An Algebraic Approach to the Generalized Symmetrical Double-Well Potential

We have obtained the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions for the generalized double-well potential in the non-relativistic Schr?dinger equation. We have calculated the creation and annihilation operators directly from the eigenfunction and we have shown these operators satisfy the commutation relation of the SU(2) group. We have expressed the Hamiltonian in terms of the su(2) algebra. Some interesting result including the standard symmetrical double-well potential, reflectionless-type potential and V ₀tanh ²(r/d) potential are also discussed.     

Algebraic Approach for Shape Invariant Potentials in?Klein-Gordon Equation

The Shape invariant method has the algebraic structure and its algebras are infinite-dimensional. These algebras are converted into finite-dimensional under conditions. Based on the property of this method we obtain the algebraic structure of some physical potentials in the s-wave Klein-Gordon equation with scalar and vector potential which satisfy the Shape invariant condition.     

Quantum phase properties associated to solvable quantum systems using the nonlinear coherent states approach

In this paper we study the quantum phase properties of “nonlinear coherent states” and “solvable quantum systems with discrete spectra” using the Pegg-Barnett formalism in a unified approach. The presented procedure will then be applied to few special solvable quantum systems with known discrete spectrum as well as to some new classes of nonlinear oscillators with particular nonlinearity functions. Finally the associated phase distributions and their nonclasscial properties such as the squeezing in number and phase operators have been investigated, numerically.

Adaptive estimation of nonlinear parameters of a nonholonomic spherical robot using a modified fuzzy-based speed gradient algorithm

This paper deals with adaptive estimation of the unknown parameters and states of a pendulum-driven spherical robot (PDSR), which is a nonlinear in parameters (NLP) chaotic system with parametric uncertainties. Firstly, the mathematical model of the robot is deduced by applying the Newton–Euler methodology for a system of rigid bodies. Then, based on the speed gradient (SG) algorithm, the states and unknown parameters of the robot are estimated online for different step length gains and initial conditions. The estimated parameters are updated adaptively according to the error between estimated and true state values. Since the errors of the estimated states and parameters as well as the convergence rates depend significantly on the value of step length gain, this gain should be chosen optimally. Hence, a heuristic fuzzy logic controller is employed to adjust the gain adaptively. Simulation results indicate that the proposed approach is highly encouraging for identification of this NLP chaotic system even if the initial conditions change and the uncertainties increase; therefore, it is reliable to be implemented on a real robot.

Chemical constituents of the essential oil from aerial parts and fruit of Anisosciadium orientale

The essential oils from aerial parts and fruits of Anisosciadium orientale DC. growing wild in Iran were obtained by hydrodistillation and analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Seventy-one compounds were identified in the fruit oil and fifteen in the oil from the aerial parts. The main oil components of the fruits and aerial parts were myristicin (33.5%-33.7%), alpha-terpinolene (22%-25.8%) and limonene (19.5%-19.7%). Some compounds, such as geranyl butyrate and germacrene-D, were only detected in the fruit oil.     

On the Structure of Minimal Sets of Relatively Nonexpansive Mappings

In this article, we study the structure of minimal sets of relatively non-expansive mappings. We consider the cyclic and the noncyclic cases and show that results alike to the celebrated Goebel-Karlovitz lemma for non-expansive self-mappings can be obtained for relatively non-expansive mappings.     

Incoherent interaction between bright–bright photovoltaic soliton in an unbiased series two-photon photorefractive crystal circuit

We have investigated incoherent interaction between photovoltaic bright–bright soliton pairs in photorefractive crystals under steady-state condition in an unbiased series two-photon photorefractive crystal circuit in one dimension. The numerical scheme according to the Crank-Nicholson and Runge-kutta methods are applied to simulate the propagation of incoherent interaction for different normalized separation distances and different E₀. Results show that in the case of one-dimensional interaction between these photovoltaic solitons, attraction occurs and width of beams decreases with increasing biased field E₀ and two soliton interact in longer distance for smaller E₀. The result can be used for design optical switches that controlled by biased field.
