The global minimum structures for Li(x)CoO(2) compositions where 0 ≤ x ≤ 1 were probed by using a hybrid evolutionary algorithm with an underlying ab initio structural relaxation scheme. The method successfully predicted experimentally observed variants of layered configurations at various degrees of lithiation and the spinel (Fd3[combining macron]m) phase at x = 1/2. New low-energy non-layered host structures at x < 1/2 were also revealed. These structures can be formed from the usual layered configuration through coherent stacking faults along the c-axis and the migration of Co ions into the Li-poor intercalation layer.  相似文献

The research and development of rechargeable all-ceramic lithium batteries are vital to realize their considerable advantages over existing commercial lithium ion batteries in terms of size, energy density, and safety. A key part of such effort is the development of solid-state electrolyte materials with high Li(+) conductivity and good electrochemical stability; lithium-containing oxides with a garnet-type structure are known to satisfy the requirements to achieve both features. Using first-principles density functional theory (DFT), we investigated the electrochemical stability of garnet-type Li(x)La(3)M(2)O(12) (M = Ti, Zr, Nb, Ta, Sb, Bi; x = 5 or 7) materials against Li metal. We found that the electrochemical stability of such materials depends on their composition and structure. The electrochemical stability against Li metal was improved when a cation M was chosen with a low effective nuclear charge, that is, with a high screening constant for an unoccupied orbital. In fact, both our computational and experimental results show that Li(7)La(3)Zr(2)O(12) and Li(5)La(3)Ta(2)O(12) are inert to Li metal. In addition, the linkage of MO(6) octahedra in the crystal structure affects the electrochemical stability. For example, perovskite-type La(1/3)TaO(3) was found, both experimentally and computationally, to react with Li metal owing to the corner-sharing MO(6) octahedral network of La(1/3)TaO(3), even though it has the same constituent elements as garnet-type Li(5)La(3)Ta(2)O(12) (which is inert to Li metal and features isolated TaO(6) octahedra).  相似文献

Ceria based oxides are regarded as key oxide materials for energy and environmental applications, such as solid oxide fuel cells, oxygen permeation membranes, fuel cell electrodes, oxygen storage, or heterogeneous catalysis. This great versatility in applications is rendered possible by the fact that rare earth-doped ceria is a pure oxygen ion conductor while undoped ceria, CeO(2-δ), is a mixed oxygen ion-electron conductor. To get deeper insight into the mixed conduction mechanism of oxygen ions and electrons from atomistic and electronic level viewpoints we have applied first-principles density functional theory (DFT + U method). The calculation results show that oxygen vacancies strongly attract localized electrons, forming associates between them. The migration energy of an oxygen vacancy in such an associate is substantially lowered compared to the unassociated case due to the simultaneous positional rearrangement of localized electrons during the ionic jump process. Accordingly, we propose a concerted migration mechanism of oxygen vacancies and localized electrons in reduced ceria; this mechanism results in an increased diffusivity of oxygen vacancies supported by localized electrons compared with that in pure oxide ion conductors.  相似文献

In this paper, we explore the copper/palladium-cocatalyzed cross-coupling reactions of 1-aryl-2-trimethylsilylethynes with aryl iodides, bromides, and chlorides as coupling partners, to furnish unsymmetrically disubstituted ethynes in moderate to excellent yields. Various aryl iodides were subjected to reaction under the optimized conditions with 5 mol % of Pd(PPh3)2 and 50 mol % of CuCl. The steric properties of the aryl iodide proved more influential to the outcome of the cross-coupling reaction than electronic factors. In addition, we succeeded in synthesizing unsymmetrical diarylethynes using two different aryl iodides in one-pot. Furthermore, under the same reaction conditions with 10 mol % of PdCl2, 40 mol % of P(4-FC6H4)3, and 50 mol % of CuCl as catalyst, we succeeded in synthesizing unsymmetrical diarylethynes from various aryl bromides. Finally, we explored reactions with aryl chlorides and duly discovered that unsymmetrical diarylethynes were obtainable in moderate to good yields when 10 mol % of Pd(OAc)2, 10 mol % of (?)-DIOP, and 10 mol % of CuCl were used. These reactions proceed through a direct activation of a carbon–silicon bond in alkynylsilanes by CuCl to generate the corresponding alkynylcopper species via transmetalation from silicon to copper. Mechanistic investigations on the reaction of alkynylsilanes with aryl bromides confirmed that the trimethylsilyl bromide generated in situ retarded both transmetalation steps between CuCl and alkynylsilane, and between palladium(II) species formed by oxidative addition and alkynylcopper species.  相似文献

[(OH(2))(R-terpy)Mn(μ-O)(2)Mn(R-terpy)(OH(2)) ](3+) (R-terpy = 4'-substituted 2,2':6',2″-terpyridine, R = butoxy (BuO), propoxy (PrO), ethoxy (EtO), methoxy (MeO), methyl (Me), methylthio (MeS), chloro (Cl)) have been synthesized as a functional oxygen-evolving complex (OEC) model and characterized by UV-vis and IR spectroscopic, X-ray crystallographic, magnetometric, and electrochemical techniques. The UV-vis spectra of derivatives in water were hardly influenced by the 4'-substituent variation. X-ray crystallographic data showed that Mn centers in the Mn(III)(μ-O)(2)Mn(IV) cores for derivatives with R = H, MeS, Me, EtO, and BuO are crystallographically indistinguishable, whereas the derivatives with R = MeO and PrO gave the significantly distinguishable Mn centers in the cores. The indistinguishable Mn centers could be caused by rapid electron exchange between the Mn centers to result in the delocalized Mn(μ-O)(2)Mn core. The exchange integral values (J = -196 to -178 cm(-1)) for delocalized cores were lower than that (J = -163 to -161 cm(-1)) for localized cores, though the Mn···Mn distances are nearly the same (2.707-2.750 ?). The half wave potential (E(1/2)) of a Mn(III)-Mn(IV)/Mn(IV)-Mn(IV) pair of the derivatives decreased with an increase of the electron-donating ability of the substituted groups for the delocalized core, but it deviated from the correlation for the localized cores. The catalytic activities of the derivatives on mica for heterogeneous water oxidation were remarkably changed by the substituted groups. The second order rate constant (k(2)/mol(-1) s(-1)) for O(2) evolution was indicated to be correlated to E(1/2) of a Mn(III)-Mn(IV)/Mn(IV)-Mn(IV) pair; k(2) increased by a factor of 29 as E(1/2) increased by 28 mV.  相似文献

The methanolic extract and its 1-butanol-soluble fraction from the flower buds of Camellia japonica, cultivated in Yunnan Province, China, showed inhibitory effects on melanogenesis in theophylline-stimulated B16 melanoma 4A5 cells. From the 1-butanol-soluble fraction, a new 28-nor-oleanane-type and three new oleanane-type triterpene saponins, sanchakasaponins A-D, were isolated together with four known triterpene saponins. Their chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical and physicochemical evidence. The inhibitory effects on melanogenesis in theophylline-stimulated B16 melanoma 4A5 cells and structure-activity relationships of the saponins were investigated.  相似文献

Four acylated oleanane-type triterpene oligoglycosides, sanchakasaponins E-H, were isolated from the flower buds of Camellia japonica cultivated in Yunnan province, China, together with four known triterpene oligoglycosides.
