Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) composite membranes with surface properties designed by either a chemical modification with ethylenediamine (EDA), or layer‐by‐layer (LbL) polyelectrolyte adsorption were investigated in this paper. Fourier‐transformed infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and streaming potential measurements showed that the first step of the reaction with EDA in gas phase was the formation of ammonium salts with the reactive carboxylic groups present on the surface of the starting membrane. Part of the ammonium carboxylate groups was transformed in secondary amide linkages by a heat‐induced reaction. Poly(sodium styrenesulfonate) (NaPSS) and a polycation containing about 95 mol % of N,N‐dimethyl‐2‐hydroxypropyleneammonium chloride units in the backbone (PCA5) were used as opposite polyions in the LbL film construction. The adsorbed polyion amount per every layer was controlled by the nature and concentration of the supporting electrolyte in polyelectrolyte deposition solution (NaBr and KBr). An almost linear increase of the adsorbed polyion amount versus the layer pair number was observed. The swelling degree (SD) in pure alcohols of the LbL‐modified PAN composite membrane decreased with the increase of the solvent polarity and with the decrease of the pore volume by pore filling with polyelectrolyte complex multilayer. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We give a generalization of a known theorem from classical complex analysis, namely the univalence on the boundary theorem. We apply this result to obtain some univalence conditions for Sobolev mappings \(f\in C({\overline{D}},{\mathbb {R}}^n)\bigcap W_{loc}^{1,q}(D,{\mathbb {R}}^n)\) which are injective on \(\partial D\), in connection with a known result of Ball from (Proc R Soc Edinb Sect A 88(3–4):315–328, 1981) modeling nonlinear elasticity.  相似文献

The conceptual and practical issues regarding the reduction of the Haldane-Radi? enzymic mechanism, specific for cholinesterase kinetics, to the consecrated or logistically modified Michaelis-Menten kinetics, specific for some mutant enzymes, are here clarified as due to the limited initial substrate concentration, through detailed initial rate and progress curve analysis, even when other classical conditions for such equivalence are not entirely fulfilled.  相似文献

Silicone elastomer composites with piezoelectric properties, conferred by incorporated polyimide copolymers, with pressure sensors similar to human skin and kinetic energy harvester capabilities, were developed as thin film (<100 micron thick) layered architecture. They are based on polymer materials which can be produced in industrial amounts and are scalable for large areas (m2). The piezoelectric properties of the tested materials were determined using a dynamic mode of piezoelectric force microscopy. These composite materials bring together polydimethylsiloxane polymers with customized poly(siloxane-imide) copolymers (2–20 wt% relative to siloxanes), with siloxane segments inserted into the structure to ensure the compatibility of the components. The morphology of the materials as free-standing films was studied by SEM and AFM, revealing separated phases for higher polyimide concentration (10, 20 wt%). The composites show dielectric behavior with a low loss (<10−1) and a relative permittivity superior (3–4) to pure siloxane within a 0.1–106 Hz range. The composite in the form of a thin film can generate up to 750 mV under contact with a 30 g steel ball dropped from 10 cm high. This capability to convert a pressure signal into a direct current for the tested device has potential for applications in self-powered sensors and kinetic energy-harvesting applications. Furthermore, the materials preserve the known electromechanical properties of pure polysiloxane, with lateral strain actuation values of up to 6.2% at 28.9 V/μm.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with asymptotic and monotonicity properties of some parameter-dependent variational inequalities. The main part of the study deals with inequalities modelling friction problems with normal compliance or Tresca’s conditions in which the parameter stands for the friction coefficient. The corresponding inequalities are (generalizations) of variational inequalities of the second kind. We then study an inequality of the first kind representing the elastoplastic torsion problem where the parameter represents the plasticity yield.  相似文献

The aim of the study was to establish the complete microbiological profile of boar semen (Sus scrofa domesticus) and to choose the most effective antiseptic measures in order to control and optimize AI reproduction in pig farms. One hundred and one semen samples were collected and analyzed from several pig farms. The microbiological profile of ejaculates was determined by evaluating the degree of contamination of fresh semen and after dilution with specific extenders. The bacterial and fungal load of fresh boar semen recorded an average value of 82.41/0.149 × 103 CFU/mL, while after diluting the ejaculates the contamination value was 0.354/0.140 × 103 CFU/mL. Twenty-four germs (15 bacterial and 9 fungal species) were isolated, the most common being Candida parapsilosis/sake (92%) and Escherichia coli (81.2%). Modification of the sperm collection protocol (HPBC) reduced contamination in raw sperm by 49.85% in bacteria (significant (p < 0.00001) and by 9.67% in fungi (non-significant (p < 0.111491). The load in bacteria and filamentous fungi can be controllable, but not in levuras fungi. Some fluconazole-added extenders (12.5 mg%), ensure fungal aseptization, and even an increase in sperm progressivity (8.39%) for at least a 12 h shelf life after dilution. Validation of sperm aseptization was done by maintaining sow fecundity unchanged after AI (insignificant p > 0.05).  相似文献

Polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) dispersions were prepared by controlled mixing of three random copolymers of sodium 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonate (AMPS) with either t-butyl acrylamide (TBA) [P(AMPS54-co-TBA46) and P(AMPS37-co-TBA63)] or methyl methacrylate (MM) [P(AMPS52-co-MM48)] with an ionene-type polycation, containing 95 mol % N,N-dimethyl-2-hydroxypropyleneammonium chloride repeat units (PCA5), with their structural characteristics being deeply investigated by dynamic light scattering (DLS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Shape, size, and polydispersity of the PEC dispersions were directly observed by AFM as a function of polyanion structure, the ratio between charges, n-/n+, and the titrant addition rate (TAR). The particle sizes increased and the colloidal stability decreased with the increase of the nonionic comonomer content and with the decrease of TAR. It was demonstrated that the medium particle sizes of the complex nanoparticles adsorbed on silicon wafers measured by AFM, in the dry state, were close but always lower than those measured by DLS, both before and after the complex stoichiometry.  相似文献
