We present a new attenuator function that can be applied to the Coulomb operator. Similar to the popular erf(omegar) attenuator, the function [erf(omega(r + r0)) + erf(omega(r - r0))]/2 divides the Coulomb potential into a singular short-range piece and a non-singular long-range piece. In our attenuator, omega controls the sharpness of the short-range/long-range division at r0. With r0 = 0, this reduces to erf(omegar), but the additional parameter allows more flexible adjustment of the potential, for physical and/or computational reasons. We present some illustrative results for a truncated MP2 method, where mean field effects are handled exactly and correlation is treated locally. This study indicates, somewhat expectedly, that the slope and curvature of the attenuated potential are more important than its value (a trivial constant may always be added to a potential). However, there are some surprising features of the data that suggest what bounds need to be put on the curvature of the attenuated potential in order to achieve reasonable physics. Conveniently, we find that our attenuator form has the ability to preserve the curvature of the Coulomb potential almost exactly at short range, allowing for the truncation of long-range interactions while preserving the local physics very well. The molecular integrals for the resultant operator can be done analytically over Gaussian basis functions, and the extensive algebraic manipulations necessary to evaluate them stably are shown.  相似文献

The development of novel anti-infectives requires unprecedented strategies targeting pathways which are solely present in pathogens but absent in humans. Following this principle, we developed inhibitors of lipoic acid ( LA ) salvage, a crucial pathway for the survival of LA auxotrophic bacteria and parasites but non-essential in human cells. An LA -based probe was selectively transferred onto substrate proteins via lipoate protein ligase (LPL) in intact cells, and their binding sites were determined by mass spectrometry. Probe labeling served as a proxy of LPL activity, enabling in situ screenings for cell-permeable LPL inhibitors. Profiling a focused compound library revealed two substrate analogs ( LAMe and C3 ) as inhibitors, which were further validated by binding studies and co-crystallography. Importantly, LAMe exhibited low toxicity in human cells and achieved killing of Plasmodium falciparum in erythrocytes with an EC50 value of 15 μM, making it the most effective LPL inhibitor reported to date.  相似文献

Both oxygen vacancies and surface hydroxyls play a crucial role in catalysis. Yet, their relationship is not often explored. Herein, we prepare two series of TiO2 (rutile and P25) with increasing oxygen deficiency and Ti3+ concentration by pulsed laser defect engineering in liquid (PUDEL), and selectively quantify the acidic and basic surface OH by fluoride substitution. As indicated by EPR spectroscopy, the laser-generated Ti3+ exist near the surface of rutile, but appear to be deeper in the bulk for P25. Fluoride substitution shows that extra acidic bridging OH are selectively created on rutile, while the surface OH density remains constant for P25. These observations suggest near-surface Ti3+ are highly related to surface bridging OH, presumably the former increasing the electron density of the bridging oxygen to form more of the latter. We anticipate that fluoride substitution will enable better characterization of surface OH and its correlation with defects in metal oxides.  相似文献

Immobilization of porphyrin complexes into crystalline metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) enables high exposure of porphyrin active sites for CO2 electroreduction. Herein, well-dispersed iron-porphyrin-based MOF (PCN-222(Fe)) on carbon-based electrodes revealed optimal turnover frequencies for CO2 electroreduction to CO at 1 wt.% catalyst loading, beyond which the intrinsic catalyst activity declined due to CO2 mass transport limitations. In situ Raman suggested that PCN-222(Fe) maintained its structure under electrochemical bias, permitting mechanistic investigations. These revealed a stepwise electron transfer-proton transfer mechanism for CO2 electroreduction on PCN-222(Fe) electrodes, which followed a shift from a rate-limiting electron transfer to CO2 mass transfer as the potential increased from −0.6 V to −1.0 V vs. RHE. Our results demonstrate how intrinsic catalytic investigations and in situ spectroscopy are needed to elucidate CO2 electroreduction mechanisms on PCN-222(Fe) MOFs.  相似文献

