Tunable Ti: Sapphire regenerative amplifier for femtosecond Chirped-Pulse Amplification

We describe a tunable Ti:Sapphire regenerative amplifier which is used to amplify 120 fs pulses from a self-mode-locked Ti:Sapphire laser to energies in the range of 7–12 mJ from 760 nm to 855 nm. Electric-field control of electron–hole wave functions in a wide quantum well

The electric field dependence of the electron/hole wave function and the radiation energy of an exciton in a Be-δ-doped 80 nm quantum well (QW) is studied experimentally and compared it with variational calculation. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra show Stark shifts depending on the gate electric field and PL intensity of the exciton of the first excited state has a dip in the electric-field dependence which reflects the node of the electron wave function.     

Convergence of the distribution functions for wormlike chains

The Daniels-type distribution functions of the end-to-end distance of three-dimensional and two-dimensional wormlike chains are obtained to terms of order t^?10, by an operational method with use of a digital computer, where t is the ratio of the total chain contour length to the Kuhn segment length in three-dimensional cases and of the contour length to the persistence length in two-dimensional cases. The convergence of the ring-closure probability and the mean reciprocal distance is examined on the basis of these distribution functions. A similar study of the moment-based distribution functions is also made.     

A molecular orbital study of carbomethoxycarbene and dicarboxycarbene

The MINDO / 3 calculations on the title carbenes suggest that the nonclassical, closed structures are favored in gas phase or under externally unperturbed conditions.     

Stereoretentive Addition of N‐tert‐Butylsulfonyl‐α‐Amido Silanes to Aldehydes,Ketones, α,β‐Unsaturated Esters,and Imines

Enantioenriched N‐tert‐butylsulfonyl‐α‐amido silanes were successfully reacted with aldehydes, ketones, imines, and α,β‐unsaturated esters in the presence of a sub‐stoichiometric amount of CsF (0.5 equiv) in 1,2‐dimethoxyethane (DME) at ?20 °C to afford the corresponding coupling products with up to 89 % enantiospecificity in a retentive manner.
