A new fluorescent first generation poly(propylene amine) dendrimer (PPI), peripherally modified with 4(butylamino-substituted-1,8-naphthalimide), has been synthesized and characterized. Its photophysical characteristics in organic solvents of different polarities were studied, and the influence of sodium hydroxide on its spectral characteristics in N,N-dimethylformamide is discussed. The complexes formed between the dendrimer and metal cations in solution have been studied with regard to the potential applications of the new dendrimer as a colorimetric and fluorescent sensor for metal ions. The fluorescence intensity of the dendrimer in the presence of metal cations (Zn2+, Co2+, Pb2+, Mn2+, Cu2+ and Fe3+) increases substantially revealing its sensor potential. 相似文献
The very early stages of gas‐phase ethylene polymerization on an SiO2‐supported Ziegler–Natta catalyst were studied with the help of a short‐stop reactor. The short‐stop‐reactor‐based technique was useful in studying nascent polymerization, providing insights at very short, controlled times into important phenomena regarding catalyst fragmentation and the activation and deactivation of catalyst sites that take place during the very early stages of the reaction. Experimental results indicate that the growth of the polymer chains occurs at unsteady conditions during the initial stages of the polymerization. Hydrogen has a strong influence on the initial kinetics, leading to a significant decrease of polymerization activity. Polymer crystallinity increases with the reaction time, probably due to the formation of long chains with a high degree of crystallinity.
We demonstrate that the three-dimensional (3D) binary monoclinic oxides HfO2 and ZrO2 exhibit quasi-2D polaron localization and conductivity, which results from a small difference in the coordination of two oxygen sublattices in these materials. The transition between a 2D large polaron into a zero-dimensional small polaron state requires overcoming a small energetic barrier. These results demonstrate how a small asymmetry in the lattice structure can determine the qualitative character of polaron localization and significantly broaden the realm of quasi-2D polaron systems. 相似文献
We demonstrate a new high-order harmonic generation mechanism reaching the "water window" spectral region in experiments with multiterawatt femtosecond lasers irradiating gas jets. A few hundred harmonic orders are resolved, giving μJ/sr pulses. Harmonics are collectively emitted by an oscillating electron spike formed at the joint of the boundaries of a cavity and bow wave created by a relativistically self-focusing laser in underdense plasma. The spike sharpness and stability are explained by catastrophe theory. The mechanism is corroborated by particle-in-cell simulations. 相似文献
This work investigates the feasibility of implementing conductivity measurements for the purpose of the on-line monitoring of particle generation by following the evolution of free surfactant concentration during SDS/styrene emulsion polymerisations. The conductivity and temperature were measured on-line during the reactant addition and reaction stages of a number of batch emulsion polymerisations. Samples were collected for off-line analysis of particle size and conversion. Observation of the evolution of the conductivity enabled us to measure the effect of surfactant and monomer addition. The maximum size of the monomer droplets was calculated from the decrease in conductivity that represented the adsorption of surfactant molecules onto the droplet surface. The division of SDS between the particle interface and the aqueous phase was also determined giving an indication of the particle stability. 相似文献
