The properties of the discharge in and radiation from an open gas-filled diode to which high-voltage nanosecond pulses are applied from the RADAN-220 generator are studied. Electromagnetic radiation in the X-ray, UV, visible, and near-IR ranges of the spectrum, as well as high-power subnanosecond (0.5-to 0.7-ns-long) pulses of ultra-wide-band (UWB) electromagnetic radiation, are recorded when a diffuse discharge is initiated in atmospheric pressure air. For the coaxial cathode and anode, the open gas diode emits radially polarized UWB pulses, whereas for the cathode in the form of a segment, the UWB radiation is linearly polarized. The effective potential for both designs of the diode is ER = 6 kV. It is shown that the plasma in the discharge gap serves as a source of soft X rays and the metallic anode generates hard X rays. 相似文献

We present our results on developing a diagnostic complex for high-precision characterization of the parameters of laser-fusion
microobjects, such as microspheres and cryogenic targets (the microobject size is 1–2 mm). The complex operates based on the
principle of tomography. The complex consists of (a) the scanning system providing a set of shadow projections of a microobject
in the visible range of radiation and (b) specially developed software for 3D reconstruction of the microobject from the set
of projections. The spatial resolution of the optical system is 1 μm for a probing-radiation wavelength of 490 nm. The distinctive
features of the diagnostic complex are (1) operation with both free-standing and mounted targets and (2) the possibility of
scanning the targets from room to cryogenic temperatures. The operation of the complex was demonstrated in the reconstruction

We show (i) how the evolution of a wave packet created from an initial thermal ensemble can be controlled by manipulating interferences during the wave packet's fractional revivals and (ii) how the wave-packet evolution can be mapped onto the dynamics of a few-state system, where the number of states is determined by the amount of information one wants to track about the wave packet in the phase space. We study crossing vortices in strongly anisotropic Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta single crystals. Using scanning Hall probe microscopy and Bitter decoration techniques, we find an asymmetry of magnetic field profiles produced by pancake vortices (PVs), which are interacting with Josephson vortices (JVs), near the surface of the crystal. We attribute the observed asymmetry to a substantial tilt (14-18 degrees) of PV stacks, which is produced by the torque due to the surface currents and JVs. We calculate the tilt angle and obtain agreement with experimental data when the irreversible in-plane magnetization is included. A further refinement to the model is considered which accounts for a reduction in the PV stack line tension near the sample surface. 相似文献
