We proposed an interface molecule for immobilization of DNA probes on solid substrates of DNA chips. We have designed and synthesized tripodal thiol derivatives for stable immobilization of oligonucleotide probes on a gold surface. On the basis of the tetrahedral structure of tripod, the tripodal thiol derivatives were bonded upright to the gold substrate, which would control the orientation of oligonucleotide probes. When the gold substrate with oligonucleotide probes tethered using the thiol derivatives was exposed to deionized water at higher temperatures, the tripodal interface molecules were attached to the gold surface more stably than the single contact molecules. The DNA chip platform combined with the functional interface molecule is suitable for a reproducible, inexpensive, and high-throughput detection system for genetic analyses in clinical diagnostics. 相似文献

Site-selected and size-controlled iron nanoparticles were prepared on coplanar surfaces via microcontact printing of SAM-modified Au/mica electrodes and controlled-potential electrolytic reactions using ferritin biomolecules. Ferritin molecules packed like a full monolayer on 6-amino-1-hexanethiol (AHT)- and 11-amino-1-undecanethiol (AUT)-modified Au/mica surface via electrostatic interactions, which did not depend on the chain length of the amino terminal alkane thiols. After heat-treatment at 400 degrees C for 60 min, iron oxide nanoparticles (ca. 5 nm in diameter) derived from ferritin cores were observed at the Au/mica surface by atomic force microscopy (AFM). On the study on the electrochemistry of ferritin immobilized onto AHT- and AUT-modified Au/mica electrodes, the redox response of the ferritin immobilized AHT-modified electrode was clearly observed. On the other hand, no redox peak for ferritin was obtained at the AUT-modified electrode. The electron transfer between ferritin and the electrode through the AUT membrane could not take place. The difference in the electrochemical response of ferritin immobilized onto AHT- and AUT-modified Au/mica was caused by the chain length of the amino terminal alkane thiols. Uniform patterns of AHT and AUT on the Au/mica electrode surface were performed by use of a poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) stamp. After the immobilization of ferritin onto both AHT- and AUT-modified electrode surfaces, the modified electrode was applied to a -0.5 V potential for 30 min in a phosphate buffer solution. After this procedure, the PDMS stamp patterning image appeared by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image. We show that Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interactions can substantially modify the phase diagram of spin-1/2 Heisenberg ladders in a magnetic field provided they compete with exchange. For nonfrustrated ladders, they induce a local magnetization along the DM vector that turns the gapless intermediate phase into an Ising phase with broken translational symmetry, while for frustrated ladders, they extend the Ising order of the half-integer plateau to the surrounding gapless phases of the purely Heisenberg case. We explored a "template-free" approach to arranging colloidal particles into a network pattern by a convective self-assembly technique. In this approach, which we call "two-step convective self-assembly," a stripe pattern of colloidal particles is first prepared on a substrate by immersing it in a suspension. The substrate with the stripes is then rotated by 90° and again immersed in the suspension to produce stripes perpendicular to the first ones, resulting in a grid-pattern network of colloidal arrays. The width of the colloidal grid lines can be controlled by changing the particle concentration while maintaining an almost constant spacing between the lines. On the basis of these results, we propose a mechanism for grid pattern formation. Our method is applicable to various types of particles. In addition, the wide applicability of this method was employed to create a hybrid grid pattern. 相似文献

In the thermoluminescence (TL) detection method for irradiated foods, accurate standards have been developed for detecting irradiated foods. The standard method describes that emission maximum temperature (T1i) and TL ratio for non-heated or non-mixed sample can be in the range of 150–250 °C and more than 0.1, respectively, when it was irradiated food. But when irradiated food is heated up to 200 °C, or mixed up with non-irradiated stuffs, T1i and TL ratio would not drop in the range. Here we examined the effects of the two processes, heating and mixing with non-irradiated food, on T1i and G1/G1k ratio (ratio of G1 and average G1 for 1-kGy-irradiated JF2, this value is modeled after TL ratio) using a model consisting of irradiated and non-irradiated geochemical standards of feldspar (JF1, JF2, PF, etc.). T1i temperatures for irradiated JF1, JF2, and PF ranged from 163 to 175 °C, while those for the non-irradiated JF2 ranged from 253 to 263 °C. T1i temperatures for 5-kGy-irradiated and preheated JF2 for 10 s, 20 s, and 30 s at 180 °C were 215, 225, and 231 °C, respectively.When JF2 was irradiated from 100 Gy to 5 kGy, the T1i was almost constant at any doses. G1/G1k ratios at 100, 200, and 500 Gy were 0.15, 0.23, and 0.60, respectively. G1/G1k ratio was proportional to the given dose at the integration temperature ranges.The TS sample, which originated from farm soil in Tanegashima Island, gave the same results as JF2. T1is for 5-kGy-irradiated and preheated JF2 for 20 s at 150, 180, and 200 °C were 197, 225, and 246 °C, respectively. Longer and higher preheating resulted in higher T1i. Longer and higher preheating extremely reduced the G1/G1k ratio, and in some cases the ratio was less than 0.1. This means TL ratio is useless in determination of the standard for irradiated food.Peak temperatures for JF2 in mixture of 5-kGy-irradiated to non-irradiated (1.25–5%) were 261–263 °C (non-irradiated portion, T1n) and 177–180 °C (irradiated portion T1i). The peak positions are almost the same as those of original components and would not be affected by the mixing ratio. But TL ratio could not be used to determine irradiated food because mixing would reduce it remarkably.Some of the glow curves were simulated by a computer program.In conclusion, T1i/n is a key factor in an irradiated food determination practice for sample containing feldspar, rather than TL ratio. 相似文献

The wide range optical spectra on a multiferroic prototype TbMnO3 have been investigated to clarify the origin of spin excitations observed in the far-infrared region. We elucidate the full band structure, whose high energy edge (133 cm;{-1}) exactly corresponds to twice of the highest-lying magnon energy. Thus the origin of this absorption band is clearly assigned to two-magnon excitation driven by the electric field of light. There is an overlap between the two-magnon and phonon energy ranges, where the strong coupling between them is manifested by the frequency shift and transfer of oscillator strength of the phonon mode. 相似文献
