as a whole. The mechanism leading to the generation
and displacement of Bloch lines is connected with the motion of domain walls which is induced by a local change in the distribution
of demagnetizing fields as a result of a heating-induced decrease of the magnetization in the focal spot of the laser radiation.

Changes in thin zinc-sulfide films under the action of the γ-radiation of Co60 are studied by investigating electroluminescence spectra of terbium embedded in these films as a luminescent probe. It is
shown that changes in the relation of the intensities of bands, a decrease in their halfwidth and the background component,
and simplification of the spectrum are observed in a short-wave region of the Tb radiation spectrum that corresponds to5D3→7Fj transitions. The same modification of the radiation spectrum is characteristic of ZnS films whose crystalline structure is
ordered in the course of thermal annealing at a temperature of 350°C. Based on the analysis of the data obtained it is inferred
that irradiating the ZnS films with small radiation doses of 104–105 rad leads to the ordering of their crystalline structure due to the elimination of one of the types of structural defects.

We provide a detailed investigation of limits of N–soliton solutions of the Toda lattice as N tends to infinity. Our principal results yield new classes of Toda solutions including, in particular, new kinds of soliton–like
(i.e., reflectionless) solutions. As a byproduct we solve an inverse spectral problem for one–dimensional Jacobi operators
and explicitly construct tri–diagonal matrices that yield a purely absolutely continuous spectrum in (-1,1) and give rise
to an eigenvalue spectrum that includes any prescribed countable and bounded subset of .

We study condensation of ethanol-hexanol vapour by numerical solution of kinetic equations. The number of droplets formed
in unit volume is computed within self-consistent classical model. It is shown that formation of ethanol-rich droplets prevails
at the initial stage of nucleation process, but in the stationary state formation of droplets near the saddle point (on cluster
formation energy surface) plays the dominant role.

We show in this paper that there are closely related modified quartic oscillators with the potential depending on |x| for which analytic solutions for some states exist. Luminescence properties of anodic aluminum oxide films with organic luminophores embedded into pores

Luminescence properties of porous anodic aluminum oxide films formed in a 0.6 M solution of citric acid and luminescence of
paraterphenyl, perylene, coumarin 7, and rhodamine 6G dyes adsorbed by the films are investigated. The nature of emitting
centers in anodic aluminum oxide is revealed. Intense photoluminescence of all tested dyes embedded into pores of anodic aluminum
oxide has been found. A redshift of fluorescence spectra of dyes adsorbed by the matrix and emergence of an additional longwave
band have been detected. Data obtained can be used in developing new thin-film luminescent coatings for future applications
in optoelectronics and molecular electronics.

A method for finding the optimum sizes of pigment particles, their volume concentration, and the paint coating thickness that
provide the covering power and the required coloristic characteristics of reflected light for the minimum flow rate of pigments
is based on using a four-flow approximation of the solution to the equation of radiation transfer in dispersion media and
is extended to coatings of complex composition. The capabilities of the method are demonstrated by examples of coatings of
mixtures of hematite and rutile particles in a binder with n=1.5 for variations of the modal size and the half-width of the
size distribution of the pigment particles.

A scheme for automated study of current-voltage characteristics of gyroresonance devices is developed. The effective emission
spread at the cathodes of powerful gyrotrons is studied by analysis of current-voltage characteristics. Experimental data
on the effective emission spread parameter for different modes are given. The permissible emission spread at the cathodes
of powerful gyrotrons is estimated, and the dependence of the electron beam parameters on the cathode emission spread is presented.
A complex measurement technique showing the contribution of different physical mechanisms to the cathode emission spread is
proposed.
