Lanthanide complexes are of increasing importance in cancer diagnosis and therapy. In the present study 1:1 and 1:3 solid complexes of La (III)–5-FU (5-fluorouracil) were prepared and characterized. In solution, the formation of 1:1 La (III) and Eu (III) complexes enabled the enhancement of 5-FU's effectiveness. Binding constants of the 1:1 complexes of both metals were estimated using spectrophotometry and HPLC with fluorescence detection methods. The thermodynamic parameters ΔG ° , ΔH ° and ΔS ° were calculated using differential scanning calorimetry. Evaluation of the cytotoxic activity of the 1:1 La (III)- and Eu (III)–5-FU complexes was performed through two methodologies, trypan blue for cell viability where La (III)- and Eu (III)–5-FU complexes were found to have 52,000 and 80,000 dead cells, respectively, and via flow cytometric analysis to measure the apoptotic values, which were found to be 59.87 and 86.86% respectively.  相似文献

Several binary systems made from two laterally substituted azo/ester isomers, namely 2?- (and 3?-) methyl-4-substituted phenyl 4?-(4?-alkoxyphenylazo) benzoates, where the length of the terminal alkoxy group = 8 and 16 carbons, while the other terminal substituent, X, varies between CH3O, CH3, H, Br and CN groups, were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and phases identified by polarised light microscope (PLM). For the sake of comparison, two another binary systems made from 2?- (or 3?-) methyl-4-substituted phenyl 4?-(4?-alkoxyphenylazo) benzoates (n = 8 and X = CH3) each was mixed with its laterally neat analogue and similarly investigated. Results were discussed on the basis of constructed phase diagrams whereby various mesomorphic properties were observed dependent on X, n, and position of the lateral methyl group. In most of the cases, the mixtures exhibited eutectic compositions, while linear or nearly linear nematic and smectic A-composition temperature dependence were observed.  相似文献

A number of 3-substituted-2-(substituted-phenoxymethyl) quinazolin-4(3H)-one derivatives 4a,b, 5a-c, 6, 7a-f, 8a-e and 9a,b have been synthesized. Their structures have been elucidated on the basis of elemental analyses and spectroscopic studies (IR, 1H-NMR, MS). A preliminary evaluation of the anticonvulsant activity of the prepared compounds has indicated that compounds 4b, 7b-f, 8a and 9b exhibit significant anticonvulsant activity, while compounds 6, 8b and 8d show mild to moderate activity.  相似文献

We describe an improved diagnostic method for tyrosinemia type 1 based on quantifying succinylacetone in dried blood spots by ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. Succinylacetone extracted from a single 3/16 inch disk of specimen collection paper containing a dried blood spot was derivatized with dansylhydrazine, separated on an Acquity UPLC BEH C(18) column (2.1 x 50 mm, 1.7 microm) and detected by electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry. Succinylacetone derivative eluted at 0.6 min with a complete run time of 1 min. Using a 13C4 labeled succinylacetone as an internal standard, the calibration plot was linear up to 100 micromol/L with a detection limit (S/N = 3) of 0.2 micromol/L. Intra-day (n = 13) and inter-day (n = 10) variations were better than 10%. The cutoff level of succinylacetone in dried blood spots from healthy infants obtained by the current method was 0.63 micromol/L (n = 151). In dried blood spots from patients with established tyrosinemia type 1 (n = 11), concentration of succinylacetone was 6.4-30.8 micromol/L.  相似文献

Fucoidan is a fucose-rich sulfated polysaccharide typically found in the cell wall of marine algae but also recently isolated from terrestrial sources. Due to a variety of biological activities, including antioxidant properties, fucoidan exhibits an attractive therapeutic potential against a wide array of metabolic diseases associated with oxidative stress. We used FTIR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy to investigate the structural features of a fucoidan fraction extracted from the brown alga Cystoseira compressa (CYS). The antioxidant potential of CYS was measured by DPPH, ABTS and FRAP assays, which revealed a radical scavenging capacity that was confirmed in in vitro cellular models of hepatic and endothelial cells. The same antioxidant effects were observed for another fucoidan fraction previously identified in the terrestrial tree Eucalyptus globulus (EUC). Moreover, in hepatic cells, CYS and EUC exhibited a significant antisteatotic action, being able to reduce intracellular triglyceride content through the regulation of key genes of hepatic lipid metabolism. EUC exerted stronger antioxidant and antisteatotic effects as compared to CYS, suggesting that both marine and terrestrial sources should be considered for fucoidan extraction and therapeutic applications.  相似文献

