An ultrasonic method for measuring stresses in engineering materials   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
A ‘multiparameter’ method for indirect evaluation of intrinsic anisotropy values for prestressed engineering materials is discussed. The proposed method is based on simultaneous measurement of both the velocity of elastic waves and the parameters, characterizing the frequency dispersion and/or attenuation. Preliminary experimental demonstrations of the feasibility of such methods for common engineering materials are presented.  相似文献

The feasibility of static deuterium rotating frame NMR relaxation measurements for characterization of slow timescale motions in powder systems is demonstrated. Using a model compound dimethyl sulfone-d6, we show that these measurements yield conformational exchange rates and activation energy values in accordance with results obtained with other techniques. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the full Liouvillian approach as opposed to the Redfield approximation is necessary to analyze the experimental data.  相似文献

In this article we report for the first time experimental details concerning the synthesis and full characterization (including the single-crystal X-ray structure) of the spin-canted zigzag-chain compound [Co(H2L)(H2O)]infinity [L = 4-Me-C6H4-CH2N(CPO3H2)2], which contains antiferromagnetically coupled, highly magnetically anisotropic Co(II) ions with unquenched orbital angular momenta, and we also propose a new model to explain the single-chain magnet behavior of this compound. The model takes into account (1) the tetragonal crystal field and the spin-orbit interaction acting on each Co(II) ion, (2) the antiferromagnetic Heisenberg exchange between neighboring Co(II) ions, and (3) the tilting of the tetragonal axes of the neighboring Co units in the zigzag structure. We show that the tilting of the anisotropy axes gives rise to spin canting and consequently to a nonvanishing magnetization for the compound. In the case of a strong tetragonal field that stabilizes the orbital doublet of Co(II), the effective pseudo-spin-1/2 Hamiltonian describing the interaction between the Co ions in their ground Kramers doublet states is shown to be of the Ising type. An analytical expression for the static magnetic susceptibility of the infinite spin-canted chain is obtained. The model provides an excellent fit to the experimental data on both the static and dynamic magnetic properties of the chain.  相似文献

The paper describes nonlinear effects due to a biharmonic acoustic signal scattering from air bubbles in the sea. The results of field experiments in a shallow sea are presented. Two waves radiated at frequencies 30 and 31-37 kHz generated backscattered signals at sum and difference frequencies in a bubble layer. A motorboat propeller was used to generate bubbles with different concentrations at different times, up to the return to the natural subsurface layer. Theoretical consideration is given for these effects. The experimental data are in a reasonably good agreement with theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The technique of intermittency expansions is applied to derive an exact formal power series representation for the Mellin transform of the probability distribution of the limit lognormal multifractal process. The negative integral moments are computed by a novel product formula of Selberg type. The power series is summed in general by means of its small intermittency asymptotic. The resulting integral formula for the Mellin transform is conjectured to be valid at all levels of intermittency. The conjecture is verified partially by proving that the integral formula reproduces known results for the positive and negative integral moments of the limit lognormal distribution and gives a valid characteristic function of the Lévy-Khinchine type for the logarithm of the distribution. The moment problem for the logarithm of the distribution is shown to be determinate, whereas the moment problems for the distribution and its reciprocal are shown to be indeterminate. The conjecture is used to represent the Mellin transform as an infinite product of gamma factors generalizing Selberg’s finite product. The conjectured probability density functions of the limit lognormal distribution and its logarithm are computed numerically by the inverse Fourier transform.  相似文献

This paper presents the experimental and theoretical results of applying resonant acoustic spectroscopy (RAS) to determine elastic parameters and losses in such consolidated granular materials as rock and building bricks. First, the theoretical aspects of the RAS method are outlined. A computer code for the rectangular and cylindrical samples was developed and tested. The results of experiments on specimens of rock and ceramic brick are then described. Finally, a modification of the previously published RUS algorithm is presented which permits a significant reduction in computing time for elongated samples.  相似文献

A new approach to the construction of a system of the generalized radiometric quantities expressed in terms of the cross-spectral density function of the wave field is proposed. The key distinction of this approach lies in the fact that the initial hypothesis of beamlike wave propagation allows to invoke the paraxial approximation when deducing the generalized radiant flux. Within the framework of this approach the new expressions for the generalized radiant emittance, the generalized radiant intensity and the generalized radiance are derived. All the proposed generalized radiometric characteristics represent physically measurable quantities and, hence, may be used in practical radiometry. The results obtained in this paper can be regarded as a particular case of the modern radiometry theory in paraxial approximation for beamlike wave propagation.On leave from Kiev Polytechnic Institute, Ukraine.  相似文献

A new method for calculating image intensity distribution in partially coherent illumination is described. The method is based on the coherent-mode representation of the cross-spectral density function of illumination field and allows considerable reduction of the computational effort needed for image intensity calculation in comparison with the direct method. The computational efficiency of the method is larger the more coherent is the illumination in a global sense. An example of calculating image intensity for Schell-model illumination is compared with theoretical results.  相似文献

It is shown that the problem of classification of images that have the perfectly random nature may be solved with the help of synthetic discriminant functions being synthesized by least-squares technique to separate linearly the power spectra of the corresponding random image fields. The realization of the proposed method by means of an optical technique is discussed, and its efficiency is illustrated by two examples of real-life texture classification.  相似文献
