X-ray structural study of 1-oxo-4-isopropyl-and 1-thio-4-propyl-2,6,7-trioxa-1-phosphabicyclo [2.2.2] octanes

The Mechanism and Kinetic Models of the Catalytic Oxidation of Ethylene by <Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis>-Benzoquinone in Aqueous–Acetonitrile Solutions of Pd(II) Cationic Complexes

A kinetic study of ethylene oxidation to acetaldehyde by p-benzoquinone in the Pd(OAc)₂–HClO₄?LiClO₄–CH₃CN–H₂O system has been carried out under conditions when palladium(II) cationic complexes exist at a molar fraction of water of 0.67 and 30°С. For a reaction that mostly lead to the formation ofPd(CH₃CN)(H₂O) ₃ ²⁺ two-route mechanism and a kinetic model have been proposed that describe adequately the experimental dependence of the reaction initial rate on the concentration of p-benzoquinone, HClO₄, and palladium. The model takes into account previous findings on the H₂O/D₂O and C₂H₄/C₂D₄ kinetic isotope effects and the important role of Pd(0) quinone complexes.     

Crossing-odd effects in soft nucleon collisions

A complete set of the data onpp andp \(\bar p\) scattering including measurements in the Coulomb interference region are analised to discover crossingodd effects in soft collisions. It is shown that the odderon is unable to produce a significant increase in ReA/ImA at \(\sqrt s = 546\) GeV. Moreover, the data give preference to that odderon which makes negative contribution to Re \(A_{p\bar p} \) and ceases the decrease of difference inp \(\bar p\) andpp total cross-sections.     

Convenient method for the synthesis and some transformations of the lithium salt of bis(diethoxyphosphoryl)fluoromethane

A convenient method was developed for the synthesis of the lithium salt of 1,1-bis(diethoxyphosphoryl)fluoromethane from availableO,O-diethyl (chlorofluoromethyl)phosphonate, and some transformations of the resulting salt were studied. Reaction of perfluoro carbanions with mercury trifluoroacetate and trifluoromethylmercury trifluoroacetate

Conclusions The reaction of fluoroolefins and alkali metal fluorides with mercury trifluoroacetate and trifluoromethylmercury trifluoroacetate in polar aprotic solvents is a convenient method for the preparation of symmetrical and unsymmetrical bis(perfluoroalkyl)mercury compounds.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 7, pp. 1642–1643, July, 1974.     

Benzamidines in cyclocondensation with hexafluoroacetone and methyl trifluoropyruvate acyl- and ethoxycarbonylimines

On the solution of the Chazy system of equations

We obtain a solution of the Chazy system that consists of nine nonlinear algebraic equations. This system gives a necessary condition for the class of nonlinear third-order differential equations with six singularities to be of P-type.
