Optical shadow-casting (OSC) technique has shown excellent potential for optically implementing two-operand parallel logic gates and array logic operations. The 16 logic functions for two binary patterns (variables) are optically realizable in parallel by properly configuring an array of 2×2 light emitting diodes. In this paper, we propose an enhanced OSC technique for implementing four-operand parallel logic gates. The proposed system is capable of performing 216 logic functions by simply programming the switching mode of an array of 4×4 light emitting diodes in the input plane. This leads to an efficient and compact realization scheme when compared to the conventional two-operand OSC system. 相似文献

The inhibition efficiency of 2-aminoethanethiol (2-AEE) has been investigated against steel corrosion in 0.1 M HCl solution. The effect of temperature, pH, and concentration were studied with the help of potentiodynamic measurement, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and atomic absorption spectroscopy techniques. The potential of zero charge (Epzc) studies showed that the adsorption occurs via ?SH group; the metal surface is positively charged in corrosive test solution. The adsorptive interaction is evaluated, and best correlation was obtained with Langmuir isotherm. 2-AEE was shown to have significant inhibition efficiency against steel corrosion. The response surface methodology was employed to explain the relation between pH, inhibitor concentration, and the efficiency. The regression analysis was realized for development of an equation between independent variables and the output. The success of fitting model was tested with basic statistical arguments, residual and variance analysis, T and F tests, and R 2 value. The statistical evaluations showed that the obtained polynomial equation can be successfully used for optimization of applications involving the use of 2-AEE as inhibitor. 相似文献

We consider the arrival time distribution defined through the quantum probability current for a Gaussian wave packet representing
free particles in quantum mechanics in order to explore the issue of the classical limit of arrival time. We formulate the
classical analogue of the arrival time distribution for an ensemble of free particles represented by a phase space distribution
function evolving under the classical Liouville's equation. The classical probability current so constructed matches with
the quantum probability current in the limit of minimum uncertainty. Further, it is possible to show in general that smooth
transitions from the quantum mechanical probability current and the mean arrival time to their respective classical values

We investigate, both experimentally and theoretically, current and capacitance (I–V/C–V) characteristics and the device performance
of Si/SiO2/Si single-barrier varactor diodes (SBVs). Two diodes were fabricated with different SiO2 layer thicknesses using the state-of-the-art wafer bonding technique. The devices have very low leakage currents (about 5×10-2 and 1.8×10-2 mA/mm2) and intrinsic capacitance levels of typically 1.5 and 50 nF/mm2 for diodes with 5-nm and 20-nm oxide layers, respectively. With the present device physical parameters (25-mm2 device area, 760-μm modulation layer thickness and ≈1015-cm-3 doping level), the estimated cut-off frequency is about 5×107 Hz. With the physical parameters of the present existing III–V triplers, the cut-off frequency of our Si-based SBV can be
as high as 0.5 THz.

In this paper, we propose a highly nonlinear dispersion flattened hexagonal photonic crystal fiber (HNDF-HPCF) with nonlinear
coefficients as large as 57.5W−1 km−1 at 1.31 μm wavelength for dental optical coherence tomography (OCT) applications. This HNDF-HPCF offers not only large nonlinear
coefficient but also very flat dispersion slope and very low confinement losses. Using these characteristics of our proposed
PCF, it is shown through simulations by using finite difference method with an anisotropic perfectly matched boundary layer
that this PCF offers the efficient supercontinuum (SC) generation for dental OCT applications at 1.31 μm wavelength using
a picosecond pulse easily produced by commercially available less expensive laser sources. Coherent length of light source
using SC is found 10 μm and the spatial resolutions in the depth direction for dental applications of OCT are found about
6.1 μm for enamel and 6.5 μm for dentin. 相似文献
