A three-dimensional common-path interferometer is proposed, which can achromatically null out an on-axis source while it maintains the detectability of an off-axis source. A geometric phase in the three-dimensional interferometer introduces an achromatic pi-phase shift to the light from the on-axis source, such that destructive interference nulls out the axial light at one of the ports of the interferometer. Light from the off-axis source, which is exempt from the pi-phase shift, comes out from both ports with equal intensity. The common-path scheme makes the system highly immune to environmental disturbances. 相似文献

Importance of elastic deformation control to obtain large output force with a surface acoustic wave (SAW) motor is discussed in this paper. By adding pre-load to slider, stator and slider surfaces are deformed in a few tens nanometer. Appropriate deformation in normal direction against normal vibration displacement amplitude of SAW existed. By moderate deformation, the output force of the SAW motor was enlarged up to about 10 N and no-load speed was 0.7 m/s. To produce this performance, the transducer weight and slider size were only 4.2 g and 4 x 4 mm(2).By traveling wave propagation, surface particles of the SAW device move in elliptical motion. Due to the amplitude of the elliptical motion is 10 or 20 nm order, the contact condition of the slider is very critical. To control the contact condition, namely, the elastic deformation of the slider and stator surface in nanometer order, a lot of projections were fabricated on the slider surface. The projection diameter was 20 micro m. In static condition, the elastic deformation and stress were evaluated with the FEM analysis. From this calculation and the simulation result, it is consider that the wave crest is distorted, hence the elasticity has influence on the friction drive condition.Elastic deformation of the stator surface beneath the projection from the initial position were evaluated. In 4 x 4 mm(2) square area, the sliders had from 1089 to 23,409 projections. Depression was independent to the contact pressure. However, the output force depended on the depression although the projection density were different. From the view point of the output power of the motor, the proper depression was independent to the projection density. Around 25 nm depression, the output force and output power were maximized. This depression value was almost same as the vibration displacement amplitude of the stator transducer. 相似文献

A method to design a corrugated optical waveguide filter by modulating the corrugation width profile is proposed. This method is based on combined applications of the Fourier transformation and the F-matrix formalism. The method achieves the spatial profile of the corrugation width required to design a filter with any specified spectral profile of the reflection coefficient. The idea of the technique is that the spatial variation of the effective refractive index can be transformed, with the help of the F-matrix formalism, to variation of the corrugation width while maintaining a constant amplitude of the refractive index variation. Theoretical Analysis of Super-Resolution Optical Disk Mastering Using a Photoreactive Dye Mask Layer
The super-resolution mastering of read-only optical disks using a photoreactive bleachable dye mask layer was theoretically analyzed. Equations have been derived which describe the photoreactions of the resist layer and mask layer. A numerical simulation based on these equations showed that the transmittance of the mask directly affects the quality of the formed pit shape. Highly efficient frequency conversions were conducted to obtain deep-ultraviolet single-mode coherent light by use of two-stage external cavities. A power of 154 mW at approximately 252 nm was obtained with a conversion efficiency of more than 8% by doubly resonant sum-frequency mixing of 373-nm light from the first-stage conversion and 780-nm light from a single-mode Ti:sapphire laser. The output performance of the deep-ultraviolet light source is sufficient for use in the laser cooling of neutral silicon atoms. 相似文献

Fluorescent properties of 1,2,3,4-tetrachloro-11H-isoindolo-[2,1-a]-benzimidazol-11-one (TCIB) in various organic solutions are described. Detailed investigation of the fluorescence from the solutions revealed that it was ascribable to the electronic transition from the lowest singlet excited state of an isolated molecule to its ground state, though the fluorescence spectrum was broad and structureless and the Stokes’ shift was about 1 eV. The absorption peak of TCIB was relatively insensitive to change in solvent polarity, whereas its fluorescence peak shifted to the red with an increase in the polarity. This finding suggests that the dipole moment of the molecule in the ground state is almost zero, and that the excited state has a non-zero dipole moment, which coincides with the predicted semiempirical molecular orbital calculation. Fluorescence quantum efficiency decreased with increase of solvent polarity. The efficiency was reduced by a factor of 39 in going from n-hexane solution to acetonitrile solution. The radiative rate constant also decreased with increase of solvent polarity. However, its reduction was very moderate; the reduction factor was only 2.5 for acetonitrile solution as compared with n-hexane solution. This finding indicates that the emitting state of the title compound is influenced by a solvent-dependent non-radiative mechanism, for which solvent-sensitive intersystem-crossing deactivation is tentatively proposed. 相似文献

We employed epi-GaN substrates for ZnO film growth, and studied the deposition and post-annealing effects. ZnO films were
grown by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. The as-grown films were annealed for one hour under atmospheric pressure air.
ZnO morphologies after annealing were investigated and the post-annealed ZnO films grown at T
g
=700oC have very smooth surfaces and the rms with roughness is about 0.5 nm. Finally, ZnO post-annealed buffer layer was inserted
between ZnO epilayer and GaN/sapphire substrates. It is confirmed by AFM that growth temperature of 700oC helps the films grow in step-flow growth mode. It is observed by cathode luminescence spectrum that the ZnO film grown at
700oC has very low visible luminescence, indicating the decrease of the deep level defects. It is also revealed by Hall measurements
that carrier concentration is decreased by increasing the growth temperatures. It is suggested that low temperature buffer

Electronic states of P donors in Si nanocrystals (nc-Si) embedded in insulating glass matrices have been studied by electron spin resonance. Doping of P donors into nc-Si was demonstrated by the observation of optical absorption in the infrared region due to intraconduction band transitions. P hyperfine structure (hfs) was successfully observed at low temperatures. The observed splitting of the hfs was found to be much larger than that of the bulk Si:P and depended strongly on the size of nc-Si. The observed strong size dependence indicates that the enhancement of the hyperfine splitting is caused by the quantum confinement of P donors in nc-Si. 相似文献
