In this paper, the synthesis, structural and spectroscopic characterization of a series of new Ru(III)-nitrosyls of {RuNO}(6) type with the coligand TPA (tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine) are presented. The complex [Ru(TPA)Cl(2)(NO)]ClO(4) (2) was prepared from the Ru(III) precursor [Ru(TPA)Cl(2)]ClO(4) (1) by simple reaction with NO gas. This led to the surprising displacement of one of the pyridine (py) arms of TPA by NO (instead of the substitution of a chloride anion by NO), as confirmed by X-ray crystallography. NO complexes where TPA serves as a tetradentate ligand were obtained by reacting the new Ru(II) precursor [Ru(TPA)(NO(2))(2)] (3) with a strong acid. This leads to the dehydration of nitrite to NO(+), and the formation of the {RuNO}(6) complex [Ru(TPA)(ONO)(NO)](PF(6))(2) (4), which was also structurally characterized. Derivatives of 4 where nitrite is replaced by urea (5) or water (6) were also obtained. The nitrosyl complexes obtained this way were then further investigated using IR and FT-Raman spectroscopy. Complex 2 with the two anionic chloride coligands shows the lowest N-O and highest Ru-NO stretching frequencies of 1903 and 619 cm(-1) of all the complexes investigated here. Complexes 5 and 6 where TPA serves as a tetradentate ligand show ν(N-O) at higher energy, 1930 and 1917 cm(-1), respectively, and ν(Ru-NO) at lower energy, 577 and 579 cm(-1), respectively, compared to 2. These vibrational energies, as well as the inverse correlation of ν(N-O) and ν(Ru-NO) observed along this series of complexes, again support the Ru(II)-NO(+) type electronic structure previously proposed for {RuNO}(6) complexes. Finally, we investigated the photolability of the Ru-NO bond upon irradiation with UV light to determine the quantum yields (φ) for NO photorelease in complexes 2, 4, 5, and additional water-soluble complexes [Ru(H(2)edta)(Cl)(NO)] (7) and [Ru(Hedta)(NO)] (8). Although {RuNO}(6) complexes are frequently proposed as NO delivery agents in vivo, studies that investigate how φ is affected by the solvent water are lacking. Our results indicate that neutral water is not a solvent that promotes the photodissociation of NO, which would present a major obstacle to the goal of designing {RuNO}(6) complexes as photolabile NO delivery agents in vivo.  相似文献

Single-phase samples of REAgMg (RE=La, Ce, Eu, Yb) and EuAuMg were prepared by reacting the elements in sealed tantalum tubes in a high-frequency furnace. LaAgMg and CeAgMg adopt the hexagonal ZrNiAl-type structure, while EuAgMg, YbAgMg, and EuAuMg crystallize with the orthorhombic TiNiSi type. Chemical bonding was exemplarily investigatedfor EuAgMg and EuAuMg on the basis of TB-LMTO-ASAcalculations. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicatePauli paramagnetism for LaAgMg and YbAgMg with room-temperature susceptibilities of 2.4(1)×10−9 and 1.5(1)×10−9 m3/mol, respectively. CeAgMg remains paramagnetic down to 2 K. The experimental magnetic moment of 2.52(2) μB/Ce above 50 K is compatible with trivalent cerium. EuAgMg and EuAuMg are paramagnetic above 50 K with experimentalmagnetic moments of 7.99(5) μB/Eu for the silver and 7.80(5) μB/Eu for the gold compound, indicating divalent europium. Ferromagnetic ordering is detected at TC=22.0(3) K (EuAgMg) and TC=36.5(5) K (EuAuMg). At 4.2 K and 5 T the saturation magnetizations are 7.1(1) and 7.3(1) μB/Eu for EuAgMg and EuAuMg, respectively. According to the very small hysteresis, EuAgMg and EuAuMg may be classified as soft ferromagnets. All compounds are metallic conductors. For EuAgMg and EuAuMg freezing of spin-disorder scattering is observed below TC. At 78 K 151Eu Mössbauer spectra show isomer shifts of −9.00(4) and −8.72(8) mm/s for EuAgMg and EuAuMg, respectively. Full magnetic hyperfine field splitting is detected at 4.2 K with hyperfine fields of 17.4(1) and 18.3(2) T at the europium nuclei of EuAgMg and EuAuMg.  相似文献

