Experimental and theoretical insights into the nature of intermolecular interactions and their effect on optical properties of 1-allyl-4-(1-cyano-2-(4-dialkylaminophenyl)vinyl)pyridin-1-ium bromide salts ( I and II ) are reported. A comparison of optical properties in solution and in the solid-state of the salts ( I and II ) with their precursors ( Ia and IIa ) is made. The experimental absorption maxima (λmax) in CHCl3 is at 528 nm for I and at 542 nm for II , and a strong bathochromic shift of ∼110 nm is observed for salts I and II compared with their precursors. The absorption bands in solid-state at ∼627 nm for I and at ∼615 nm for II that are assigned to charge transfer (CT) effect. The optical properties and single crystal structural features of I and II are explored by experimental and computational tools. The calculated λmax and the CT are in good agreement with the experimental results. The intermolecular interactions existing in the crystal structures and their energies are quantified for various dimers by PIXEL, QTAIM and DFT approaches. Three types of interactions, (i) the cation⋅⋅⋅cation interactions, (ii) cation⋅⋅⋅anion interactions and (iii) anion⋅⋅⋅anion interactions are observed. The cationic moiety is mainly destabilized by C−H⋅⋅⋅N/π and π⋅⋅⋅π interactions whereas the cation and anion moiety is predominantly stabilized by strong C−H⋅⋅⋅Br− interactions in both structures. The existence of charge transfer between cation and anion moieties in these structures is established through NBO analysis. 相似文献

A high performance liquid chromatography procedure, based on porous graphitic carbon stationary phase, was evaluated for simultaneous on-line preconcentration and separation of organic and inorganic selenium species. Detection was achieved by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry with collision/reaction cell (ICP-CRC-MS). Different concentrations of formic acid were tested as mobile phase. A 240 mmol L(-1) concentration with pH adjusted to 2.6, allowed the separation of five species, i.e. selenite, selenate, selenomethionine, selenocystine and selenoethionine. On-line preconcentration of these five species was achieved when heptafluorobutyric acid was used as injection medium, inducing an enrichment of solutes at the top of the column which allowed large volumes (up to 1 mL) to be injected. Combining these injection conditions and 80Se monitoring with ICP-CRC-MS, detection limits between 2 and 8 ng (Se)L(-1), depending on the species, were obtained. NMR-based metabolite profiling of urine is a fast and reproducible method for detection of numerous metabolites with diverse chemical properties. However, signal overlap in the (1)H NMR profiles of human urine may hamper quantification and identification of metabolites. Therefore, a new method has been developed using automated solid-phase extraction (SPE) combined with NMR metabolite profiling. SPE-NMR of urine resulted in three fractions with complementary and reproducible sub-profiles. The sub-profile from the wash fraction (100?% water) contained polar metabolites; that from the first eluted fraction (10?% methanol-90?% water) semi-polar metabolites; and that from the second eluted fraction (100?% methanol) aromatic metabolites. The method was validated by analysis of urine samples collected from a crossover human nutritional intervention trial in which healthy volunteers consumed capsules containing a polyphenol-rich mixture of red wine and grape juice extract (WGM), the same polyphenol mixture dissolved in a soy drink (WGM_Soy), or a placebo (PLA), over a period of five days. Consumption of WGM clearly increased urinary excretion of 4-hydroxyhippuric acid, hippuric acid, 3-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, homovanillic acid, and 3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-3-hydroxypropionic acid. However, there was no difference between the excreted amounts of these metabolites after consumption of WGM or WGM_Soy, indicating that the soy drink is a suitable carrier for WGM polyphenols. Interestingly, WGM_Soy induced a significant increase in excretion of cis-aconitate compared with WGM and PLA, suggesting a higher demand on the tricarboxylic acid cycle. In conclusion, SPE-NMR metabolite sub-profiling is a reliable and improved method for quantification and identification of metabolites in urine to discover dietary effects and markers of phytochemical exposure. 相似文献

