Use of stabilized adsorbents for collecting extracts after supercritical fluid extraction

A method was proposed for preconcentrating small amounts of numerous organic contaminants. The method is based on supercritical fluid extraction and trapping the extracted compounds with a multilayer adsorption device followed by their thermodesorption directly to a gas chromatographic system. A method was described for preparing stabilized adsorbents on the basis of a support with a stationary phase using sol-gel synthesis.     

Synthesis and properties of residual graphite nitrate obtained by treatment of graphite nitrate with water

The possibility of obtaining residual graphite nitrate by water treatment of graphite nitrate and its subsequent drying was studied. The expansion coefficients were determined in the temperature range 500–900°C with a step of 100°C for the samples obtained.     

Synthesis,complexation, and photochemistry of benzobisthiazole-based bis(crown ether)

Benzobisthiazole-based bis(crown ether) was synthesized and its complexation with alkali and alkaline earth cations was studied. Photochemical transformations of the free ligand and its complexes with alkaline earth cations involve E,Z-photoisomerization and [2+2] photocycloaddition. Dedicated to Academician N. S. Synthetic Transformations of Higher Terpenoids: IX. Nitrogen-Containing Heterocyclic Compounds on the Basis of Lambertianic Acid

Photosensitivity of holographic recording media based on films of polymer compositions with cadmium sulfide nanoparticles

The effect of doping with CdS nanoparticles of recording medium films for the thermoplastic holographic recording process, which are based on photosemiconductors (oligomers and cooligomers of glycidylcarbazole) and a dielectric (a styrene copolymer with octyl methacrylate) containing a photoconductivity sensitizer, on their photosensitivity was studied. The enhancement of photosensitivity of films by doping with nanoparticles is associated with the appearance of an additional channel for transport of electrons generated from sensitizer molecules. A difference in informational properties between the oligomer and the polymer films was revealed.     

Purification and characterization of lamb pregastric lipase

Lamb pregastric lipase was purified from a commercial source using delipidation, solubilization with KSCN, acid-precipitation, pepsin-digestion, affinity chromatography with agarose-Cibacron Blue F3GA, gel filtration, and elution from a native 10% (w/v) polyacrylamide gel. The enzyme had a single subunit of 68,000 Da with maximum esterase activity when measured at pH 6.0 and 30 degrees C. The enzyme preferentially hydrolyzed short- and medium-chain (C4, C6, and C8) synthetic esters and short-chain (C4 and C6) monoacid triglycerides. The NH2-terminal sequence demonstrated high homology with gastric and lingual lipases.

The potential of a package of quantum-chemical software programs for exploring physicochemical problems pertaining to polyatomic organic molecules is highlighted. The results of investigation into the spectral, luminescent, and photochemical properties of molecules are discussed. The necessity of development of target-oriented models for studying the problems of physics and chemistry of molecules is emphasized.