A new solid — phase extraction sorbent was developed based on stepwise anchoring of two ligand molecules for the determination of copper, zinc, lead and cadmium in drinking water by flame AAS. Amberlite XAD-2 functionalized with 4′-(2-hydroxyphenylazo)-3′-methyl-1′-phenyl-2′-pyrazolin-5′-one (HPAPyr) was utilized for preconcentration/separation of these elements. The sorbent was prepared by two successive azo coupling reactions. First, 2-aminophenol was anchored to the amino groups in the resin resulted from nitration followed by reduction. Then, the resulted 2-aminophenol functionalized resin was further diazotized and coupled to the pyrazolone compound and the final product HPAPyr-XAD-2 was characterized by IR and elemental analysis. The optimum pH range for sorption, shaking time, exchange capacity, sample flow rate, preconcentration factor and interference from co-existing ions were investigated. All metal ions were quantitatively desorbed from the resin by 4.5 mol L−1 nitric acid solution. The sorbent provides limit of detection within the range 0.9–3.3 μg L−1 and concentration factor up to 250. The procedure was validated by analysis of certified material NIST-SRM 1577b. Application to drinking water showed satisfactory results with relative standard deviation RSD ≤ 8.5%.   相似文献

Solid-phase extraction and HPLC methods are described for monitoring of 17-β-estradiol residues in Egyptian aquatic ecosystems (water, fish, mollusks, sediment, and drinking water) at the Nile River, Suez Canal region, and northeast of Egypt. Molecular imprinted polymer was prepared and used in extraction. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) columns used were Supelcosil C18 and Nucleosil C18. The mobile phases used were different combinations of water and acetonitrile. The concentration of 17-β-estradiol in water, aquatic animals, and sediment samples were of 265.13–7988.12 µg/L, 0.503–96.167, and 0.775–11.884 µg/kg, respectively. Marine lake was contained with high levels of 17-β-estradiol (P < 0.05). Similarly, the Nile River downstream showed high levels of 17-β-estradiol. The detected concentrations in mollusks were significantly higher than those detected in fish. Tilapia fish did not show 17-β-estradiol. Contrarily, low concentrations were detected in the rivulet streams supplied by the Nile River. Besides, 17-β-estradiol was also detected in the sediments at low levels. Detection of 17-β-estradiol in the Egyptian ecosystems attracted attention toward heavy reliance on some esterogenic medicinal products in Egypt. The monitoring of 17-β-estradiol in other water bodies was recommended. Besides, the development of methodologies of bioremediation to eliminate 17-β-estradiol from the Egyptian and other water resources of the world was also suggested.  相似文献

A hybrid optical switch (HOS) with physical layer of wavelength division multiplexing and optical code division multiplexing (WDM/OCDM) scheme is proposed. An additional feature to the HOS than optical cross connect (OXC) is that the controller can process requests for both circuit establishment and burst scheduling. In our study, the measurement criteria of HOS are the blocking probability, probability of error, and probability of outage. To simplify the analysis, no distinction is made between a circuit in progress and a burst in progress. Moreover, a minimum fit (MinF) resource allocation strategy is applied in order to increase the bandwidth efficiency and control the multiplexing interference of the OCDM. A 2D Markov model for the HOS is presented using the MinF strategy. Numerical results reveal that the code parameters and the resource allocation strategy greatly affect the performance. Certain periority can be achieved by assigning shorter codes to high periority users and longer codes to low periority users. Also, the probability of error and outage are reduced bv aonling the MinF strategy.  相似文献

An acousto-optic modulator (AOM), also called a Bragg cell, uses the acousto-optic effect to diffract and shift the frequency of light using sound waves (usually at radio frequency). They are used in lasers for quality switching, telecommunications for signal modulation, and in spectroscopy for frequency control. This paper has presented the best candidate selected acousto optic materials based AOM for upgrading speed response and transmission performance characteristics. These materials are common materials for acousto-optic devices such as silica glass (SiO2), tellurium dioxide TeO2), gallium phosphide, and gallium arsenide. As well as we have deeply investigated the important transmission characteristics of acousto optic modulators such as transmission performance efficiency, transmission bit rate, diffraction angle and efficiency, transient speed response, signal transmission quality, bit error rate and modulation bandwidth under wide range of the affecting parameters for different selected acousto optic materials to be the major of interest.  相似文献
