Breakthrough curves for the adsorption of propane, n-butane, and iso-butane mixture on 5A molecular sieve zeolite were obtained experimentally and theoretically at a constant temperature of 301 K. The equilibrium model and linear driving force model were used to predict the experimental breakthrough curves for this multicomponent mixture. The equilibrium model gave a satisfactory fit for experimental data. The model equations were solved by a numerical method based on backward finite difference with a fixed griding technique. The effects of feed flow rate (0.552–3.496 l/min), feed concentration (60.72–141.68 mmol/l), and adsorbates composition (58.75–75.32%) on these breakthrough curves were examined. 相似文献

Contact of a circular ring with a flat, rigid ground is considered using curved beam theory and analytical methods. Applications include tires, springs, and stiffeners, among others. The governing differential equations are derived using the principle of virtual work and the formulation includes deformations due to bending, transverse shear and circumferential extension. The three associated stiffness quantities, EI, GA and EA, respectively, remain as independent parameters in the differential equations. This allows the special cases such as an inextensible Timoshenko beam (EI and GA) or an extensible Euler beam (EI and EA) to be obtained directly by the appropriate limits. The effect of these three stiffness parameters on the contact pressure solution is studied, which shows how those fundamental parameters can be selected for the purpose of the application. Although the formulation is for small displacement theory, both radial and circumferential distributed loads are considered, which allows the pressure in the deformed state to be vertical rather than radial, which is shown to be important. Closed form expressions for all force and displacement quantities are obtained in terms of the angular location of the edge of contact, which must be determined numerically. Extensibility complicates the analytical expressions within the contact region, and a series solution is proposed in this case. A two-term asymptotic expression for the stiffness of the ring is determined analytically. Finally, all solutions are validated using the commercial finite element software ABAQUS, with attention to non-linear behavior and the range of validity of these solutions. 相似文献

The key issue for decision making in stock trading is selection of the right stock at the right time. In order to select the superior stocks (alternatives) for investment, a finite number of alternatives have to be ranked considering several and sometimes conflicting criteria. Therefore, we are faced with a special multicriteria decision-making problem. The purpose of this paper is to develop a decision-making model for selecting superior stocks in stock exchange and a model is provided in order to structure this problem. The proposed model is structured around two pillars: Industry evaluation and Company evaluation. The preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluation (PROMETHEE) has been used for solving the problem. The model has been applied at Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) as a real case and a survey from the experts in order to determine the effective criteria for industry evaluation and company evaluation has been conducted. 相似文献

The mechanical properties and thermal stability of polymers can be enhanced through the formation of nanocomposites. Nanocomposites consisting of hybrid copolymers of methacrylcyclohexyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS‐1) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) with up to 92 wt % (51 mol %) POSS‐1 and with superior thermal properties were synthesized using solution polymerization. The POSS‐1 contents of the copolymers were similar to or slightly higher than those in the feeds, the polydispersity indices were relatively low, and the degree of polymerization decreased with increasing POSS‐1 content. POSS‐1 enhanced the thermal stability, increasing the degradation temperature, reducing the mass loss, and preventing PMMA‐like degradation from propagating along the chain. The mass loss was reduced in a high POSS‐1 content copolymer since the polymerization of POSS‐1 with itself reduced sublimation. Exposure to 450 °C produced cyclohexyl‐POSS‐like remnants in the POSS‐1 monomer and in all the copolymers. The degradation of these remnants, for the copolymers and for the POSS‐1 monomer, yielded 75% SiO2 and an oxidized carbonaceous residue. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Combination therapy is considered a viable strategy to overcome the resistance to chemotherapeutics. Survivin as a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family, which is involved in resistance to various drugs. We investigated the role of combination therapy in downregulating survivin and increasing drug’s efficacy in MDA-MB-231 cells. MTT assay and DAPI staining were applied to study the anti-proliferative activity and apoptosis response of the agents. Real-time RT-PCR and Western blot analysis were applied to study survivin mRNA and protein. Our findings showed that combined treatment of cells with docetaxel and vinblastine reduces survivin expression and consequently decreases the IC50 value of docetaxel from 70 to 5 nM (p?0.05). Furthermore, combination therapy with deguelin, a survivin inhibitor, exerted a considerable enhancement in synergistic efficacy of docetaxel and vinblastine (p?0.05). Survivin downregulation may thus be considered a potential strategy in increasing the efficacy of chemotherapeutics in cancer patients. 相似文献
