Effect of CO on hydrogen adsorption on palladium

Coadsorption of H₂ and CO on Pd has been studied using TDS and ESD techniques. It has been observed that the presence of 10% CO in the H₂ dosing gas during exposure gives rise to a drastic change in the TDS spectra of H₂ compared to the case when only H₂ is separately adsorbed. Furthermore, significant modifications occur in the ESD energy distribution of CO⁺ and H⁺ as a result of coadsorption of H₂ and CO. These observations are taken as evidence of adsorbate interaction possibly resulting in formation of an HCO surface complex.     

Difference Schemes on Nonuniform Grids for the Two-Dimensional Convection–Diffusion Equation

New second-order accurate monotone difference schemes on nonuniform spatial grids for two-dimensional stationary and nonstationary convection–diffusion equations are proposed. The monotonicity and stability of the solutions of the computational methods with respect to the boundary conditions, the initial condition, and the right-hand side are proved. Two-sided and corresponding a priori estimates are obtained in the grid norm of C. The convergence of the proposed algorithms to the solution of the original differential problem with the second order is proved.

We study a quasilinear elliptic equation in the unit ball ofℝ ^m . Using this result we get the existence of graphs with prescribed curvature on hyperbolic spacesℍ ^m inℍ ^m ×ℝ.     

Triple negative permeability band in plasmon-hybridized cut-wire-pair metamaterials

We expand the picture of plasmon hybridization in metamagnetic structure via numerically studying the electromagnetic coupling in the metallic cut-wire-pair super cells. It is shown that a triple negative permeability band can be achieved by systematically controlling the plasmon hybridization in such the structure. The corresponding transmission properties as well as the electromagnetic responses of the plasmon-hybridized structures were presented by using the finite integration technique simulations. Our results would reveal a promising design to obtain the multiple negative refractions based on the combination of hybridized cut-wire-pairs and continuous wires.
