To compare the effect of nitrate anions on the surface tension increments of aqueous solutions with that of halide anions, the surface tension of aqueous solutions of lithium nitrate, sodium nitrate, and potassium nitrate was measured as a function of temperature and concentration. It is shown that the surface tension of aqueous alkali metal nitrate solutions is determined primarily by the kinds of anions, since the surface tension increments of these nitrates were of the same magnitude. The importance of the electrical double layer at the surface is discussed in relation to these surface tension increments. 相似文献

A novel method for the trace analysis of 17beta-estradiol (E2) in river water sample was developed, which involved stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE) with in situ acylation (first derivatization) and thermal desorption (TD) with quartz wool assisted (QWA) in tube silylation (second derivatization), followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and is called the "dual derivatization method." The optimum conditions for SBSE with in situ acylation, such as the volume of acetic acid anhydride and the extraction time, were investigated. In addition, the optimum conditions for TD with QWA in tube silylation, such as the volume of N,O-bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (BSTFA) and the TD temperature and hold time, were investigated as well. The detection limit (S/N = 3) and the quantitation limit (S/N>10) of E2 in the river water sample were 0.5 and 2 pg ml(-1) (ppt), respectively, by the dual derivatization method. In addition, the detection limit was 0.1 pg ml(-1) by using dual derivatization method with multi-shot mode. The calibration curve for E2 was linear in the range of 0.002-10 ng ml(-1) with correlation coefficients >0.999. The average recoveries of E2 (n = 6) at the concentrations of 0.05 and 1.0 ng ml(-1) from the river water sample were 93.1 (RSD: 1.4%) and 98.4% (RSD: 0.8%), respectively, with correction using the added surrogate standard, 17beta-estradiol-(13)C(4). This simple, accurate, sensitive and selective analytical method may be applicable to the determination of trace amounts of E2 in water samples. 相似文献

Summary : Phosphorus compounds were employed as catalysts in Reversible Chain Transfer Catalyzed Polymerization (RTCP), a novel class of living radical polymerization (LRP) which we had recently developed. Low-polydispersity polystyrene and poly(methyl methacrylate) with predicted molecular weights were obtained with a fairly high conversion in a fairly short time. These catalysts are particularly featured by their high reactivity hence small amounts being required, low toxicity, and low cost. The effect of high repetition rate pulsed laser annealing with a KrF excimer laser on the optical properties of phosphorus-ion-implanted zinc oxide nanorods has been investigated. The recovery levels of phosphorus-ion-implanted zinc oxide nanorods have been measured by photoluminescence spectra and cathode luminescence images. Cathode luminescence disappeared over 300 nm below the surface due to the damage caused by ion implantation with an acceleration voltage of 25 kV. When the annealing was performed at a low repetition rate of the KrF excimer laser, cathode luminescence was recovered only in a shallow area below the surface. The depth of the annealed area was increased along with the repetition rate of the annealing laser. By optimizing the annealing conditions such as the repetition rate, the irradiation fluence and so on, we have succeeded in annealing the whole damaged area of over 300 nm in depth and in observing cathode luminescence. Thus, the effectiveness of high repetition rate pulsed laser annealing on phosphorus-ion-implanted zinc oxide nanorods was demonstrated. 相似文献

The colloidal mesoporous silica nanoparticles with small particle sizes (namely, CMS) are used as inorganic fillers of polymers (i.e. epoxy and silicone). From simple calculation, almost all polymers are estimated to be confined in the mesopores. To clarify the superiority of CMS over nonporous silica particles and mesoporous silica particles with much larger size (TMPS-4) as inorganic fillers, a systematic study on mechanical strength and transparency of polymer-silica nanocomposites was conducted. Compared with nonporous silica particles, similar to TMPS-4, CMS shows a greater effect on lowering the CTE. The sensing characteristics of an amperometric NOx sensor with yttria-stabilized zirconia and a La-based perovskite-type oxide
sensing electrode were examined. La1-xSrxMO3 (M = Co, Mn, x = 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6) were synthesized using the spray pyrolysis method. The NO2 response of a sensor fabricated with La1-xSrxMnO3 increased with increasing amount of Sr, and the trend was in contrast to that of the sensors fabricated with La1-xSrxCoO3. LaSr0.2MnO3 was determined to be the most appropriate material for the sensor in terms of a high NO2 response and low O2 current. Although many organic/inorganic compounds that release nitric oxide (NO) upon photoirradiation (phototriggered caged-NOs) have been reported, their photoabsorption wavelengths mostly lie in the UV region, because X-NO bonds (X=heteroatom and metal) generally have rather strong π-bond character. Thus, it is intrinsically difficult to generate organic compounds that release NO under visible light irradiation. Herein, the structures and properties of N-pyramidal nitrosamine derivatives of 7-azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptanes that release NO under visible light irradiation are described. Bathochromic shifts of the absorptions of these nitrosamines, attributed to HOMO (n)-LUMO (π*) transitions associated with the nonplanar structure of the N-NO moiety, enable the molecules to absorb visible light, which results in N-NO bond cleavage.
