The results of systematic spectral studies of polymers in ophthalmology are presented. The spectral criteria of selection of intraocular lens (IOL; implants of long service in an organism have been defined for poly(methylphenylsiloxane). Non-inflammatory implantation of IOL, when the manufacturing of lenses is performed under spectral control at several stages, has been realized. New siloxane–polyurethane block copolymers promising for ophthalmology have been studied and passivated surfaces have been obtained.  相似文献

Among the large group of xenobiotics released into the environment, petroleum derivatives are particularly dangerous, especially given continuing industrial development and the rising demand for fuel. As increasing amounts of fly ash and sewage sludge are released, it becomes necessary to explore new methods of reusing these types of waste as reclamation agents or nutrient sources. The present study examined how soil contamination with Eco-Diesel oil (0; 10; 20 cm3 kg−1 soil) affected the trace-element content in the aerial parts of maize. Coal and sludge ashes were used as reclamation agents. Our study revealed that diesel oil strongly affected the trace-element content in the aerial parts of maize. In the non-amended group, Eco-Diesel oil contamination led to higher accumulation of the trace elements in maize (with the exception of Pb and Ni), with Cu and Mn content increasing the most. The ashes incorporated into the soil performed inconsistently as a reclamation agent. Overall, the amendment reduced Mn and Fe in the aerial parts of maize while increasing average Cd and Cu levels. No significant effect was noted for the other elements.  相似文献

Theragnostics represent a combination of therapy and diagnosis within one system. Herein, Fe3O4-ZIF-8 core–shell nanoparticles are developed and suggested as candidates for theragnostic applications in cancer treatment. A drug loaded metal–organic framework ZIF-8 (zeolitic imidazolate framework-8) represents the therapeutic tool, while the Fe3O4 core is included to enable the material visualization by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). A reliable synthesis of Fe3O4-ZIF-8 core–shell nanoparticles of an average size below 100 nm is reported. The nanoparticles are characterized by FT-IR, TGA, XRPD, TEM, STEM-EDS, DLS, ICP-OES, CHN-elemental analysis, SQUID measurements, and MRI. Moreover, their chemical stability and in vitro cytotoxicity against fibroblast and selected cancer cell lines are evaluated. As a model drug, arsenic trioxide—a promising anticancer drug—is used. The drug release can be triggered by a pH change from 7.4 to 6.0 and the nanoparticles can be visualized by MRI in vitro, thus a potential theragnostic agent for cancer treatment is developed.  相似文献

Features of the biochemical adaptations of alkaliphilic fungi to exist in extreme environments could promote the production of active antibiotic compounds with the potential to control microorganisms, causing infections associated with health care. Thirty-eight alkaliphilic and alkalitolerant Emericellopsis strains (E. alkalina, E. cf. maritima, E. cf. terricola, Emericellopsis sp.) isolated from different saline soda soils and belonging to marine, terrestrial, and soda soil ecological clades were investigated for emericellipsin A (EmiA) biosynthesis, an antifungal peptaibol previously described for Emericellopsis alkalina. The analysis of the Emericellopsis sp. strains belonging to marine and terrestrial clades from chloride soils revealed another novel form with a mass of 1032.7 Da, defined by MALDI-TOF Ms/Ms spectrometers, as the EmiA lacked a hydroxyl (dEmiA). EmiA displayed strong inhibitory effects on cell proliferation and viability of HCT 116 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manners and induced apoptosis.  相似文献

