Measurements have been carried out of the specific heat of an Fe0.49 Rh0.51 alloy over the temperature range 100–500 K. The entropy change at the antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic phase transition is found to be 13±1 J kg-1 K-1. The measurements are found to be consistent with previously developed theory.  相似文献

Let be an untwisted affine Kac–Moody algebra and MJ() a Verma-type module for with J-highest weight P. We construct quantum Verma-type modules MJq() over the quantum group , investigate their properties and show that MJq() is a true quantum deformation of MJ() in the sense that the weight structure is preserved under the deformation. Surfactant adsorption has been shown to have a passivating effect on the electrode surface during anodic stripping voltammetric measurements. In the present work the feasibility of sono-anodic stripping analysis for the determination of copper in aqueous media contaminated with surfactant has been studied at an unmodified bare glassy carbon electrode. We illustrate the deleterious effect of three common surfactants, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), dodecyl pyridinium chloride (DPC) and Triton-X 100 (TX-100) on conventional electroanalysis. The analogous sono-electroanalytical response was investigated for each surfactant at ultrasound intensities above and below the cavitation threshold. The enhancement in the stripping signal observed is attributed to the increased mass transport due to acoustic streaming and above the cavitation threshold the intensity of cavitational events is significantly increased leading to shearing of adsorbed surfactant molecules from the surface. As a result accurate analyses for SDS concentrations up to 100 ppm are possible, with analytical signals visible in solutions of SDS and TX-100 of 1000 ppm. Analysis is reported in high concentration of surfactant with use of sono-solvent double extraction. The power of this technique is clearly illustrated by the ability to obtain accurate measurements of copper concentration from starting solutions containing 1000 ppm SDS or TX-100. This was also exemplified by analysis of the low concentration 0.3 microM Cu(II) solution giving a percentage recovery of 94% in the presence of 1000 ppm SDS or TX-100.  相似文献

In this article, we have considered the role of the chair in leading the learning necessary for a department to become effective in the teaching and learning of science from a reformed perspective. We conceptualize the phrase “leading learning” to mean the chair's constitution of influence, power, and authority to intentionally impact the conceptual, pedagogical, cultural, and political aspects of teachers’ work. The data for this article are based on our ongoing work with one science department, over the past nine years, and have been woven into a longitudinal narrative study of a chair who has led the learning of an effective department since 2000. In considering the data, we can reach two major conclusions. First, for a chair to lead learning is to build a professional commitment to a vision of science education, not a particular program. Second, in leading learning, chairs afford opportunities for teacher empowerment. This affordance, however, is only half the issue. It is commitment to a vision that drives a desire to take advantage of opportunities as they arise. In leading learning that reflects changes in the broader science education community, learning opportunities are opened beyond the department.  相似文献

The A2Π–X2Σ+ transition of 174Yb35Cl and 172Yb35Cl has been rotationally analyzed for the first time. Doppler-limited laser excitation spectroscopy with selective detection of fluorescence was used to obtain spectra of the 0–0 and 1–0 bands with a measurement accuracy of approximately 0.0035 cm−1. Resolved fluorescence was used to record the 0–1, 0–2, and 0–3 bands and to unequivocally assign the rotational numbering, N, to the laser excitation spectra. In total, over 1300 line positions have been measured and assigned for each of the two isotopomers and employed in least-squares fits of molecular parameters. The principal results for the A2Π state are Ae = 1491.494(2) cm−1 and Re = 2.4433(1) Å, and for the X2Σ+ state, Re = 2.4883(2) Å and γe = 4.59(2) × 10−3 cm−1. The interaction between the X2Σ+ and A2Π states has been investigated and is shown to be the main contributor to the spin–rotation splitting in the ground state.  相似文献

A simple method to generate an effective electron-ion interaction pseudopotential from the energy wave number characteristic obtained by first principles calculations has been suggested. This effective potential has been used, in third order perturbation, to study the effect of three-body forces on the lattice dynamics of noble metals. It is found that three-body forces, in these metals, do play an important role. The inclusion of such three-body forces appreciably improves the agreement between the experimental and theoretical phonon dispersion curves.  相似文献
