Molecular mobility in crystalline anhydrous caffeine was studied by the dielectric technique of thermally stimulated depolarization currents (TSDC). Two relaxational processes were found, one appearing at approximately -10 degrees C that is ascribed to a reorientational glass transition, and a higher temperature one that probably arises from local molecular motions that are precursors of diffusion and sublimation. The experimental results suggest that both crystalline phases II and I of caffeine, that have distinct crystal structures, are solid rotator phases. Furthermore, this dynamic reorientational disorder shows a reorientational glass transition at the same temperature in phase II and in metastable phase I. 相似文献

to investigate the role of clay on the combustion and kinetic behavior of
crude oils in limestone matrix. For this purpose, simultaneous TG (thermogravimetry)
and DTA (differential thermal analysis) experiments were performed at three
different heating rates as 10–15 and 20°C min–1,
respectively. A uniform trend of decreasing activation energies was observed
with the addition of clay. It was concluded that clays surface area affects
the values of Arrhenius constant, while it is the catalytic properties of
clay, which lower the activation energies of all the reactions, involved in

This paper proposes a methodology for the classification and determination of total protein in milk powder using near infrared reflectance spectrometry (NIRS) and variable selection. Two brands of milk powder were acquired from three Brazilian cities (Natal-RN, Salvador-BA and Rio de Janeiro-RJ). The protein content of 38 samples was determined by the Kjeldahl method and NIRS analysis. Principal component regression (PCR) and partial least squares (PLS) multivariate calibrations were used to predict the total protein. Soft independent modeling of class analogy (SIMCA) was also used for full-spectrum classification, resulting in almost 100% classification accuracy, regardless of the significance level adopted for the F-test. Using this strategy, it was feasible to classify powder milk rapidly and nondestructively without the need for various analytical determinations. Concerning the multivariate calibration models, the results show that PCR, PLS and MLR-SPA models are good for predicting total protein in powder milk; the respective root mean square errors of prediction (RMSEP) were 0.28 (PCR), 0.25 (PLS), 0.11 wt% (MLR-SPA) with an average sample protein content of 8.1 wt%. The results obtained in this investigation suggest that the proposed methodology is a promising alternative for the determination of total protein in milk powder. 相似文献

Water is a fundamental element of life. Its multiple uses are indispensable for a wide spectrum of human activities. This study aims to characterize water from different salinities obtained in the Cariri region of Paraíba, Brazil. The samples were analyzed using the DSC-coupled to the Peltier system (DSC-Cooling) and physical–chemical water tests performed employing reactive kits, using the Spectroquant Merck? specific for each test. The calorimetric curves showed crystallization phase transitions with different characteristics in peak format and crystallization temperatures between the samples of different salinities. The calorimetric data obtained in the process of crystallization of water is directly correlated to the physico-chemical parameters of conductivity and total dissolved solids, showing that the analytical technology DSC-cooling/heating is suitable for characterization of different salinities water. 相似文献

H-magadiite was applied to remove the pesticides 2,4-d, diuron, and atrazine from water. The H-magadiite containing herbicides adsorbed were investigated by FTIR, DRX, N2 adsorption and desorption isotherms, and surface area. Calorimetric studies were carried out to determine the heat of interaction
between pesticides and magadiite. It was possible to ride the cycle of interaction of magadiite–pesticide for a better understanding
of the process involved. From the results of the thermal effect of the interaction of magadiite–pesticide, the thermochemical
parameters can be determined by using the relationship between the data obtained from adsorption and calorimetry results.
The interaction of pesticide–magadiite follows the sequence of adsorption: diuron > atrazine > 2,4-d. The ΔH values for the interactions were determined to be −20.62 ± 1.08, −24.04 ± 0.86–26.34 ± 0.93 kJ mol−1 for 2,4-d, diuron and atrazine, respectively. All the interactions were spontaneous, enthalpically and entropically favored demonstrating
