Copositivity plays a role in combinatorial and nonconvex quadratic optimization. However, testing copositivity of a given matrix is a co-NP-complete problem. We improve a previously given branch-and-bound type algorithm for testing copositivity and discuss its behavior in particular for the maximum clique problem. Different separation (HPAEC, RP-HPLC, CE) and identification (MALDI-TOF-MS, ESI-MS(n)) techniques were compared to analyse oligosaccharides obtained after incubation of xyloglucan with endo-glucanase. It was possible to analyse xyloglucan oligosaccharides with each technique. Several techniques, including off line (HPAEC-MALDI-TOF-MS) or online (CE-ESI-MS(n), RP-HPLC-ESI-MS(n)) connection provided complementary information on xyloglucan structure. Online CE-MS and RP-HPLC-MS are described for the first time in xyloglucan analysis. Advantages and disadvantages of the techniques for different purposes such as structural characterisation of oligosaccharides or oligosaccharide profiling are discussed. Black currant xyloglucans had a rather simple XXXG-type structure with galactose and fucose containing side chains.  相似文献

String consistency conditions are stronger than anomaly cancellation and can require the addition of exotics in the visible sector. We study such exotics and demonstrate that they may account for the modest excess at 750 GeV in recent diphoton resonance searches performed by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations. In a previous analysis of type II MSSM D‐brane quivers we systematically added up to five exotics for the sake of satisfying string consistency conditions. Using this dataset, we demonstrate that 89780 of the 89964 quivers have exotics, 78155 of which include singlets that may couple to MSSM or exotic multiplets with coupling structures governed by U(1) symmetries that are often anomalous. We demonstrate that certain sets of exotics are far preferred over others and study the structure of singlet couplings to heavy exotics carrying standard model charges. Typical possibilities include singlets that may decay to vector‐like quarks and/or vector‐like leptons and subsequently to two photons. We show that a narrow width diphoton excess can be accounted for while evading existing bounds if multiple exotics are added, with vector‐like leptons of mass GeV and vector‐like quarks with masses up to ≃ 3 TeV. However, a large width , as suggested by the ATLAS data, cannot be easily accommodated in this framework. Renormalization group equations with GUT‐scale boundary conditions show that these supersymmetric models are perturbative and stable. Type IIA compactifications on toroidal orbifolds allow for O(10) Yukawa couplings in the ultraviolet. We also discuss the possibility of accounting for the diphoton excess in a low string scale scenario via the decay of string axions.  相似文献

Various plant polysaccharide derived mono- and oligosaccharides were derivatized with the fluorescent 9-aminopyrene-1,4,6-trisulfonate (APTS) and subjected to capillary electrophoresis (CE) in combination with laser induced fluorescence (LIF) detection. CE-LIF was suitable for mol-based quantification of various APTS-monosaccharides. CE-LIF of APTS-oligosaccharides showed high resolutions, while analysis times were at maximum 15 min. The coupling of CE to electrospray-iontrap mass spectrometery (MS) with online UV detection showed to be a powerful technique in the identification of APTS-oligosaccharides. For the first time, various APTS-xylo-oligosaccharides, having either no, O-acetyl, arabinosyl or xylosyl substitutions at varying positions, were identified by using CE-LIF and CE-MS(n).  相似文献

We studied the phase behavior of charged and sterically stabilized colloids using confocal microscopy in a low polarity solvent (dielectric constant 5.4). Upon increasing the colloid volume fraction we found a transition from a fluid to a body centered cubic crystal at 0.0415+/-0.0005, followed by reentrant melting at 0.1165+/-0.0015. A second crystal of different symmetry, random hexagonal close packed, was formed at a volume fraction around 0.5, similar to that of hard spheres. We attribute the intriguing phase behavior to the particle interactions that depend strongly on volume fraction, mainly due to the changes in the colloid charge. In this low polarity system the colloids acquire charge through ion adsorption. The low ionic strength leads to fewer ions per colloid at elevated volume fractions and consequently a density-dependent colloid charge.  相似文献
