We present a new time-splitting scheme for the numerical simulation of fluid–structure interaction between blood flow and vascular walls. This scheme deals in a successful way with the problem of the added mass effect. The scheme is modular and it embodies the stability properties of implicit schemes at the low computational cost of loosely coupled ones.  相似文献

We study the complexity of proving the Pigeon Hole Principle (PHP)in a monotone variant of the Gentzen Calculus, also known as Geometric Logic. We prove a size‐depth trade‐off upper bound for monotone proofs of the standard encoding of the PHP as a monotone sequent. At one extreme of the trade‐off we get quasipolynomia ‐size monotone proofs, and at the other extreme we get subexponential‐size bounded‐depth monotone proofs. This result is a consequence of deriving the basic properties of certain monotone formulas computing the Boolean threshold functions. We also consider the monotone sequent expressing the Clique‐Coclique Principle (CLIQUE) defined by Bonet, Pitassi and Raz [9]. We show that monotone proofs for this sequent can be easily reduced to monotone proofs of the one‐to‐one and onto PHP, and so CLIQUE also has quasipolynomia ‐size monotone proofs. As a consequence of our results, Resolution, Cutting Planes with polynomially bounded coefficients, and Bounded‐Depth Frege are exponentially separated from the monotone Gentzen Calculus. Finally, a simple simulation argument implies that these results extend to the Intuitionistic Gentzen Calculus. Our results partially answer some questions left open by P. Pudlák.  相似文献

We completely characterize the boundedness on Wiener amalgam spaces of the short-time Fourier transform (STFT), and on both L p and Wiener amalgam spaces of a special class of pseudodifferential operators, called localization operators. Precisely, sufficient conditions for the STFT to be bounded on the Wiener amalgam spaces W(L p , L q ) are given and their sharpness is shown. Localization operators are treated similarly: using different techniques from those employed in the literature, we relax the known sufficient boundedness conditions for these operators to be bounded on L p spaces and prove the optimality of our results. Next, we exhibit sufficient and necessary conditions for such operators to be bounded on Wiener amalgam spaces.  相似文献

Let G be the group of projectivities stabilizing a unital \(\mathcal{U}\) in \(\mathop{\mathrm{PG}}(2,q^{2})\) and let A,B be two distinct points of \(\mathcal{U}\). In this paper we prove that, if G has an elation group of order q with center A and a group of projectivities stabilizing both A and B of order a divisor of q?1 greater than \(2(\sqrt{q}-1)\), then \(\mathcal{U}\) is an ovoidal Buekenhout–Metz unital. From this result two group theoretic characterizations of orthogonal Buekenhout–Metz unitals are given.  相似文献

A unital in PG(2, q2) is a set of points such that each line meets in 1 or points. The well‐known example is the classical unital consisting of all absolute points of a unitary polarity of PG(2, q2). Unitals other than the classical one also exist in PG(2, q2) for every . Actually, all known unitals are of Buekenhout–Metz type [see F. Buekenhout, Geom Dedicata 5 (1976), 189–194, R. Metz, Geom Dedicata 8 (1979), 125–126.], and they can be obtained by a construction due to F. Buekenhout, (Geom Dedicata 5 (1976), 189–194).. The unitals constructed by R. D. Baker and G. L. Ebert (J Combin Theory Ser A 60 (1992), 67–84), and independently by J. W. P. Hirschfeld and T. Sz?nyi (Discrete Math 97 (1991), 229–242), are the union of q conics. In this paper we consider some classes of difference equations, including the well-known Clark model, and study the stability of their solutions. In order to do that we introduce a property, namely semicontractivity, and study relations between ‘semi-contractive’ functions and sufficient conditions for the solution of the difference equation to be globally asymptotically stable. Moreover, we establish new sufficient conditions for the solution to be globally asymptotically stable, and we improve the ‘3/2 criteria’ type stability conditions.   相似文献

This work assumes that the small area quantities of interest follow a Fay–Herriot model with spatially correlated random area effects. Under this model, parametric and nonparametric bootstrap procedures are proposed for estimating the mean squared error of the empirical best linear unbiased predictor (EBLUP). A simulation study based on the Italian Agriculture Census 2000 compares bootstrap and analytical estimates of the MSE and studies their robustness to non-normality. Results indicate lower bias for the non-parametric bootstrap under specific departures from normality.   相似文献
