Phenyl tributylstannyl selenide as a promising reagent for introduction [corrected] of the phenylseleno group

A new synthetic method of organoselenium compounds has been developed. When phenyl tributylstannyl selenide (PhSeSnBu(3)) was allowed to react with acyl or aroyl chlorides in the presence of a catalytic amount of a palladium complex such as Pd(PPh(3))(4), Se-phenyl selenol esters were obtained in moderate to good yields. Similarly, the palladium complex catalyzed the reaction of PhSeSnBu(3) with alpha-halo carbonyl compounds to afford the corresponding alpha-phenyseleno carbonyl compounds in moderate yields.     

Lidar Network System for Monitoring the Atmospheric Environment in Jakarta City

A lidar network system consisting of two Mie scattering lidars and one differential absorption lidar was developed to measure the atmospheric environment in Jakarta. The three lidars were installed at three locations in Jakarta to study atmospheric boundary layer structure and transportation of atmospheric pollutants. The Mie scattering lidars employ compact flashlamp pumped Nd:YAG lasers operated at 1064 nm fundamental. They are installed in shelters and directed vertically. One of the Mie lidar has a rotating wedged window for scanning conically to measure wind velocity using a correlation method. The DIAL system employs two Nd:YAG laser-pumped optical parametric oscillators. The DIAL is designed to measure distribution of ozone and SO₂ in the near UV region, and NO₂ in the 450-nm region. The system is installed in a shelter and has a full scanning capability.     

Topological particle field theory,general coordinate invariance and generalized Chern-Simons actions

We show that recently proposed generalized Chern-Simons action can be identified with the field theory action of a topological point particle. We find the crucial correspondence which makes it possible to derive the field theory actions from a special version of the generalized Chern-Simons actions. We provide arguments that the general coordinate invariance in the target space and the flat connection condition as a topological field theory can be accommodated in a very natural way. We propose series of new gauge invariant observables.     

Formation of Urazole Ring from Monoalkylhydrazine and Carbon Monoxide by Selenium

The reaction of monomethylhydrazine with carbon monoxide in the presence of selenium gave a monoselenocarbazic acid salt of methylhydrazine (I), and the reaction of methylhydrazine with a mixture gas of carbon monoxide and oxygen in the presence of I at room temperature gave 4-methylamino-l-methylurazole (III). The structure of III was determined by ¹H NMR and FT ¹³C NMR.     

A validated HPLC‐fluorescence method with a semi‐micro column for routine determination of homocysteine,cysteine and cysteamine,and the relation between the thiol derivatives in normal human plasma

A semi‐micro column HPLC‐fluorescence method for routine determination of thiol derivatives such as homocysteine (Hcy), cysteine (Cys) and cysteamine (CA) is described. The thiol derivatives labeled with ammonium‐7‐fluorobenzo‐2‐oxa‐1,3‐diazole‐4‐sulfonate (SBD‐F) were isocratically separated within 12 min on a semi‐micro ODS column (Daisopak‐SP‐120‐5‐ODS‐BP) with a mixture of 25 mm acetate buffer (pH 2.00) and CH₃CN as a mobile phase. The purity and similarity of SBD‐thiols by a multi‐wavelength fluorescence detector were more than 92.3 and 96.7%. The detection limits of Hcy, Cys and CA at a signal‐to‐noise ratio of 3 were 0.16, 0.47 and 0.03 µm , respectively. Furthermore validation parameters such as accuracy, precision and robustness of the proposed method showed satisfactory results. Almost 850 plasma sample injections (range 572–1076, n = 3) for a column could be performed without differences in retention time and peak heights of labels. As an application of the proposed method, the determination of thiol derivatives in normal human plasma (n = 103) was demonstrated. The correlation coefficients between Hcy vs Cys and Hcy vs CA were 0.38 and −0.35, respectively. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

The reactions of some diorganonickel(II) complexes with N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) resulted in facile bromine for hydrogen substitution in aromatic, alkynyl or alkenyl substituents, or in the addition of NBS to CC bonds.
