Recently, with the advent of supercomputers, there has been considerable interest in the use of direct numerical simulation to obtain information about turbulent shear flow at low Reynolds number. This paper presents a pseudospectral technique to solve the full three-dimensional time-dependent Navier-Stokes and advection-diffusion equations without the use of subgrid-scale modelling. The technique has not been previously used for fully developed turbulent channel flow simulation and is based on methods applied in other contexts. The emphasis of this paper is to provide a reasonably detailed account of how the simulation is done rather than to present new calculations of turbulence. The details of an algorithm for turbulent channel flow simulation and the grid and time step sizes needed to integrate through transient behaviour to steady state turbulence have not been published before and are presented here. Results from a Cray-2 simulation of fully developed turbulent flow in a channel with heat transfer are presented along with a critical comparison between experiment and computation. The first- and second-order moments agree well with experimental measurements; the agreement is poor for higher-order moments such as the skewness and flatness near the walls of the channel. Detailed information given about the effects of spatial grid resolution on a computed results is important for estimating the size of the computation required to study various aspects of a turbulent flow. 相似文献

[reaction: see text] A mild and transition-metal-free method for the alpha-arylation of aliphatic nitriles with activated heteroaryl halides was developed using NaHMDS or KHMDS as base at ambient temperature. The key to the success of this method is generation of the nitrile anion in the presence of the heteroaryl halide. The method is applicable to both primary and secondary carbonitriles and a wide range of heteroaryl halides. Selective monoarylation was observed with primary carbonitriles. The operational simplicity and the mild reaction conditions add to the value of this method as a practical alternative to the preparation of alpha-heteroaryl carbonitriles. 相似文献

Thin film technology takes more and more importance in the development of biomedical devices dedicated to functional neurostimulation. Our research about the design of implant neurostimulating electrode is oriented toward thin film cuff electrodes based on a polyimide substrate covered by a chromium/gold/Pt film. The chromium/gold sputtered film serves as adhesion layer and current collector whereas platinum acts as an electrochemical actuator. The electrode surface has been designed to obey safe stimulation criteria (i.e. chemically inert noble metal, low electrode-electrolyte impedance, high electrochemical reversibility, high corrosion stability). The electrochemical behaviour of such platinum electrodes has been assessed and compared to a foil of platinum. Extensive in vitro characterisations of the both electrode types were carried out using AFM, SEM and electrochemical techniques. The role of enhanced surface roughness enabling high double layer capacitances to be achieved was clearly highlighted. The obtained results are discussed, with particular reference to thin film electrodes stability under in vitro electrical stimulation in NaCl 0.9% (physiological serum). Therefore, these thin film devices showed reversible PtOH formation and decomposition making them potentially attractive for the fabrication of implant stimulation cuff electrodes. 相似文献

The iron chelating ability of hydroxamic acid polymers was studied as a function of the atomic chain spacing separating neighboring hydroxamic acid units. Two polymers were prepared, one having the hydroxamic acid group separated by 11 atoms and the other by three atoms. The iron binding of these polymers was compared with the model compound desferrioxamine B (DFO) and with a previously prepared polymer having a nine-atom spacing. Mole ratio plots indicated the following order of stability: DFO ≈ 11 atom > 9 atom > 3 atom. These results are in accordance with the picture derived from molecular models which shows that with a spacing of 11 atoms, three neighboring hydroxamic acids can fit the octahedral arrangement of the iron (III) complex without appreciable strain. Some strain is introduced when the spacing becomes only nine atoms, and with three atoms, complex formation between three neighboring groups becomes virtually impossible. 相似文献

Ab initio calculations including electron correlation are reported for the water and methylene molecules as a function of geometry. A large contracted gaussian basis set is used and the multiconfiguration wave functions, optimized by the iterative natural orbital procedure, include 277 and 617 configurations for H2O and CH2 respectively. The method of selecting configurations, yielding first-order wave functions, is discussed in some detail. For H2O, the SCF geometry is r=0,942 Å, =105,8°, the correlated result is r=0,968 Å, =103,2°, and the experimental r=0,957 Å, =104,5°. The water stretching force constants, in millidynes/Å, are 8,72 (SCF), 8,75 (CI), and 8,4 (experiment). Bending force constants are 0,88 (SCF), 0,83 (CI), and 0,76 (experiment). For methylene the SCF geometry is r=1,072 Å, =129,5°, while the result from first-order wave functions is r=1,088 Å, =134°. The predicted CH2 force constants are 6,16 (SCF) and 6,13 (CI) for stretching and 0,44 (SCF) and 0,33 (CI) for bending.

Dazu benutzt man einen großen kontrahierten Gauß-Basissatz. Die Multikonfigurationswellenfunktionen, die unter Benutzung von natürlichen Orbitalen nach der iterativen Prozedur optimiert werden, enthalten für H2O 277 Konfigurationen und für CH2 617. Die Auswahlmethode, die zu Wellenfunktionen 1. Ordnung führt, wird diskutiert. Im Falle des Wassers erhält man die SCF-Geometrie zu r=0,942 Å, =105,8°, das korrelierte Resultat ist: r=0,968 Å, =103,2° und das experimentelle r=0,957 Å, =104,5°. Für Wasser ergeben sich die Valenzkraftkonstanten (in Millidyn Å–1) 8,72 (SCF), 8,75 (CI) und 8,4 (Experiment). Die Deformationskonstanten sind 0,88 (SCF), 0,83 (CI) und 0,76 (Experiment).
