Monoamine oxidase (MAO) A is a flavoenzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of biologically important monoamines and is thought to be associated with psychiatric disorders. Here, we report a strategy for rationally designing a (19)F magnetic resonance imaging probe for the specific detection of human MAO-A (hMAO-A) activity. Our designed (19)F probe was oxidized expeditiously by hMAO-A to produce 2-fluoro-4-nitrophenol via a spontaneous β-elimination mechanism. Concomitant with the structural change of the probe to the product, the (19)F chemical shift changed by 4.2 ppm, which was enough to visualize the probe and enzymatic product separately. We propose a modified mechanism for the inhibition of [NiFe]hydrogenase ([NiFe]H(2)ase) by CO. We present a model study, using a NiRu H(2)ase mimic, that demonstrates that (i) CO completely inhibits the catalytic cycle of the model compound, (ii) CO prefers to coordinate to the Ru(II) center rather than taking an axial position on the Ni(II) center, and (iii) CO is unable to displace a hydrido ligand from the NiRu center. We combine these studies with a reevaluation of previous studies to propose that, under normal circumstances, CO inhibits [NiFe]H(2)ase by complexing to the Fe(II) center. 相似文献

Effects of epitaxial stress on the metal-insulator transition of V2O3 have been studied for in the form of epitaxial thin films grown on α-Al2O3 (0001) and LiTaO3 (0001) substrates. A metallic phase is stabilized down to 2 K in the V2O3 thin film on α-Al2O3 (0001), where the a-axis is compressed by 4% owing to large epitaxial stress. On the other hand, the transition temperature TMI is raised by 20 K from the value of 170 K in bulk samples in the film on LiTaO3 (0001), where the a-axis is expanded. These results suggest an intimate relationship between the a-axis length and TMI in V2O3. The conductivity of the metallic ultrathin films shows logarithmic temperature dependence below 20 K, probably due to the Anderson localization in two-dimensional systems. 相似文献

Frost heave occurs in various phenomena in natural environment. It has been studied in helium on porous glasses under perfect ice-segregation condition. The maximum frost heave pressure was investigated for various conditions and was in good agreement with the thermodynamical prediction. Film preparation of oxide superconductors, mainly of the 1-2-3 (RBa2Cu3Ox) and Bi-containing (Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O) systems, by evaporation of either metals or metal compounds by low pressure is summarized, with a particular focus on the development of oxidation sources essential to the technique. Oxidizing reagents that enable the oxidation of metal evaporates to take place in high (0·1 to 10?3 Pa) or even ultra-high (<10?5 Pa) vacuum are summarized using the experiments of those who tried to apply the molecular beam epitaxy method to atomically controlled fabrication of thin films of the material, especially for device processing. The evaporation in various kinds of oxidizing atmosphere, including the simple method of in situ annealing of the metal layers in oxygen to the more advanced in situ preparation of the films with strong oxidizing reagents such as atomic oxygen, ozone, nitric oxide, etc. along with the thermochemistry of the oxidation of metals by low pressure with these reagents is reviewed. 相似文献

A novel method is proposed for non-contact measurement of the distribution of electrostatic charge on a surface based on scanning the sample surface with a focused high frequency acoustic beam to excite movement of the sample surface. An electric field is induced by exciting a charged film-like object, and an electric field sensor measures it instead of an electrostatic field. The skeletons of some classes of terpenoids are unusual in that they contain a larger number of Me groups (or their biosynthetic equivalents such as olefinic methylene groups, hydroxymethyl groups, aldehydes, or carboxylic acids and their derivatives) than provided by their oligoprenyl diphosphate precursor. This is sometimes the result of an oxidative ring‐opening reaction at a terpene‐cyclase‐derived molecule containing the regular number of Me group equivalents, as observed for picrotoxan sesquiterpenes. In this study a sesquiterpene cyclase from Trichoderma spp. is described that can convert farnesyl diphosphate (FPP) directly via a remarkable skeletal rearrangement into trichobrasilenol, a new brasilane sesquiterpene with one additional Me group equivalent compared to FPP. A mechanistic hypothesis for the formation of the brasilane skeleton is supported by extensive isotopic labelling studies. 相似文献

The temperature‐dependent Raman studies of A2Ti2O7(A = Dy, Er, Gd) were performed on single crystals and polycrystalline samples in the 4.2–295 K temperature range. The Raman spectra showed softening of the majority of phonon modes upon cooling in the whole temperature range studied and large decrease of linewidths. These changes have been analyzed in terms of strong third‐order phonon–phonon anharmonic interactions. Moreover, the 312 and 330 cm−1 modes of Er2Ti2O7(Gd2Ti2O7) showed hardening upon cooling down to about 130 K (100 K) and then anomalous softening below this temperature. The observed anomalous behavior of the Raman modes indicates that some important changes occur in these materials at low temperatures. However, the origin of this behavior is still not clear.
