Phosphorescence lifetimes have been measured at 77 K for 10?3 M glassy solutions of seven monohalogen ring-substituted phenylacetylenes. The lifetimes decrease markedly with increasing mass of halogen, and the effect is greatest for the para position ??dν values for S1 ← S0 and S2 ← S0 absorptions are not very sensitive to heavy-atom perturbation.

A simple and rapid method is proposed for the separation of tervalent gallium, indium and thallium by solvent extraction with N-benzylaniline in chloroform from different concentrations of hydrochloric acid. Thallium and gallium are extracted from 1M and 7.0-7.5M hydrochloric acid respectively. Indium is finally extracted from hydriodic acid. These metals in the final extracts are determined complexometrically. Interference from some cations can easily be eliminated by reduction with sulphite, followed by selective oxidation of thallium(I) to thallium(III) with saturated bromine water, and from others by the use of thioglycollic acid as a masking agent in the extraction of gallium and indium. Most common anions cause no interference. Log-log plots of distribution coefficients vs. concentration of amine for gallium, indium and thallium indicate a 2:1 limiting mole ratio of amine to these metals.  相似文献

Chloramine-B has been used as an oxidizing agent in hydrochloric acid medium for the indirect volumetric estimations of hydrogen peroxide, lead dioxide, manganese dioxide, selenium dioxide, sodium formate, sodium sulphide, sodium metavanadate, potassium iodate and copper sulphate using iodine monochloride as a catalyst and pre-oxidiser. Chloroform is used as an indicator. It is coloured pink owing to the liberation of iodine during the titration and becomes light pale yellow at the end-point because of the formation of iodine monochloride.  相似文献

Chloramine-B has been used as an oxidising agent to determine indirectly potassium iodate, potassium metaperiodate, potassium, bromate, potassium dichromate, hydrogen peroxide, chloramine-T and potassium permanganate by a potentiometric method. An excess of potassium iodide added to each of the substances in an acid medium is titrated back with a standard solution of chloramine-B, using platinum foil as an oxidation-reduction electrode coupled with a saturated calomel electrode through an agar-agar potassium chloride bridge.  相似文献

Chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride) (CPVC) is known to have a higher softening temperature than conventional poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC). Its processability characteristics are, however, different; it has been reported that CPVC is more difficult to process. However, only limited information on the processability characteristics is available. This paper describes some studies of the flow behavior of CPVC melts in a capillary rheometer. The true melt viscosity and activation energy were determined between 190° and 210°C for a number of samples, and they appear to be related to the cohesive energy density of the samples. It was observed that melt fracture, i.e., gross distortion of the extrudate, occurs even at low shear rates in samples having a high chlorine content. This has been attributed to the relatively high pressures that have to be used, the pronounced non-Newtonian nature of the melt, and melt elasticity. It is postulated that melt elasticity could result from crosslinking at the site of the double bond which is known to be formed by dehydrochlorination.  相似文献

Signs of the dipole moment derivatives, ?px/?S4 and ?px/?S5 where px is the dipole moment vector along an axis perpendicular to the CO bond in the plane of the molecule and Sj are the symmetry coordinates for the B1 vibrations of Br2CO have been re-evaluated from the reported ?p/?Qi values (p being the dipole moment of the molecule and Qi the normal coordinates) and the L matrix elements. Excited state formation by ion recombination in solutions of fluorene in squalene has been studied by pulse radiolysis at the center of a large electromagnet. The products of the slower part of the ion recombination are affected by an applied magnetic field.