This paper discusses the electrochemical behavior of antiviral drug Tenofovir (TFV) and its possible applicability towards electroanalytical determination with diverse detection strategies using square-wave voltammetry. Namely, oxidation processes were investigated using glassy carbon electrode with graphene oxide surface modification (GO/GCE), while the reduction processes, related to the studied analyte, were analyzed at a renewable silver amalgam electrode (Hg(Ag)FE). Scanning electron microscopy imaging confirmed the successful deposition of GO at the electrode surface. Catalytic properties of graphene oxide were exposed while being compared with those of bare GCE. The resultant modification of GCE with GO enhanced the electroactive surface area by 50% in comparison to the bare one. At both electrodes, i.e., GO/GCE and Hg(Ag)FE, the TFV response was used to examine and optimize the influence of square-wave excitation parameters, i.e., square wave frequency, step potential and amplitude, and supporting electrolyte composition and its pH. Broad selectivity studies were performed with miscellaneous interfering agents influence, including ascorbic acid, selected saccharides and aminoacids, metal ions, non-opioid analgesic metamizole, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug omeprazole, and several drugs used along with TFV treatment. The linear concentration range for TFV determination at GO/GCE and Hg(Ag)FE was found to be 0.3–30.0 µmol L–1 and 0.5–7.0 µmol L–1, respectively. The lowest LOD was calculated for GO/GCE and was equal to 48.6 nmol L–1. The developed procedure was used to detect TFV in pharmaceutical formulations and patient urine samples and has referenced utilization in HPLC studies.  相似文献

In the present study, the molar heat capacity of solid formamidinium lead iodide (CH5N2PbI3) was measured over the temperature range from 5 to 357 K using a precise automated adiabatic calorimeter. In the above temperature interval, three distinct phase transitions were found in ranges from 49 to 56 K, from 110 to 178 K, and from 264 to 277 K. The standard thermodynamic functions of the studied perovskite, namely the heat capacity C°p(T), enthalpy [H0(T) − H0(0)], entropy S0(T), and [G°(T) − H°(0)]/T, were calculated for the temperature range from 0 to 345 K based on the experimental data. Herein, the results are discussed and compared with those available in the literature as measured by nonclassical methods.  相似文献

Antibodies are an attractive therapeutic modality for cancer treatment as they allow the increase of the treatment response rate and avoid the severe side effects of chemotherapy. Notwithstanding the strong benefit of antibodies, the efficacy of anti-cancer antibodies can dramatically vary among patients and ultimately result in no response to the treatment. Here, we have developed a novel means to regioselectively label the Fc domain of any therapeutic antibody with a radionuclide chelator in a single step chemistry, with the aim to study by SPECT/CT imaging if the radiolabeled antibody is capable of targeting cancer cells in vivo. A Fc-III peptide was used as bait to bring a carbonate electrophilic site linked to a metal chelator and to a carboxyphenyl leaving group in close proximity with an antibody Fc nucleophile amino acid (K317), thereby triggering the covalent linkage of the chelator to the antibody lysine, with the concomitant release of the carboxyphenyl Fc-III ligand. Using CHX-A′′-DTPA, we radiolabeled trastuzumab with indium-111 and showed in biodistribution and imaging experiments that the antibody accumulated successfully in the SK-OV-3 xenograft tumour implanted in mice. We found that our methodology leads to homogeneous conjugation of CHX-A′′-DTPA to the antibody, and confirmed that the Fc domain can be selectively labeled at K317, with a minor level of unspecific labeling on the Fab domain. The present method can be developed as a clinical diagnostic tool to predict the success of the therapy. Furthermore, our Fc-III one step chemistry concept paves the way to a broad array of other applications in antibody bioengineering.

Ozone has been successfully employed in water treatment due to its ability to oxidize a wide variety of refractory compounds. In order to increase the process efficiency and optimize its economy, the implementation of heterogeneous catalysts has been encouraged. In this context, the use of cheap and widely available natural materials is a promising option that would promote the utilization of ozone in a cost-effective water treatment process. This review describes the use of natural clays, zeolites and oxides as supports or active catalysts in the ozonation process, with emphasis on the structural characteristics and modifications performed in the raw natural materials; the catalytic oxidation mechanism; effect of the operating parameters and degradation efficiency outcomes. According to the information compiled, more research in realistic scenarios is needed (i.e., real wastewater matrix or continuous operation in pilot scale) in order to transfer this technology to the treatment of real wastewater streams.  相似文献
