The electron capture decay occurs with a record low energy release, Q ~ 2.6 keV. The daughter DyH atom has an electron hole, H, and predominantly decays by electron ejection DyH→DyH1H2+e?. We investigate the neutrino mass sensitivity of the electron spectrum in the overall process Ho→DyH1H2+e?+νe. In this spectrum, the fraction of events sensitive to a fixed non-zero neutrino mass in one to two orders of magnitude smaller than in the standard case of tritium β decay. But the electron energies in 163Ho decay are considerably smaller than in 3H decay (Q ~ 18 keV). This suggests experiments whose energy resolution could be much better than that of the magnetic spectrometers conventionally used in the tritium case. 相似文献

We compare the inclusive characteristics of \(\bar pp\) interactions at 22.4 GeV/c with quark-parton model predictions in terms of collective variables. The model qualitatively agrees with the data in contradiction to the simple cylindrical phase space and randomized charge model. A general theory is presented for studying the influence of reflections on mode competition in gyrotrons. Strong effect is found in the illustrative example: the coaxial cavity TE28,16 gyrotron operating close to the optimal point in the general parameter spare. In some cases, the fixed-field approximation and the self-consistent approach lead to qualitatively different predictions, which emphasizes the need for self-consistent calculations in the final stage of design of a gyrotron 相似文献

The concept of the pion-nucleus coupling constants is discussed. Methods of their determination are reviewed. These include: forward dispersion relations, extrapolation of differential cross sections to the poles in the angular variable, analysis of data on electromagnetic form factors with the use of the PCAC and CVC hypotheses, pion photoproduction at threshold and low-ernergy theorems. Expected efficiencies for the possible operation of the KfK gyrotron at the first, second and third harmonics are estimated. The results obtained in the cold cavity approximation and in self-consistent calculations are compared. Mode competition between the modes operating at the fundamental and at the second harmonic is investigated. Regions of stable single-mode generation are established. New results on the inclusive and semi-inclusive production of π+ mesons and protons in the whole phase space are given for about 2.2 · 104 inelastic interactions at 22.4 GeV/c. A method of statistical separation for spectra of particles of the same charge which are produced in CP-symmetrical reactions is discussed in detail. Experimental values of the differential cross section for the reactionn+d→π 0+t at large angles (θ?50°) in the neutron energy range 460–560 MeV and the known values of the coupling constants \(G_{nn\pi ^O }^2 \) andG tdn 2 are used to predictdσ/dΩ at smaller angles.
