Surface modification and characterization of phenanthroline nanofilms on carbon substrate

Modification of glassy carbon (GC) surfaces with phenanthroline derivatives (PDs) such as 5‐amino‐1,10‐phenanthroline (5AP) and 5,6‐diamino‐1,10‐phenanthroline (56DAP) is described in this study. Surface modification experiments were performed by cyclic voltammetry (CV) scanning from + 1.2 to + 2.7 V at scan rate of 100 mV/s applying 30 potential scans in acetonitrile (CH₃CN) containing 1 mM PDs and 100 mM tetrabutylammoniumtetrafluoroborate (TBATFB). The presence of PDs on GC electrode was confirmed using CV, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), contact angle measurements and ellipsometry and comparing with the results of bare GC electrode. A mechanism was proposed for the electrochemical modification of the GC electrode surface with PDs. The structure of the 5AP and 56DAP films was also discussed in the light of electrochemical and spectroscopic data. The complex‐forming ability of the modified surfaces against metal cations was investigated by square‐wave voltammetry (SWV). It was shown that surfaces having 1,10‐phenanthroline ligands with different functional groups were quite useful for the determination of transition metal ions. Phytochemical investigation and biological studies of Bombax malabaricum flowers

In this study, extracts of the flowers of the folk medicinal plant Bombax malabaricum DC were biologically and chemically screened. Chemical constituents in the n-hexane fraction from the flowers of B. malabaricum DC were investigated using gas-liquid chromatography (GLC) analysis, affording 14 compounds, including cholesterol, stigmasterol, campesterol and α-amyrin, while the residual 10 compounds are hydrocarbons. GLC analysis of the fatty acid (FA) esters established the majority abundance of the saturated FA over their unsaturated analogues. The polar methanol fraction afforded seven flavones: vicenin 2 (1), linarin (2), saponarin (3), cosmetin (4), isovitexin (5), xanthomicrol (6) and apigenin (7). Structures 1-7 were established by intensive studies of various spectral data (H-NMR, mass spectroscopy and UV) and comparison with authentic samples. Compounds 1-7 are described here for the first time from this plant. Extracts of n-hexane and methanol exhibited significant antioxidant and antimicrobial activities.     

Identities for the Widder transform and transforms with Bessel function kernels

In the present paper, we consider the classical Widder transform, the H_ν-transform, the K_ν-transform, and the Y_ν-transform. Some identities involving these transforms and many others are given. By making use of these identities, a number of new Parseval-Goldstein type identities are obtained for these and other well-known integral transforms.     

A rational approximation based on Bernstein polynomials for high order initial and boundary values problems

We introduce a new method to solve high order linear differential equations with initial and boundary conditions numerically. In this method, the approximate solution is based on rational interpolation and collocation method. Since controlling the occurrence of poles in rational interpolation is difficult, a construction which is found by Floater and Hormann [1] is used with no poles in real numbers. We use the Bernstein series solution instead of the interpolation polynomials in their construction. We find that our approximate solution has better convergence rate than the one found by using collocation method. The error of the approximate solution is given in the case of the exact solution f ∈ C^d+2[a, b].     

Speciation studies on the complex formation reactions of [Pd(N,N-diethyl-ethylendiamine)(H2O)2]2+ with some bio-relevant ligands and displacement reaction by mercaptoethylamine

Pd(deen)Cl2 and Pd(deen)(CBDCA) complexes, where deen=N,N-diethylethylenediamine and CBDCA=1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylate, were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic techniques. The stoichiometry and stability of the complexes formed between various biologically relevant ligands (amino acids, peptides, DNA constituents and dicarboxylic acids) and [Pd(deen)(H2O)2]2+ were investigated at 25 °C and 0.1 M ionic strength. The speciation diagrams of the complexes formed in solutions are evaluated. The mode of coordination of glycylglycine is investigated by spectrophotometric measurements. The equilibrium constants for the displacement of coordinated ligands as inosine, glycine or methionine by mercaptoethylamine are calculated. The results are expected to contribute to the chemistry of antitumour agents.     

Analyse du profil d'un massif de bandes de vibration rotation

Dans le cas de molécules polyatomiques une bande donnée est souvent accompagnée de satellites, bandes chaudes, bandes isotopiques, combinaisons. Celles-ci ne sont pas toujours séparables et les moments spectraux mesurés sont alors ent?achés d'erreurs. Nous donnons ici des formules permettant, `a partir des moments mesurés pour le massif de bandes (ces derni`eres sont supposées de profils identiques) d'obtenir les moments vrais pour chacune des bandes composantes. Les formules sont données pour un nombre quelconque de bandes puis explicitées pour une et deux bandes chaudes. L'expression des termes correctifs obtenus ne dépendant pas de l'origine choisie, on montre alors qu'il est facile de tenir compte simultanément de la correction de bandes chaudes et d'une autre interaction comme celle de vibration rotation par exemple. Enfin, `a titre d'exemple, la méthode est appliquée au cas de la bande v <sub>3</sub> de la molécule OCS comprimée par l'argon. Les corrections obtenues sont loin d'?etre négligeables et peuvent m?eme changer l'ordre de grandeur du couple carré moyen calculé `a partir des moments.     

高频溅射生长ZnS:Tb,F薄膜的结构与发光

本文采用X射线衍射和阴极射线发光技术对溅射法生长的ZnS:Tb,F薄膜的发光光谱和薄膜的微观结构进行了研究,得出了激晶薄膜的晶粒尺寸与发光强度的关系.讨论了稀土离子的价态对掺杂稀土微晶薄膜的发光性质与晶粒尺寸的关系的影响.
