In the development of attosecond molecular science, a series of experiments have recently been performed where ionic fragment asymmetries in the dissociative ionization of H(2) into H(+) + H and that of D(2) into D(+) + D were used to uncover electron localization processes that occur on the attosecond and few-femtosecond timescale. Electron localization was observed both in strong-field dissociative ionization using carrier envelope phase-stable few-cycle laser pulses [Kling et al., Science, 2006, 312, 246] and in a two-color extreme ultra-violet + infrared attosecond pump-probe experiment [Sansone et al., Nature, 2010, 465, 763]. Here we show that the observed electron localization can be well understood using a semi-classical model that describes the dynamics in terms of quasi-static states that take the interaction of the molecule with the laser field instantaneously into account. The electron localization is shown to be determined by the passage of the dissociating molecule through a regime where the laser-molecule interaction is neither diabatic nor adiabatic. 相似文献

Compact microspheres with high-quality (Q) whispering gallery modes are required for many applications involving liquid immersion, such as sensing nanoparticles and studying resonant radiative pressure effects. We show that high-index (1.9 and 2.1) barium titanate glass (BTG) microspheres are perfect candidates for these applications due to their high-Q (~10(4) in the 1100-1600 nm range) resonances evanescently excited in spheres with diameters of 4-15 μm. By reattaching the spheres at different positions along a tapered optical fiber, we show that the coupling constant exponentially increases with thinner fiber diameters. We demonstrate the close to critical coupling regime with intrinsic Q=3×10(4) for water immersed 14 μm BTG spheres. 相似文献

We study periodic solutions for a quasi-linear system, which naturally arises in search of integrable Hamiltonian systems
of the form H = p
2/2 + u(q, t). Our main result classifies completely periodic solutions for such a 3 by 3 system. We prove that the only periodic solutions
have the form of traveling waves so, in particular, the potential u is a function of a linear combination of t and q. This result implies that the there are no nontrivial cases of the existence of a fourth power integral of motion for H: if it exists, then it is equal necessarily to the square of a quadratic integral. system is the genuine non-linearity of the maximal and minimal eigenvalues in the sense of Lax. We use this observation in

Silver nano-colloid was prepared by chemical reduction method and its nonlinear absorption properties were investigated by using open aperture z-scan experiment with nanosecond laser pulses operating at 532?nm. Interestingly, a switch over from saturable absorption to reverse saturable absorption was observed when the input intensity is increased from 28.1 to 175.8?MW/cm2. The underlying mechanism responsible for the observed switching behaviour is the interplay between ground state plasmon band bleaching and excited state absorption.
