Angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) has been
used to investigate the shadow bands present at the Fermi surface of
bismuth based superconductors. Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ
(Bi2212) single crystals with different doping levels and
Bi2Sr2CuO6+δ (Bi2201) thin films have been studied
by means of momentum distribution curves along the ΓY high
symmetry direction in two different Brillouin zones and for an
extensive photon energy range. The results show an enhancement of
the shadow band intensity in the second Brillouin zone for photon
energies around hν=30 eV. Furthermore, the ratio Shadow
Bands/Main Band is shown to be constant as a function of both the
doping level and the number of CuO2 planes. An interpretation of
this observation on the basis of the current theoretical models will

We demonstrate coherence resonance in a dynamical system without external noise. The experimental evidence is reported in the low frequency fluctuations of a chaotic diode laser with optical feedback. The phenomenon is also verified numerically using the Lang-Kobayashi equations for a single solitary mode laser, without noise terms. Fast deterministic dynamics plays the role of an effective exciting noise, narrowing the resonance in the autonomous slow power drop cycles of the laser. This new result is the natural extension of deterministic stochastic resonance and noise induced coherence resonance predicted and observed in recent years. 相似文献

A search for pair production of doubly charged Higgs bosons in the process pp -->H(++)H(--) -->mu(+)mu(+)mu(-)mu(-) is performed with the D0 run II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The analysis is based on a sample of inclusive dimuon data collected at an energy of sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 113 pb(-1). In the absence of a signal, 95% confidence level mass limits of M(H(+/-+/-)(L))>118.4 GeV/c(2) and M(H(+/-+/-)(R))>98.2 GeV/c(2) are set for left-handed and right-handed doubly charged Higgs bosons, respectively, assuming 100% branching into muon pairs. 相似文献

The thermal evolution of the cosmic gas decoupled from that of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) at a redshift z approximately 200. Afterwards and before the first stars had formed, the cosmic neutral hydrogen absorbed the CMB flux at its resonant 21 cm spin-flip transition. We calculate the evolution of the spin temperature for this transition and the resulting anisotropies that are imprinted on the CMB sky due to linear density fluctuations during this epoch. These anisotropies, at an observed wavelength of 10.56[(1+z)/50] m, contain an amount of information that is orders of magnitude larger than any other cosmological probe. 相似文献

ID29 is an ESRF undulator beamline with a routinely accessible energy range of between 20.0 keV and 6.0 keV (λ = 0.62 Å to 2.07 Å) dedicated to the use of anomalous dispersion techniques in macromolecular crystallography. Since the beamline was first commissioned in 2001, ID29 has, in order to provide an improved service to both its academic and proprietary users, been the subject of almost continuous upgrade and refurbishment. It is now also the home to the ESRF Cryobench facility, ID29S. Here, the current status of the beamline is described and plans for its future are briefly outlined. 相似文献

In this paper we compare the sensitivity of the Extraordinary Transmittance (ET) peak position with the surrounding media
for two types of metallic structures: arrays of holes and arrays of slits recorded in Au films. Both types of array were fabricated
using Interference Lithography (IL) with a period of 700 nm and an Au thickness of 150 nm. The transmission spectra measurements
were performed at normal incidence using a spectrophotometer. The results show that an array of slits presents a higher sensitivity
for the surrounding media than the array of holes. Theoretical TE and TM simulations of the transmission spectra for the slit
arrays agree very well with the experimental results, confirming the better sensitivity of the slit arrays. 相似文献
