The steady mixed convection boundary-layer flow on a vertical circular cylinder embedded in a porous medium filled by a nanofluid is studied for both cases of a heated and a cooled cylinder. The governing system of partial differential equations is reduced to ordinary differential equations by assuming that the surface temperature of the cylinder and the velocity of the external (inviscid) flow vary linearly with the axial distance x measured from the leading edge. Solutions of the resulting ordinary differential equations for the flow and heat transfer characteristics are evaluated numerically for various values of the governing parameters, namely the nanoparticle volume fraction ${\phi}$ , the mixed convection or buoyancy parameter ?? and the curvature parameter ??. Results are presented for the specific case of copper nanoparticles. A critical value ?? c of ?? with ?? c <?0 is found, with the values of | ?? c| increasing as the curvature parameter ?? or nanoparticle volume fraction ${\phi}$ is increased. Dual solutions are seen for all values of ?? >??? c for both aiding, ?? >?0 and opposing, ?? <?0, flows. The mixed convection boundary-layer flow on one face of a semi-infinite vertical surface embedded in a fluid-saturated porous medium is considered when the other face is taken to be in contact with a hot or cooled fluid maintaining that surface at a constant temperature $T_\mathrm{{f}}$ . The governing system of partial differential equations is transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations through an appropriate similarity transformation. These equations are solved numerically in terms of a dimensionless mixed convection parameter $\epsilon $ and a surface heat transfer parameter $\gamma $ . The results indicate that dual solutions exist for opposing flow, $\epsilon <0$ , with the dependence of the critical values $\epsilon _\mathrm{{c}}$ on $\gamma $ being determined, whereas for the assisting flow $\epsilon >0$ , the solution is unique. The mixed convection boundary-layer flow on a vertical surface heated convectively is considered when a constant surface heat transfer parameter is assumed. The problem is seen to be chararterized by a mixed convection parameter $\gamma $ γ . The flow and heat transfer near the leading edge correspond to forced convection solution and numerical solutions are obtained to determine how the solution then develops. The solution at large distances is obtained and this identifies a critical value $\gamma _c$ γ c of the parameter $\gamma $ γ . For $\gamma > \gamma _c$ γ > γ c a solution at large distances is possible and this is approached in the numerical integrations. A numerical solution is obtained for the steady oblique stagnation-point flow of a micropolar fluid over a stretching or shrinking surface with velocity slip condition. Results are obtained for representative values of slip parameter, micropolar parameter and stretching/shrinking parameter for strong particle interaction micropolar fluid. Dual solutions are found for the case of shrinking surface. An analysis of stability of these dual solutions shows that the solution branch that proceeds to large stretching case is stable. The streamlines are not symmetric for the oblique stagnation-point flow and reversed flow are observed near to the shrinking surface. The streamlines plots show that increase of slip parameter will reduce/eliminate the existing of rotating flow near the surface that caused by the shrinking effect. 相似文献

Natural convection in a two-dimensional, square porous cavity filled with a nanofluid and with sinusoidal temperature distributions on both side walls and adiabatic conditions on the upper and lower walls is numerically investigated. The flow is assumed to be slow so that advective and Forchheimer quadratic terms are ignored in the momentum equation. The applied sinusoidal temperature is symmetric with respect to the midplane of the enclosure. Numerical calculations are produced for Rayleigh numbers in the range of 10– \(10^{4}\) in comparison with other authors. The present models, in the form of an in-house computational fluid dynamics code, have been validated successfully against the reported results from the open literature. The unusual synthesis of the dimeric dithiolene complex [(PPh3)Pd(ethylene-1,2-dithiolate)]2 (1), containing the simplest dithiolene ligand, has been achieved through the reaction between tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) and Pd(PPh3)4. The complex shows a folded structure in the solid state, according to single crystal X-ray analysis performed on crystals grown from two different system solvents and conditions, with a central [Pd2S2] ring folded about the S···S hinge by 67.9°. The optimized geometry at the DFT level is in excellent agreement with the experimental structure. Moreover, TD-DFT calculations allowed the assignment of the low energy band arising at 576 nm to the HOMO→LUMO transition, between frontier orbitals having mixed metal and dithiolene character. 相似文献

The worldwide consumption of blueberries has increased due to their potential health effects. They contain micronutrients, various phytochemicals and anti-oxidant pigments, represented especially by anthocyanins. In addition to these, carotenoids and fatty acids are also present. The aim of this study was the identification and quantification of carotenoids (by HPLC) and fatty acids (by GC with flame ionisation detection) in two bilberry genotypes (Wild 1 and 2) and three cultivars (BlueCrop, Elliot, and Duke). The main carotenoids identified were lutein, ??-cryptoxanthin, and ??-carotene, with the average total carotenoid content of 266 ??g per 100 g of fruit. The ratio of saturated fatty acids (SFAs) to polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) was 0.098 for Wild 1 and 0.11 for Wild 2 genotypes and ranged from 0.14 to 0.28 for cultivars. The main fatty acids identified were linoleic (18:2) and linolenic (18:3) acids in all the samples analysed. In Vaccinium myrtillus the amount of carotenoids and fatty acids was higher than in Vaccinium corymbosum species. 相似文献

By adding a large inductance in a dc-SQUID phase qubit loop, one decouples the junctions' dynamics and creates a superconducting artificial atom with two internal degrees of freedom. In addition to the usual symmetric plasma mode (s mode) which gives rise to the phase qubit, an antisymmetric mode (a mode) appears. These two modes can be described by two anharmonic oscillators with eigenstates |ns> and |na> for the s and a mode, respectively. We show that a strong nonlinear coupling between the modes leads to a large energy splitting between states |0s,1a> and |2s,0a>. The fundamental absorption edge of glassy alloys of an As–Sb–S system was studied in the temperature range 77–300 K. The spectral and thermal behavior of the fundamental absorption edge of As40–x SbxS60 glasses was shown to be described by an exponential function of phonon energy. The temperature and concentration behavior of the optical band gap in the studied glasses was established. form and the resulting equations are examined in terms of a mixed convection parameter λ and a parameter δ which measures