The Bi2O3---V2O5 system was examined using Raman spectroscopy and solid state 51V wideline, magic-angle spinning (MAS), and nutation NMR spectroscopy. The methods are shown to be complementary in the identification of the various phases and in the characterization of their vanadium site symmetries. Most of the compositions examined (1:1 ≤ Bi:V ≤ 60:1) are multiphasic. Depending on the Bi:V ratio, the following phases have been identified: BiVO4, Bi4V2O11, a triclinic type-II phase, a cubic type-I phase, γ-Bi2O3 doped with V(V) (sillenite), and β-Bi2O3. Detailed spectroscopic characterization reveals that vanadium is tetrahedrally coordinated in all these compounds, and that the degree of symmetry increases with increasing Bi:V ratio. At the highest Bi:V ratios, the combined interpretation of the Raman and NMR data provides strong evidence for the presence of Bi5+O4 tetrahedra.  相似文献

The ternary antimonide YIrSb was synthesized from the binary precursor YIr and elemental antimony by a diffusion controlled solid‐state reaction. Single crystals were obtained by a flux technique with elemental bismuth as an inert solvent. The YIrSb structure (TiNiSi type, space group Pnma) was refined from single‐crystal X‐ray diffractometer data: a = 711.06(9), b = 447.74(5), c = 784.20(8) pm, wR2 = 0.0455, 535 F2 values, 20 variables. 89Y solid state MAS NMR and 121Sb Mössbauer spectra show single resonance lines in agreement with single‐crystal X‐ray data. YIrSb is a Pauli paramagnet.  相似文献

Two recent theories of pressure dependent impurity optical spectra are tested by constraining the configurational coordinate parameters using crystal field theory. It is found that the theory of Drickamer, Frank and Slichter is more consistent with crystal field behavior and with experimental evidence than that of Curie, Berry and Williams.  相似文献

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy offers an element-selective, inherently quantitative and experimentally very flexible approach for the structural elucidation of non-crystalline materials. The present review introduces the basic concepts of this technique, highlighting the use of advanced NMR methodology for characterizing short- and intermediate range order in bioactive glass systems. The current state of the literature in this field is summarized in a comprehensive manner. NMR can give clear-cut and quantitative answers about the extent of network polymerization, the spatial distribution of the network former and network modifier species, and the structural roles of Group III elements introduced into these networks. These results facilitate our understanding of the influence of bioglass compositions upon the dissolution kinetics and bioactivities of these glasses. A particular mission of this review is to highlight the utility of non-routine, more advanced experimentation, in the hope of their increased usage and circulation in future applications.

Covalent and reversible cluster molecules were synthesized by an A3B2 type gelation. Crosslinking of three-arm hydroxyl-terminated star polymers with 2,4-toluenediisocyanate gave branched polymers, while the reversible analogue was made by crosslinking of tertiary amine-terminated star polymers with bis(4-hydroxy-3,5-dinitrophenyl) adipate. Gelation process was followed by static and dynamic light scattering. The extent of reacted groups was measured with UV spectroscopy. Growth of the covalent clusters could be described in terms of percolation scaling laws. The experimental gel point (POH, cr = 0.70) was shifted significantly from the theoretical predicted gel point (POH, cr = 0.50), indicating extensive ring formation during the gelation. The reversible endlinking reaction gave no macroscopic gelation, though increase of the cluster dimensions was observed. Ring formation proved to be an important side reaction in both cases; however, the ring formation ability seems to change in a different manner during the course of a gelation.  相似文献

For the first time, we demonstrate here functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) using intermolecular multiple-quantum coherences (iMQCs). iMQCs are normally not observed in liquid-state NMR because dipolar interactions between spins average to zero. If the magnetic isotropy of the sample is broken through the use of magnetic field gradients, dipolar couplings can reappear, and hence iMQCs can be observed. Conventional (BOLD) fMRI measures susceptibility variations averaged over each voxel. In the experiment performed here, the sensitivity of iMQCs to frequency variations over mesoscopic and well-defined distances is exploited. We show that iMQC contrast is qualitatively and quantitatively different from BOLD contrast in a visual stimulation task. While the number of activated pixels is smaller in iMQC contrast, the intensity change in some pixels exceeds that of BOLD contrast severalfold.  相似文献
