We present a noiseless optical amplifier comprising a signal-amplifying feed-forward loop and a power-amplifying injection-locked laser. We demonstrate that the signal amplifier can attain a signal-transfer coefficient limited solely by the quantum efficiency of our in-loop photodetector and that we can independently amplify the optical power while leaving the normalized intensity-noise spectral density of the input field unchanged. 相似文献

We have measured spin correlation parameters that describe the elastic scattering of 800 MeV polarized protons from an L-type polarized deuteron target at laboratory angles below 20°. The measured parameters include the correlated analyzing powers ASL, ALL and ANLL and the proton spin-transfer coefficients C0L,S, C0L,L, CSL,N, CNL,S, CNL,L and CLL,N. The results are compared with single-scattering predictions based on different phase-shift solutions for the nucleon-nucleon scattering matrix. 相似文献

This work incorporates a review of the status, in Australia, of data analysis for gravitational wave detection using laser interferometers, within an overview of the present state of such research in the world generally. In this context, data analysis refers not so much to signal simulation as to what might be called the thorough process of noise characterization and the subsequent, quality-controlled signal extraction. To the extent that problems identified here arise for all currently planned instruments, there is necessarily a global component to the discussion presented. We demonstrate a fiber Fabry-Perot (FFP) sensor that is capable of detecting subpicostrain signals, from 100 Hz and extending beyond 100 kHz, using the Pound-Drever-Hall (PDH) frequency locking technique. A low-power diode laser at 1550 nm is locked to a free-space reference cavity to suppress its free-running frequency noise, thereby stabilizing the laser. The stabilized laser is then used to interrogate a FFP sensor whose PDH error signal yields the instantaneous fiber strain. 相似文献
