We report the first demonstration of cw wavelength conversion from the telecommunications band to the mid-IR (MIR) region via four-wave mixing in silicon nanowaveguides. We measure a parametric bandwidth of 748 nm by converting a 1636 nm signal to produce a 2384 nm idler and show continuously tunable wavelength conversion from 1792 to 2116 nm. This report indicates that the advantages of silicon photonics may be leveraged to create devices for a large range of MIR applications that require cw operation.  相似文献

The ground-state and finite-temperature behavior of the mixed spin-1 and spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on the diamond-like decorated Bethe lattice is investigated within the framework of two rigorous methods: the decoration-iteration transformation and exact recursion relations. The model under consideration describes a hybrid classical-quantum system consisting of the Ising and Heisenberg spins, which interact among themselves either through the Ising or XXZ Heisenberg nearest-neighbor interaction. Both sublattice magnetizations of the Ising and Heisenberg spins are exactly calculated with the aim to examine phase diagrams, thermal variations of the total and sublattice magnetizations. The finite-temperature phase diagrams form continuous (second-order) phase transition lines only, which exhibit a small reentrant region if the diamond-like decorated Bethe lattice with a sufficiently high coordination number is considered.  相似文献

In a series of experiments, 48Ca induced cold fusion reactions on Pb targets were employed to populate states in 253,254No isotopes. The groundstate band of 254No is identified up to spin 20+. The deduced quadrupole deformation is β=0.27(2). Evidence for decays from a rotational band built on a 7/2[624] configuration was obtained in 253No. The initial angular momentum and excitation energy of 253,254No residues, after neutron emission, was determined. States up to spin 22 ? and excitation energy of E *=8.5 MeV were observed. The data provide direct information on the fission barrier at high spins B f ≥5 MeV, and on the shell-correction energy E shell exp ≥4.1 MeV.  相似文献

The methods of growing YAG:Nd crystals with a flat interface and YAP:Nd crystals with a sharp conical interface are described. The form of the interface was controlled by the He and H2O content in the reducing atmosphere composed mainly of Ar and H2 as well as by axial temperature gradient above the melt level. The crystals of 120–180 mm in length were machined to the high-quality slabs.  相似文献

We use optical and scanning force microscopy to explore the possibility of switching the stability of a bilayer of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) on polystyrene by simply changing the film thickness. We show that for thin PMMA layers on thicker polystyrene films the PMMA layer is unstable to thickness fluctuations. However, polystyrene layers are unstable when they are substantially thinner than the now stable PMMA film. Dewetting morphologies are cataloged as a function of the thickness of individual polymer layers by identifying which layer is unstable by which mechanism, be it spinodal dewetting or heterogeneous thermal nucleation. Our results are in good agreement with a linear stability analysis of the influence of long-range dispersion forces, but also indicate the influence of film preparation and small variations of material properties.  相似文献

Partial ionization cross section experiments have been carried out recently at the University of Innsbruck for three types of hydrocarbons, i.e. acetylene, ethylene and propene. Cross section data fits are generated and compared to the compilation of earlier experimental data summarized in the online database HYDKIN [www.hydkin.de]. New data fits are brought into a suitable form to be incorporated into the database. In order to illuminate underlying dissociation mechanisms the energy dependence of branching ratios above energies of 20 –30 eV is reviewed in light of the present results (© 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Thin SiC x films were fabricated by hybrid laser–magnetron deposition system. KrF excimer laser was used for deposition of carbon and magnetron at the same time for sputtering of Si species. Films were fabricated in argon/hydrogen ambient with and without additional RF discharge. The substrate temperature was changed up to 700°C. Films topology, crystallinity, composition, chemical bonds and optical emission spectra were studied. Films were smooth and amorphous. Films of thickness 400–1000 nm were fabricated. Adhesion moved from 8 to 14 N, depending on deposition conditions.  相似文献

The vacuum decay in a de Sitter universe is studied for the class of effective inflaton potentials that curvature at the top is less than as well as greater than a critical value determined previously. By comparing the actions of the Hawking - Moss instanton and the Coleman - de Luccia instanton(s) the mode of vacuum decay is determined in this critical situation.  相似文献

For certain applications of galvanized steel protected with conversion coatings it is important that the surface is electrically conductive. This is especially important with mating surfaces for electromagnetic compatibility. This paper addresses electrical conductivity of chromate conversion coatings. A cross-matrix study using different zinc plating techniques by different labs showed that the main deciding factor is the type of zinc-plating bath used rather than the subsequent chromating process. Thus, chromated zinc plate electrodeposited from cyanide baths is non-conductive while that from alkaline (non-cyanide) and acid baths is conductive, even though the plate from all the bath types is conductive before conversion coating. The results correlate well with the microscopic structure of the surfaces as observed with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and could be further corroborated and rationalized using EDX and Auger spectroscopies.  相似文献

Complexations of R(+) and RS(+/?)aminoglutethimide (AGT), the drug used in a treatment of breast and prostate cancer with native and modified cyclodextrins (α‐CD, β‐CD, γ‐CD, 2,6‐di‐O‐methyl‐β‐CD (DM‐β‐CD), 2,3,6‐tri‐O‐methyl‐β‐CD (TM‐β‐CD) and carboxymethyl‐β‐CD (CM‐β‐CD)) were studied. The stability constants were determined with UV–Vis spectrophotometric method at pH 9.0. The NMR data obtained for TM‐β‐CD suggest that the complexation of AGT is possible from both sides of CD molecule. This was confirmed by molecular dynamic simulations.
