Three depth profiling techniques have been combined to optimize the buried p-(Zn)-layer for the monolithic integration of a photodiode (PD) and a field-effect transistor (FET) for optoelectronic application. The Zn diffusion behaviour during MOVPE (metal organic vapour phase epitaxy) growth has been investigated. To meet the requirements of a shallow and a wide Zn profile simultaneously in one substrate a procedure including SiNx masking, selective reactive ion etching (RIE) and substrate etching has been developed. We proceed to a systematic exploration of this phenomenon. The meaning of the word “most” is made rigorous
by isoperimetrictype inequalities that bound the measure of the exceptional sets. The meaning of the work “close” is defined
in three main ways, each of them giving rise to related, but different inequalities. The inequalities are all proved through
a common scheme of proof. Remarkably, this simple approach not only yields qualitatively optimal results, but, in many cases,
captures near optimal numerical constants. A large number of applications are given, in particular to Percolation, Geometric
Probability, Probability in Banach Spaces, to demonstrate in concrete situations the extremely wide range of application of

Information concerning the aggregation state of fine solid particles is an important element for process control and monitoring of product quality in many applications of industrial slurries. This work deals with the application of different in‐line methods to the characterization of silica aggregate size and morphology. All of these methods exploit turbidity signals, obtained by various means including: from analysis of turbidity fluctuations in homogeneous suspension and from overall turbidity decrease during particle settling. This work also presents the opportunity to report progress in morphological and optical models of small aggregates. As a result of these models, the morphological characteristics of the aggregates along with the number of their constituting particles are derived from experimental results. In this article we study graph-distance convergence of monotone operators. First, we prove a property that has been an open problem up to now: the limit of a sequence of graph-distance convergent maximal monotone operators in a Hilbert space is a maximal monotone operator. Next, we show that a sequence of maximal monotone operators converging in the same sense in a reflexive Banach space is uniformly locally bounded around any point from the interior of the domain of the limit mapping. The result is an extension of a similar one from finite dimensions. As an application we give a simplified condition for the stability (under graph-distance convergence) of the sum of maximal monotone mappings in Hilbert spaces.
