We have developed a new type of all-fiber band-rejection filter consisting of a helicoidal long-period fiber grating pair of opposite helicities, which provides highly flexible spectral control over the rejection bandwidth. The detailed fabrication method and operation principles of the proposed bandwidth-tunable band-rejection filter are described. The proposed device enables unique rejection bandwidth tuning over more than 14 nm at the rejection level of 15 dB, with low insertion loss and polarization-dependent loss achieved by adjusting torsion stress.  相似文献

Random field Ising model and community structure in complex networks   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We propose a method to determine the community structure of a complex network. In this method the ground state problem of a ferromagnetic random field Ising model is considered on the network with the magnetic field Bs = +∞, Bt = -∞, and Bi≠s,t=0 for a node pair s and t. The ground state problem is equivalent to the so-called maximum flow problem, which can be solved exactly numerically with the help of a combinatorial optimization algorithm. The community structure is then identified from the ground state Ising spin domains for all pairs of s and t. Our method provides a criterion for the existence of the community structure, and is applicable equally well to unweighted and weighted networks. We demonstrate the performance of the method by applying it to the Barabási-Albert network, Zachary karate club network, the scientific collaboration network, and the stock price correlation network. Terbium activated yttrium niobium tantalate phosphors were prepared by solid-state reaction and were characterized by photoluminescence measurements, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Photoluminescence (PL) of Y0.95Tb0.05Ta1?xNbxO4 phosphors (x = 0–1) are influenced by the host-lattice composition, degree of crystalline order and particle morphology and size. The effect of the morpho-structural properties on PL characteristics of Y(Ta,Nb)O4:Tb powders is reported.  相似文献

Near-field intensity statistics in semicontinuous silver films over a wide range of surface coverage are investigated using near-field scanning optical microscopy. The variance of intensity fluctuations and the high-order moments of intensity enhancement exhibit local minima at the percolation threshold. This reduction in local field fluctuations results from resonant excitation of delocalized surface plasmon modes. By probing the modification of the critical indices for high-order moments of intensity enhancement caused by the delocalized states, we provide the first experimental evidence for the coexistence of localized and delocalized surface plasmon modes in percolating metal films.  相似文献

We derive the rigorous analytic solutions for the susceptibility of Doppler-broadened two-level atoms, valid for arbitrary laser intensities. As is usually the case with real atoms, we observe that, when the homogeneous linewidth is much narrower than the Doppler width, the real part of the susceptibility is given by the product of an imaginary error function and a Gaussian, whereas the imaginary part consists simply of a Gaussian function. By employing the analytic results, in particular, we study the effects of optical pumping and saturation on the atomic susceptibility. We also find that the real (imaginary) part of the susceptibility is weakly (strongly) dependent on such parameters as the laser intensity or the optical pumping rate. The availability of analytic solutions for the simple laser-atom interaction may provide convenient tools for its understanding as well as application to more general and realistic situations.  相似文献

We investigated the electronic response of the quasi-two-dimensional spin gap compound La4Ru2O10 using optical spectroscopy. We observed the drastic changes in the optical spectra as the temperature decreased, resulting in anisotropy in the electronic structure of the spin-singlet ground state. Using the orbital-dependent hopping analysis, we found that orbital ordering plays a crucial role in forming the spin gap state in the non-one-dimensional material.  相似文献

We have studied quasi-two-dimensional multiferroic LuFe2O4 with strong charge-spin-lattice coupling, in which low-temperature coercivity approaches an extraordinary value of 9 T in single crystals. The enhancement of the coercivity is connected to the collective freezing of nanoscale pancakelike ferrimagnetic domains with large uniaxial magnetic anisotropy ("Ising pancakes"). Our results suggest that collective freezing in low-dimensional magnets with large uniaxial anisotropy provides an effective mechanism to achieve enhanced coercivity. This observation may help identify novel approaches for synthesis of magnets with enhanced properties.  相似文献

The constraints on the parameters by different energy conditions are studied. The classical stability of this solution is discussed.