The non-heme iron enzyme cysteine dioxygenase (CDO) catalyzes the S-oxygenation of cysteine by O(2) to give cysteine sulfinic acid. The synthesis of a new structural and functional model of the cysteine-bound CDO active site, [Fe(II)(N3PyS)(CH(3)CN)]BF(4) (1) is reported. This complex was prepared with a new facially chelating 4N/1S(thiolate) pentadentate ligand. The reaction of 1 with O(2) resulted in oxygenation of the thiolate donor to afford the doubly oxygenated sulfinate product [Fe(II)(N3PySO(2))(NCS)] (2), which was crystallographically characterized. The thiolate donor provided by the new N3PyS ligand has a dramatic influence on the redox potential and O(2) reactivity of this Fe(II) model complex. 相似文献

The debate is still ongoing on the optimal mode of interrogation for surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors. Comparative studies previously demonstrated that nanoparticles exhibiting a localized SPR (LSPR) have superior sensitivity to molecular adsorption processes while thin Au film-based propagating SPR is more sensitive to bulk refractive index. In this paper, it is demonstrated that nanohole arrays (1000 nm periodicity, 600 nm diameter and 125 nm depth), which support both LSPR and propagating SPR modes, exhibited superior sensitivity to bulk refractive index and improved detection limits for IgG sensing by using the Kretschmann configuration. The greater sensitivity to IgG detection in the Kretschmann configuration was obtained despite the shorter penetration depth of nanohole arrays excited in the enhanced optical transmission (EOT) configuration. The decay length of the electromagnetic field in EOT mode was estimated to be approximately 140 nm using a layer-by-layer deposition technique of polyelectrolytes (PAH and PSS) and was confirmed with 3D FDTD simulations, which was lengthen by almost a factor of two in the Kretschmann configuration. Spectroscopic data and field depth were correlated with RCWA and FDTD simulations, which were in good agreement with the experimental results. Considering these analytical parameters, it is advantageous to develop sensors based on nanohole arrays in the Kretschmann configuration of SPR. 相似文献

Various operating conditions have been applied on tetrakis[p‐(halogenomethyl)]‐ and tetrakis[p‐(aminomethyl)]calix[4]arene derivatives to improve the synthesis of the 5,11,17,23‐tetrakis[(diethylphosphono)methyl]‐25,26,27,28‐tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene. Two new, high yield, synthetic pathways have been selected, involving, for the first one, the 25,26,27,28‐tetrahydroxy‐5,11,17,23‐tetrakis[(trimethylamino)methyl]calix[4]arene, tetraiodide, DMF, and 10 equiv. of triethyl phosphite ((EtO)3P), and, for the other one, the 5,11,17,23‐tetra(bromomethyl)‐25,26,27,28‐tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene, CH2Cl2, and only 4 equiv. of (EtO)2P. 相似文献

The electronic structure of finite and infinite linear, cyclic and M?bius strip polyacenes has been investigated by adopting
Hückel and semiempirical schemes. Using the Hückel approach, it turns out that the M?bius belting process modifies the highest
occupied molecular orbital (HOMO)–lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) gap in such a way its evolution with chain length
is similar to the linear polyacenes rather than their cyclic analogs. These results are corroborated at the Austin model 1
(AM1) level, where the geometry relaxation effects are taken into account. The optimized AM1 structures show that the M?bius
defect is localized and extends over a third of the ring. With respect to the Hückel approach, accounting for geometry distortion
at the AM1 levels results in an increase in the HOMO–LUMO gap of the M?bius strip relative to the linear and cyclic finite-size
structures. On the other hand, when including electron-hole correlation at the configuration interaction singles/Zerner's
intermediate neglect of differential overlap level the behavior with system size of the first excitation energy of cyclic
and M?bius polyacenes differs from their linear analogs and leads to smaller singlet excitation energies.