Due to their ability to form stable molecular complexes that have tailor-made properties, terpyridine ligands are of great interest in chemistry and material science. In this regard, we prepared two terpyridine ligands with two different fluorinated phenyl rings on the backbone. The corresponding CoII and FeII complexes were synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray structural analysis, electrochemistry and temperature-dependent SQUID magnetometry. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses at 100 K of these complexes revealed Co−N and Fe−N bond lengths that are typical of low spin CoII and FeII centers. The metal centers are coordinated in an octahedral fashion and the fluorinated phenyl rings on the backbone are twisted out of the plane of the terpyridine unit. The complexes were investigated with cyclic voltammetry and UV/Vis-NIR spectroelectrochemistry. All complexes show a reversible oxidation and several reduction processes. Temperature dependent SQUID magnetometry revealed a gradual thermal SCO behavior in two of the complexes, while EPR spectroscopy provided further insights on the electronic structure of the metal complexes, as well as site of reduction.  相似文献

We report a Brønsted acid-catalyzed synthesis of tetrasubstituted allenyl compounds decorated with heterocyclic sulfenyl group. The reaction proceeds readily from available propargylic alcohols in the presence of pentacarboxycyclopenatadienes (PCCPs) as organocatalysts. The developed strategy provides tetrasubstituted allene derivatives in high yields (from 55 to 98 %) and under mild reaction conditions.  相似文献

A sample pretreatment technique for silicon nitride involving digestion and matrix/traces separation was developed by means of radiotracers and applied to analysis of this material by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. The results obtained for a high purity silicon nitride material by these methods are compared each with the other and with those obtained by neutron activation analysis. The limits of detection and the capabilities of the methods are compared and discussed.  相似文献

The novel ionic ozonide {[N(C4H9)4](O3)}4·4.75NH3 was synthesized by ion‐exchange reaction in liquid ammonia. The crystal structure was determined by single crystal diffraction at 100 K (monoclinic space group P21, a = 15.014(11) Å, b = 13.696(10) Å, c = 19.890(15) Å, β = 105.407(12)°, V = 3943(5) Å3, Z = 2). The structure consists of a packing of sandwich‐like dimeric ion pairs in which two ozonide anions are interspersed between two tetrabutylammonium cations. Ammonia molecules from the solvent are localized in cavities in the structure. They are involved in hydrogen bonding with the ozonide ions. The desolvated tetrabutylammonium ozonide forms stable solutions in dichloromethane which may open up novel possibilities of tapping into the synthetic potential of the ozonide ion.  相似文献

The syntheses of several diynylgold(I) phosphine complexes, including Au(CCCCH){P(tol)3} (1), Au(CCCCSiMe3)(PR3) (R = Ph 2-Ph, tol 2-tol), Au(CCCCFc)(PPh3) (3), {(tol)3P}Au(CC)nAu{P(tol)3} [n = 2 (4), 3 (6), 4 (7)], {(Ph3P)Au}CCCC{Au[P(tol)3]} (5), [ppn][Au{CCCCAu[P(tol)3]}2] (8), [Au2(μ-I)(μ-dppm)2][Au(CCCCSiMe3)2] (9), Hg{CCCCAu(PR3)}2 (R = Ph 10-Ph, tol 10-tol) and {(triphos)Cu}CCCC{Au[P(tol)3]} (11) are described. Of these, the X-ray molecular structures of 1, 2-tol, 3, 4 and 9 have been determined.  相似文献

This paper reports on a microfluidic device for the flow-injection/electrochemistry analysis of nitroaromatic explosive. The response is very fast (150 assays/h), highly sensitive (detection limit 7.0 μg L−1), reproducible and stable (R.S.D. = 2.0%; n = 30) and linear (over 20-100 μg L−1 range). Relevant experimental parameters have been optimized. The new microsystem offers great promise for on-site monitoring of TNT, with significant advantages of speed/warning, sample size, efficiency and cost. Most favorable S/N characteristics were obtained at the Hg/Au-amalgam end-channel detector.  相似文献
