We search for color singlet technirho and technipion production in p&pmacr; collisions at sqrt[s] = 1.8 TeV recorded with the Collider Detector at Fermilab. These exotic technimesons are present in a model of walking technicolor. The signatures studied are lepton plus two jets plus E(T) and multijet final states. No excess of events is seen in either final state. We set an upper limit on the technirho production cross section and exclude a region in the technipion mass versus technirho mass plane.  相似文献

We report results from a study of events with a leading antiproton of beam momentum fraction 0.9057 GeV. Using the dijet events, we evaluate the diffractive structure function of the antiproton and compare it with expectations based on results obtained in diffractive deep inelastic scattering experiments at the DESY ep collider HERA.  相似文献

Based upon ab initio electronic structure calculations for delafossite CuAlO2 and ZnO, we report on the design of new-functional materials for transparent conducting oxides (TCO), such as (i) low-resistive p-type ZnO and CuAlO2 by co-doping, (ii) high-efficiency thermoelectric power in CuAlO2 (ZT>3) by p-type doping, (iii) half-metallic ferromagnetism in transition-metal-impurity doped CuAlO2 and ZnO-based diluted magnetic semiconductors, and (iv) CaO, MgO, SrO and BaO based DMS without transition metal impurities. The Kosa (yellow sand) aerosol affects the global environment as well as human health because it migrates from the interior of China to other areas, absorbing various atmospheric elements. Investigation into individual Kosa aerosol particles, which are submicroscopic to several tens of micrometers in diameter, is required to resolving the issue. We installed a scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDX) on a synchrotron radiation (SR) beam line and introduced the SR beam into the SEM chamber for combinatorial application of SEM-EDX and SR X-ray fluorescence (SR-XRF) spectrometry to individual particles. It should be noted that detailed topographic observation by SEM and sensitive elemental analysis by SR-XRF, both crucial for individual particle measurement but which previously had to be carried out separately, were jointly performed inside the SEM chamber in this setup. Here, we show that SR-XRF results, in conjunction with SEM images, contributed toward resolving individual particle dispositions. Atmospheric sulfur primarily adheres to calcium in the aerosol particles and the particle surface roughens as a consequence of the chemical reaction between the two elements.  相似文献

We study a way ofq-deformation of the bi-local system, the two-particle system bounded by a relativistic harmonic-oscillator type of potential, from both points of view of mass spectra and the behavior of scattering amplitudes. In our formulation, the deformation is done so thatP 2, the square of center-of-mass momentum, enters into the deformation parameters of relative coordinates. As a result, the wave equation of the bi-local system becomes nonlinear with respect toP 2; then, the propagator of the bi-local system suffers significant change so as to get a convergent self energy to the second order. The study is also made on the covariantq-deformation in four-dimensional spacetime.  相似文献

We propose a conformational search method to find a global minimum energy structure for protein systems. The simulated annealing is a powerful method for local conformational search. On the other hand, the genetic crossover can search the global conformational space. Our method incorporates these attractive features of the simulated annealing and genetic crossover. In the previous works, we have been using the Monte Carlo algorithm for simulated annealing. In the present work, we use the molecular dynamics algorithm instead. To examine the effectiveness of our method, we compared our results with those of the normal simulated annealing molecular dynamics simulations by using an α-helical miniprotein. We used genetic two-point crossover here. The conformations, which have lower energy than those obtained from the conventional simulated annealing, were obtained.  相似文献
